686.0. "Australian Contacts?" by ULYSSE::EASTWOOD () Thu Mar 02 1995 07:21

I'm visiting Digital Adelaide, South Australia, in late March, and would
like to get in contact with some of our brothers and sisters there. Are
any of you Noters located there, or can you give me some contacts in the
    area?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give. My e-mail address:
Richard Eastwood @VBE or ULYSSE::EASTWOOD or [email protected]

    God bless, Richard.

I checked the distribution list of christians in digital in australia
and found none in adelaide... there were two, a married couple, but
they left during the transitions. Lynne & David (?) Hoffmeister, the
latter of whom was a Field Service engineer when I was a customer, and
he went to the Lutheran church in Epping and came along to our church's
bush dance; around 1983/1984. He moved to Adelaide later.

Thank you both for your replies - we'll continue the discussion off
    line.

It might be worth posting in conference WARABI::LC. It was a bit quiet for
1994, but things could change, now that Hazza's back!

Chuckle. It might, at that. Mind you, I get "insufficient resources"
when I try to use it. Maybe I should complain to the moderator? Oh,
that's me! Maybe I should go hunt down the system manager...

Had a great time in Oz, except it rained most of the time in Adelaide.
Also took a few days off and went to Alice Springs and Ayers Rock, so I
did get some sun and warmth.

Didn't manage to use any of the contacts given to me by Kym and others
(thanks you all!), but did attend a big and active Anglican church in
Adelaide, Holy Trinity. Was also in Apice Springs on Palm Sunday and
attend the local Uniting Church. On the way back spent Easter weekend
in Singapore and attended the anglican cathedral, which is a huge
congregation - about 10 services per Sunday in various langauges and
styles. It's good to see God doing great things in that place.

    God bless, Richard.

   Richard,

your mention of Holy Trinity, Adelaide switched on a light (finally).
Praise God you found the *only* Evangelical Anglican Church in all of
South Australia. All the rest of the state is 'High'! (Information
current as at 4 years ago ;')

Praise the Lord you had a wonderful time - you missed the best bit
   though - *us*!

Praise God? The "high" church is the true church.

Missed that one myself, we went to the Baptist one while we were there.
What did you think of the geography? Did you notice anything strange
    about Alice Springs?
