23.0. "x25 gateway support?" by NNTPD::"[email protected]" (Walter Schneider) Fri May 16 1997 15:22

I couldn't find any documentation about x25-gateway, is it supported?
If yes , how does the communication works? LLC2?
how would it be configured?

Walter
Please qualify what you mean by X.25 Gateway. We used to make a box that
could be configured as a Gateway. This was the DEMSA/DEMSB. This has been
retired but there is a notes conference on MARVIN::

This box was largely repaced by the DECNIS but it has restriced X.25 capabilties
especially compared to devices like the DNSES EISA Sync Card and now the
Commserver 90.

The functions of an X.25 Gateway can be fulfilled by an ALphaServer with
access to a Sync Port. There are two traditional ways to provide a software
connection to the X.25 PSDN. This is via GAP (not supported on D/UNIX) and
via X.25 relay. GAP == Gateway Access Protocol.

Please take a little time to describe your requirements in a little more detail
so that readers of this conference can help you with them.
