| Hi Mike,
I didn't understand that comment at all?? I guess you were joking?
I bought some of his teaching tapes - "Christian Character", and "Pleasing
God". As you remember Mike, "Dead Babies" was Alice Cooper's most popular
song of the seventies. The last name is Sproul not Gruel or Ghoul!!
Nancy, I believe you would enjoy him if you heard him.
I was serious in wanting others opinions. Has no one heard of him?

| R.C. Sproul is a well known evangelical theologian, though perhaps not
on the pop level. I think his last name is pronounced as if it were
Sprole, with a long "o" sound. I think I may have a book or two at home
& may be able to provide some biographical information. I'll check.

Steve,
Check out the reference that Mike made to the ::CCM notesfile
you will understand what he is talking about. It is truly
amazing that the Lord can take a man like Alice Cooper and
turn him around.

| RC has a radio ministry, Ligonier (founded in Ligonier, Pennsylvania,
some years back, now in Orlando, Florida) that I used to listen to when
I was in Las Vegas. He is anordained Presbyterian (PCA) minister, and
teaches theology at [mumble] Seminary in Orlando.
He did a series last winter on his radio program, on the Holiness of God
that was awe inspiring - I've been thinking of getting the tapes of
that series, it was so good.
RC is a Bible believing, conservative, Evangelical Christian in the
sense that we understand these words here. I recommend both his books
and his radio ministry.

782.11 | Another Book by R.C. Sproul | CPCOD::JOHNSON | A rare blue and gold afternoon | Fri Aug 25 1995 09:32 | 17 |
| Aha, I was looking through our books this morning to find a couple I wanted
to recommend to a friend, and found another book by R.C. Sproul. I haven't
actually read this one yet, (yes, we have books in our home library that I
haven't read, or perhaps have only read part of :-} ) but it sounds like it
would be a really great book for believers who have a friendship with an
unbeliever who is asking questions about God. It's called "If there's a
God why are there atheists?" and is subtitled "Why Atheists Believe in
Unbelief". Also published by Tyndale House, its copyright is 1974 & 1978,
though 1st publishing by Tyndale House was 1988.
The blurb on the outside cover concludes:
"Here is a clear, though-provoking discussion for the believer who
is troubled by doubts or who wants to respond intelligently to
unbelievers. And it is for the unbeliever who has an open mind."

| Thanks Everyone for the confirmation on R.C.
I knew in my heart that he taught the truth and that he is respected
for his work. I have a good friend who really loves his teachings and this
guy turned me on to him. As I said, I went to Toronto and enjoyed the
conference. He is a humble man too!! There were other speakers, but the wisdom
the Lord gave him was evident. I felt like I was among a man like Solomon.
I can only imagine how wise Solomon was??
Mike, I'll go into CCM. Alice Cooper a Christian - wow!!
