Can anyone help please:
Alphaserver 4100 5/400 running VMS,
needed to replace the second CPU, new CPU is rev B05
CPU 0 = B3004-AA REV B04
CPU 1 = B3004-AA REV B05
New CPU is seen at console OK, but VMS reports the secondary
as "an unknown cpu type".
Is this problem known?

Brian, There is a patch for OpenVMS that allows the mixing of CPU types in 4100s, could this be what you need?. The patch name is: alpcpu1601_071 It can be found at the Digital Patch Web site: http://www.service.digital.com/html/patch_service.html or go directly to the OpenVMS V7.1 patch list (to save you navigating the site) at: ftp://ftp.service.digital.com/public/vms/axp/v7.1/ Trevor. | |||||

Thanks for the fast reply.
I'll checkout your suggestion.. this may take a few days to
get downtime on the customer's system.
