Hi, After installing a Prestige 3000 to feed an AlphaServer 4100 running OpenVMS, we got the following behavior for the system: After installing the Monitoring software that cames with the nobreak under OpenVMS V6.2-1H3 and connecting the serial output of the nobreak to port TTA0 using the cable CT-03-92/01. When the nobreak is being feeding by the AC power line, the Monitoring Software starts the Shutdown procedure, and when we take off the AC power from the nobreak the Monitoring Software reports that the POWER was restored. In other word the Monitoring Software is operating in a reverse way. What can I check to fix this, is this a configuration problem? Thanks, Cupol

From: MOVMON::AJGAONKAR "KAMI AJGAONKAR, DTN: 223-8927, PKO3-1/R40 04-Apr-1997 1626" To: MOVMON::DAVIS CC: VAXRIO::CUPOLILLO,KAMI,SHRCTR::DJARVIS Subj: RE: Rawhide/Prestige 3000 UPS/OnliSafe problem Todd: There is no obvious cause of the problem from the note. I have the following suggestions: 1. Physically plug in a terminal to the port used for the UPS and verify that it is TTA0. 2. Verify that the terminal characteristics are set per the manual settings 3. Verify that the UPS is configured in "Novell mode" and is set to "configuration code 2" - the Prestige user manual tells how to check both these settings. If all the above still results in a problem, contact Exide support at 800-365-4892. As an aside, this was exactly one of the qual confiurations in the lab and we had it working fine.
