"A European delegation?"
Obviously Rob didn't get the mail from the VP of personnel strongly suggesting
that employees stay away from the shareholder's meeting.

| Yep, confirms my suspicion of why the memo from Dick Farrahar was
so strongly worded.
Was Farrahar right? Will the sort of action Rob and his friends
plan harm the position of Digital on Wall Street?
Is there anything to learn from the parable of the vineyard and
the laborers, or was that not intended to apply to temporal life,
but only to inheriting God's kingdom?

| I was a little upset about that memo from the VP. It gave me the
impression that employees that are shareholders aren't considered
co-owners and it appears they're afraid we would make a bad impression
on potential/existing investors.

I don't want to make things uncomfortable, but I don't believe that the
memo was received over here (UK). It might be that people weren't
expected to attend in large numbers from outside the U.S., whereas it might
be reasonably expected that U.S. employee attendees could easily swamp the
meeting, leaving little room for external shareholders.
I don't know. I do think it's probably a matter to chase somewhere other
than in CHRISTIAN. eg in HUMANE::DIGITAL...

Hey! It was a Biblical/Christian discussion in ::DIGITAL that pointed
me back to Jesus Christ! Maybe its time to start another!

| Hi John,
back from the States. I'm not so sure that I understand your reference to the
laborers in the vineyard. My understanding of those scriptures was always that
the Lord got upset because the laborers felt taken advantage of when all that
the Lord did was to pay them in accordance with His agreement with them.
The situation at Digital is that the employees are being treated poorly, and
unfairly. But, perhaps you could explain your position better.
As far as hurting Digital on Wall Street... I doubt that our questions did any
more harm than the financial reports.

Certainly the stock prices today are making the recent encouragements
look puny.
Good trip?

| Hi Andrew,
I had a good visit with some of my family. I hadn't been home in six years.
My mom was especially thrilled that I was able to visit.
The meetings themselves went well, and I think that we accomplished about all
that we could have accomplished under the circumstances. No real concrete
changes will result, but we may be able to get a chance to talk with management
again. The only real reason for questioning Digital's strategy is because of
the effect that it is having on tens of thousands of lives.

repercussion to overcome now...
