Hiall,
a quite urgent customer's request.
There are 10 DMCC 13 slots with K2/UNIX. All of these shown the red LED
of the fan at the first power up. It disapper if switched off and on in
a few seconds.
Q1: Is this HW or SW problem? What to check?
I get the following message during startup on a couple of systems:
...
Alpha 21064A/266MHz CPU 64MB Memory 2MB Backup Cache : 10 PCI-slots backplane
SRVRMGR - Power Supply 1 failed or not available
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Q2: Again, HW or SW? (I think that at least the ONLY ONE power supply
should be working!!)
Regards,
Gabriele. TOEM FAE, Roma - Italy

Gabriele, The warning message SRVRMGR - Power Supply 1 failed or not available will be displayed if you're system meets one of the following o the power supply in the enclosure does NOT have a PSU sense connector o the power supply DOES have a PSU sense connector but it isn't plugged into the backplane o the power supply does have a PSU sense connector , it is plugged into the backplane, but the cabling from the backplane to the SBC has not been wired properly. The fan warning LED is a known problem which is being worked on. All FAE's should have been notified about the problem. A resoultion will be implemented via a formal ECO this month.
