Here is the Year 2000 status for all of the POLYCENTER products that were sold
to Computer Associates in 1996. I define Year 2000 compliance according to
Jesse Lipcon's memo of October 21, 1996 (see definitions below). 


POLYCENTER Console Manager - Currently Level 1 for V1.6 (current release)
   and all future releases.

POLYCENTER Performance Advisor - Currently Level 2 for V2.2 (OpenVMS) and
   V3.0 (DIGITAL UNIX) due to year 2010 problem;  will be Level 1 with March
   1997 releases of V2.3 and V3.1.

POLYCENTER Performance Data Collector - Currently Level 2 for V2.2 (OpenVMS) and
   V3.0 (DIGITAL UNIX) due to year 2010 problem;  will be Level 1 with March
   1997 releases of V2.3 and V3.1.

POLYCENTER Scheduler (agt & ser) - currently Level 2 for V2.1 due to year
   2000 bug;  will be Level 1 with March 1997 release of V2.2.  

POLYCENTER Scheduler for DIGITAL UNIX - POLYCENTER Scheduler (client and 
   server) for DIGITAL UNIX has been retired due to an issue with embedded 
   third-party software.  The agent is still available.

POLYCENTER System Watchdog - Currently Level 1 for V2.3 (current release)
   and all future releases.

POLYCENTER DECnet Manager for DIGITAL UNIX - Currently at Level 1 for V2.2
   and all future releases.

POLYCENTER Path Doctor - Currently at Level 1 for V1.0; no plans for any
   future releases.

POLYCENTER Accounting Chargeback - Currently Level 1 for V2.2 (current 
   release) and all future releases

POLYCENTER AssetWORKS Server - Currently Level 1 for V2.0 (current release)
   and all future releases.

POLYCENTER AssetWORKS Enterprise Client - Currently Level 1 for V2.0 (current
   release) and all future releases. 

POLYCENTER AssetWORKS PC Client - Currently Level 1 for V2.0 (current release)
   and all future releases.

POLYCENTER System Census (agt & consolidator) - This product has been
   dropped as an individual product, but the functionality has been
   incorporated into POLYCENTER AssetWORKS. Customers must purchase
   AssetWORKS to upgrade.

POLYCENTER Software Distribution - This product has been dropped as an 
   individual product, but the functionality has been incorporated into 
   POLYCENTER AssetWORKS.  Customers must purchase AssetWORKS to
   upgrade.

               Jesse Lipcon's Year 2000 Compliance Definitions
               -----------------------------------------------

Level 1 - Y2K Fully Compliant

    Software product has been verified and modified as necessary
    to meet the following Year 2000 criteria: 

        - Software product supports a date range beyond the year 2000 
          (ie. 20:45:52, December 13, 1901 to 03:14:07, January 19, 2038 
          for DIGITAL UNIX) and will transition from Dec. 31, 1999 
          to Jan. 1, 2000 without intervention.

        - Software product system time will automatically function
          beyond the year 2000 without intervention. Software product
          will correctly use system time beyond the year 2000. 

        - All date calculations and representations are correct for any 
          date data within the supported date range. All date translations
          are correct for date data within the supported date range.

        - Software product provides four digit year data interfaces
          and API's. Any two digit year interfaces and API's have
          corresponding four digit alternatives and include a
          documented behavior such as a sliding window interpretation. 

Level 2 - Y2K Functionally Compliant

        Software product has been verified and/or modified as necessary and 
        generally meets the Year 2000 criteria stated above. Software
        product has some minor but fully documented limitations and 
        restrictions.  Work-arounds are provided that allow the product 
        to be used beyond the year 2000. 

Level 3 - Y2K Partially Compliant
        
        The Software product has been verified and all Year 2000 non-compliant 
        areas are known and documented with guidance on procedures to use
        with the product until a new Y2K compliant version is available.

        A new version of the Software product that meets Level 1 or Level 2 Y2K
        compliance will be available prior to December 31, 1997.

Level 4 - Y2K Not Compliant

        Software product does not meet Year 2000 compliance and will
        not function properly with date data beyond the year 2000. Software
        product should not be used in environment that requires correct
        handling of dates beyond December 31, 1999. There are
        no current plans for a new version of the Software product that
        meets Level 1 or Level 2 Y2K compliance. 

Level 5 - Retired Product

        Software product has been retired, or is planned to be    
        retired, prior to January 1, 1999. There are no plans to test 
        and/or modify the product for Year 2000 compliance. The
        product, in its current state, may or may not meet the user's
        Year 2000 requirements. Migration recommendations are available.
        Consult DIGITAL Services on a case-by-case basis for    
        specific contracted support or migration services. 

NOTE: ONLY LEVEL 1, ABOVE, CAN SATISFY THE NEWLY ADOPTED WARRANTY 
LANGUAGE BEING USED IN PROCUREMENTS BY THE U.S. FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. 
MANY COMMERCIAL CUSTOMERS HAVE ADOPTED SIMILAR LANGUAGE. PRODUCT PLANS 
SHOULD PROVIDE FOR MEETING LEVEL 1 COMPLIANCE BY DECEMBER 31, 1997.
