553.0. "Memory interleaving whitepapers?" by NQOS01::beast.det.dec.com::Ray Browder (Did you Exchange a walk-on part in the war for a lead role i) Thu Mar 27 1997 09:57

Hello,

I'm looking for a whitepaper on
memory interleaving on the 4100.

I have a customer that wants more
detail on the memory interleaving
on the 4100.

Thanks,
Ray

Short of a whitepaper, you can sum it up this way:

2-way interleaving regardless of number of memory modules installed in
    system.

Maximum system bus bandwidth is achievable regardless of the number of
    memory modules installed.

Thanks,

I saw a note that said the 4100 memory
interface was distributed over several
componets in the system. Is there an
article that describes the memory
interface on the 4100 that I can give
to my customer?

Thanks again,
Ray

Well, we wrote several articles for the Digital Technical Journal
(about the 4100) which will have very good treatment of this
subject...I believe this will be available soon...I'll find out from
the editor what the projected publish date is.
