51.0. "In Search of a Therapist" by VORTEX::JOVAN (the Music kiss....) Tue Jul 22 1986 14:58

I recently moved here from the west coast and am in need of a competent
therapist/counselor in the Nashua area. I was involved in Re-Parenting
Therapy in Seattle and found it quite benefical. Any one hear of
that here? Any good suggestions as how to go about finding a therapist
    here?

    Thanks for any help.

    What's "re-parenting"? Sounds interesting...

I'm not familiar with the term "re-parenting", but I can
recommend a good therapist in the Nashua area...Janet Noonan.
She was recommended to me by the Stoney Brook counselor at
work and I've been seeing her for the past three years. Her
    # is 880-1938 and she's located on West Hollis Street in Nashua,
by the Police station. BTW, I first started seeing her because
my husband left while I was pregnant with my second child, so
she's helped me cope with the separation/divorce as well as
with parenting issues. Hope this helps.

51.3Speak to E.A.P.EXPERT::FINEBLUMSun Aug 17 1986 14:5910
I would recommend (assuming that you're a DEC employee)
that you contact your Employee Assistance Program representative
for a referral. I had two wonderful, long, talks with my
E.A.P. rep, who then referred me to an excellent therapist.
Several of my colleagues also had this experience.

The chats are completely free-of-charge and confidential. I
wonder if the EAP reps are generally as good as the one
    who I spoke with.

51.4Two outstanding therapistsTORCH::FODENFri Sep 19 1986 17:5224
    Angeline,

I know two outstanding therapists in the Boston area. Certainly
worth the drive for me. Patricia Wood, in Newton 617-965-2686 and
Laurie Brown in Cambridge 617 661-0803. I have worked with both
of them since early spring and have realized good results in my
life and relationships. They both are loving and very astute.
Laurie is single and perhaps in her late 30's. She has a soft gentle
way about her yet is very much able to get to the heart of things
    rather quickly.

Patricia is a bit older has been married and has children. She
also is very gentle yet incisive. I trust them both and recommend
    them highly.

As for Janet Noonan, my daughter was seeing her a while back. I
felt the results were very worthwhile and my daughter liked Janet
very much. For myself I felt Janet to be rather young and prefer
to work with someone who has dealt with some of the life issues
    I have.

    Good luck.
