564.0. "No beep sound on Alpha 4100, is it normal?" by HTSC19::KENNETH () Tue Apr 08 1997 06:17
Hi,
I have ask the same question on DECWINDOWS conference, but there is no reply
yet. Therefore I would like to ask here.
One of my customer told me that there is no "beep" sound on their Alpha 4100
server running Motif V1.2-4. Even on VMS we type reply/bell and on the
window interface, a speaker icon, slide the volume to max.
After taking a look on their keyboard, it is a LK46W-A2.
Is it normal for the Alpha 4100? From one of the TIMA article, it
shows that LK46* has no bell hardware implemented. Is that the reason?
The title of the TIMA article is :
"How to Control Keyboard Beep on DECwindows Motif "New Desktop" Interface.
Can anyone give me some hints?
Thanks for your help in advance.
