Me too. You have a way of cutting through the fog of garbled
politically correctisms to get at the real things in life. I
hope to see you in print some day.

Post on, Ray, post on.

I very much appreciate your insights, *particularly* when you take the time
to pay a modicum of attention to the form of your input, so that those who
don't know you as well will *not* mistake your notes for less than they are.

Warmest Regards,

Brian

Absolutely Ray. Here in the Santa Clara area it seems every other car
    has a darwin fish displayed.

Interesting observations Ray...I've seen a few of the Darwin things as well.

Never seen one before. What a remarkable, deliberate dig at Christians. Yet
those who use them would refuse to see them as such.

Suppose you were to create a symbol that looked at first glance like the Star
of David, but had swastikas in it. Would anyone try to defend that as
anything other than deliberate antagonism?

Sigh

That is what bothers me most about those things. The person displaying
it is taking an "in your face" attitude to me. They take the symbol
that is very dear to Christians and use it to taunt us. I have often
thought about getting one, putting it upside down and then put a cross
on top of it, but that would be just as wrong.

Unfortunately, these things originated here in Colorado Springs. There
was an article in the paper recently about the guy that started it.
The article was making a big deal about how ingenious this guy was at
    coming up with this idea.

Yup, Ron. Right here in Colorado Springs, sometimes called the
buckle of the Bible Belt, such a spiteful, anti-Christian product
    	can be spewed forth.
742.10have fish ever grown legs? nope.CUJO::SAMPSONWed Nov 15 1995 04:285
Don't take the Darwin-fish-with-legs *too* seriously. Remember
that Evolutionary Theory is in trouble on all fronts (e.g. having a great
deal of trouble explaining the observable fossil evidence). I like to
think of the Darwin-fish, upside-down, legs in the air, and emitting a
rotten stench. That's a much more accurate portrayal.

    Hi, Ray.

I've not had the privilege of meeting you, or even conversing.

But, thanks for the heads-up on how people with impure motives might
use our notes. I know I'm not alone in doing the bulk of my thinking
and writing off-line, i.e., after work hours, but actually posting
things during work hours. What I usually do is ponder and meditate,
write things down, give the thinking a rest, reread what I wrote the
next day or some time later to see if I still agree with myself, i.e.,
that the Holy Spirit (re)commends my understanding as true, and then
post replies when I have a couple minutes during the workday.

So, if someone is out to get you, then I guess they could look at the
timestamp, and based on how long thinking/writing takes, conclude that
you're taking valuable time away from work. Wrong conclusion!

On the other hand, how could you prove that conclusion wrong without
keeping validated timestamped documents elsewhere. I've always deleted
the original documents once I've posted. Maybe that's not such a good
    idea! :-(

I just spent about 10 minutes on this reply, just for the record.

	Nancy,

You're on the E-net, so Internet access is just a firewall away!
All you really need is a web browser for your PC/VAX/Alpha. It can be
text-only (LYNX) or multi-media, depending on the terminal or display.
You already know how to send e-mail across the Internet, right?

    Nancy,

Ooooh, that sounds bad! My PC did that a few months ago, and is now
sitting out in the garage in boxes. The 40 MB disk died. Fortunately,
we got a used Dell 466/L to replace it! Do you want my old PC? I can
take it over to a nearby Digital Servicenter and have a newer, bigger
disk put in. Then it would be a matter of shipping or bringing it to
    you (1200 miles). It's only a DECstation 316, but better'n nuthin!
