I recently encountered a problem with a 4100 where it seems like the pointer/mouse works fine with Windows NT but once Digital UNIX 4.0A is installed the mouse/pointer hangs. Has anyone seen this problem? Thanks, Frank P.S. the 4100 in question has the latest firmware (CDROM ver 3.8).

It sounds like you need to re-run ECU. There are two sets of ECU config files on 4100/4000. One for Windows NT and another for UNIX/VMS.

After further investigation of the pointer issues that I was having I checked out a few of the standard 4100s that we have around the building I found out that they too exhibit the same symptoms. After looking even further into the issue I found out that when boot_reset is set to 'off' from the console this is what causes the problem. I still could not totally resolve the problem. The pointer now works when boot_reset is set 'on' but the mouse buttons don't work properly. /Frank

No further issues with the pointer I removed the unsupported graphics adapter and now the pointer works fine. |
