    Hope posting this here stops some red faces in May.
    
    Attached is an excerpt for the the cover letter for the OpenVMS patch
    which is required for PMDF v5.1. (Patch ALPLIBR03_070 for OpenVMS Alpha
    V6.1, v6.2 and v7.0, patch VAXLIBR03_070 for OpenVMS VAX v6.1, v6.2 and
    v7.0)
    
    The release note in the PMDF Software states:
    
    This patch corrects a number of problems, but notably:
        
    The 10,000 day limit in LIB$CVT_TO_INTERNAL_TIME causes problems for
    DEC-threads since it is using this routine to convert Unix times to VAX
    time. It will fail to work on 19-May-1997. In particular, PMDF
    multithreaded components will not operate correctly after 19-May-1997
    without this patch.
