594.0. "AS4000 5/466 and AS1000A 5/400 with VMS 6.2-1h3" by ZPOVC::LAICHAN () Fri May 09 1997 09:29

    Hi there,

Appreciate if someone can confirm if the following are supported:

    1. AlphaServer 4000 5/466 dual CPU, with VMS V6.2-1H3, TCP/IP Services for
OpenVMS V4.0, Polycenter Performance Data Collector v2.2.

    2. The same versions of s/w on AlphaServer 1000A 5/400.

    3. OpenVMS versions pre-install in these two AlphaServers, will it be
    V7.1?

    Thanks for any info

    Regards,
    Lee

Subj:	FW: Do you know if these versions run on a 1000a ??

VMS V6.2-1H3 is supported on the AS1000A 5/400. If the
layered applications run on VMS V6.2-1H3, then they're
supported on the AS1000A 5/400.

VMS V6.2-1H3 is not supported on the AS1000A 5/500. This is
due to lack of qual rather than any functional restriction so,
could someone run with it? Yes.

Yes, VMS V7.1 is the version used for FIS on AlphaServer 1000A
systems.

VMS V6.2-1H3 is supported on all AlphaServer 4100/4000 offerings,
including all CPU speeds, etc. As with 1000A, if the applications in
question run on VMS V6.2-1H3, then they're supported on 4100/4000.

Manufacturing/distributors recently switched to FISing VMS V7.1 on
all 4100/4000 variants (1 - 1.5 quarters ago?), so yes, V7.1 is now
    FISed on all 4100/4000 offerings.
