    is the difference AS4000 rackmount vs. AS4100 rackmount only a
    different motherboard for CPU and Memory ???

The new AS4000 is capable of supporting 16 PCI slots. It has totally different
sheet metal.

'Older' 4000 systems just had a different motherboard.
