37.0. "Non-delivery's send to SYSTEM account" by BIS6::WILLEMS_H () Mon May 26 1997 05:05

Hello,

We have PMDF-MTA installed on VAX-VMS on customer's site. Non-delivery's for
PMDF are mailed to the VMS system account.
We do the system management for this customer and use other accounts then system.

Could it be possible to change the "non-delivery mail account" and how can we do
this ?

Thanks and Regards

Yes, you can change it by reconfiguring PMDF ($ PMDF CONFIGURE).
PMDF will supply as defaults the answers which were used to
create the current configuration. However, if the PMDF.CNF file
has been customized outside of the configuration procedure, you
may overwrite other changes. PMDF does give you the option of
writing the files produced to a different area, so you could do that
and then compare the files before making the changes live

The last question is:
A user@host style address for the local Postmaster [current setting] ?
the default will most likely be system at the local machine; that's
where you'd enter the desired address.

If there are several people/accounts which should get the mail, you
can enter an alias (digital-support) and then add the alias and
target addresses to PMDF_TABLE:ALIASES.

One more warning, if you're using PMDF-MR (and probably other options),
it also asks for the local postmaster address, so you will also need
to do PMDF CONFIGURE MR (and any other components which are separately
configured).
