178.0. "Option Qualification Planning Process - Document" by SHRCTR::WADAMS () Mon Mar 03 1997 19:08
At the recent FAE training in Ayr, Scotland, a formal process to identify
and priotize options was presented. The essence of this topic is
encapsulated in an Excel spreadsheet. The file is accessible over the
web, by pointing your browser the Ayr web site and selecting DMCC
and then training. The session was presented on Thursday.
The initial process to gather your feedback is email to my MS Exchange
account, [email protected] . The process for the next 1-2 months will
seem unorganized since the 80% basis is not firmly established ad agreed to
.
Based on the session with FAEs, suggestions were offered to expand the
information captured. For upcoming options to be qualified, a revenue
size should be provided / or customer project description. With getting
the base program off the ground, there is about a 9 month planning window
to get o the 80-90% level. Thus, please don't get frustrated when you
option is not qualified when you need it....there could be more business at
stake for the DMCC program....or lack of NRE funding to drive an item
immediately.
Please use this note string to further discussion of the process to update
the otion qualifaction matrix. Don't use this string to identify options
to be qualified....again, direct those to my email account.
Thanks
Wayne
