183.0. "Netscape Gold V3.0 will NOT Save file" by BIGQ::THOMSON () Fri May 16 1997 17:25

 
 When I "Edit" a HTML file from Netscape Gold the "Save" command has the 
 following error window:

        File Write Error

            Error writing to file:
            file:///G/SPECS/HG200136.HTM
            Error creating backup file
            Check if there is enough disk space.
            Continue saving document?

            YES   NO

    It does NOT save the updates if YES is selected.

    Details about problem:
        PC OS is NT4.0
        Pathworks v 4.1
        VMS V6.1
        Netscape Gold V3.0
        file is stored on VMS Cluster
        disk format is FAT with with 1.21 GB free space. Disk quota NOT enabled
        Network Disk Connection is via account/password not share permission
        I can delete, edit file via Notepad, copy new file to disk 
        
        Do NOT have problem with Windows 3.1
        Do NOT have problem when same file is Edited on NTFS disk format

 Any ideas ...  Our PC support group at HLO is stumped
