| Hi,
I'm (it appears to be) "the" OpenVMS Instructor in Australia so I feel
that this note would be of great assistance to me.
We decided not to go with Version 7.0 OpenVMS courses and I am still
waiting for any information about V7.1 - has anyone heard about when
these courses will appear and if they are available where can we get
course materials?
I teach:
OpenVMS Skills
Operator
System Management I
System Management II
System Management III
We also have another course that is taught here (written in Australia)
called Writing Effective Command Procedures.

| A quick update...
There are no new VMS courses in development at this time. I don't expect
any courses to be updated or changed at this time.
The issue is revenue. Digital wants quite a bit of money to update their
courses and except for the SysNet string and maybe Performance and
Operator, the rest of the string is a money-loser based on the prices
Digital wants for the development efforts -- especially Internals!
I sent out a request to the country managers several months ago
requesting input on the VMS course string. I need 3 things:
- course name and number to be updated
- number of students you expect to teach that course to (1 year)
- total revenue expected from that course (1 year)
Yes, I realize that SysNet I might make a profit and SysNet III might
not, but if they all are profitable for us then I can make the case for
funding the whole string.
