The -20 variant of the NVRAM chip finally came in. It was replaced but didn't fix the problem. We had to replace the PCI backplace... By the way, the new backplace had the NVRAM with a -20 variant as well. Mike | |||||

Did you ever upgrade to AlphaBIOS V5.24 or V5.28 to see if that corrected the problem? i.e. before swapping out the PCI backplane module? As far as I know, only V5.21 AlphaBIOS exhibited the inability to deal properly with the faster NVRAM parts. |
