621.0. "What scripture does Satan read?" by N2DEEP::SHALLOW (Subtract L, invert W) Mon Oct 31 1994 00:34

Just got back from the evening service. As usual, it was excellent.
It seems nearly every time I go to services at Jubilee, I walk away
refreshed, yet repentant, of seeking God to answer this or that, and
taking my eyes of my own concerns, onto that which is of greater
concern, that is, the lost. On Friday night, Larry Lea was the guest
preacher, and he gave an excellent sermon on "Guilt & Shame", which was
nailed to the same cross as the sins. (Praise GOD!)

Tonight, the speaker was an anointed woman by the name of Helen Ivicevich
who just returned from traveling with Reinhart (forgive me, I forgot
his last name, but have seen it mentioned in here several times), a
world renowned missionary. The topic of her preaching was "What scripture
does Satan have on his wall in hell?" It's Matthew 24:14. "And the gospel
of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all
nations, then shall the end come." She expressed concern that the
enemy is working hard to keep the gospel out of "ALL" the nations, as
he knows if he can stop, or delay this from happening, it extends the
time in which he has to continue to wreak havoc, and fill hell with
    those who he has captive.

She told of Bibles that are being printed for the moment China opens
the doors for Christianity to come in unhindered, but also cautioned
when countries open the doors for Jesus, others come in to share their
"religions". So prayer should be directed appropriately.

She went on for over 90 minutes, on testimonies, stories, and sharing
her experiences she had with Reinhart, and her own travels, and soon to
be embarking on trips to Russia, and other countries God directs her
to. She also has an excellent singing voice. One of the 2 songs she sang
    had the words...

"I want to come back, to put an end to the pain and suffering that I
see, but I cannot until the scripture is fulfilled." (or something very
close to that.) When the anointing is on the singer, you KNOW when it's
God's voice coming through. Wow! Tears happened in my eyes.

She gave statistics that nearly 2 years ago, there were approximately
2000 cultural groups (nations) that have yet to have the gospel preached
in them. After concentrated efforts by many evangelical groups, in 12
months, they had gone into 870 of them. That leaves approximately 1130
to go. (there is somewhere to verify these numbers, but I don't know
where...if someone knows, please post in a reply.)

So, if we really want Jesus to return, and put an end to the world as
we know it, then it's time to (if you're not already doing so) spend some
quality time interceeding for missionaries, and for God to give great
and mighty victories in invading countries that are on the "nation
countdown" list. This will cause the devil to become even more nervous
    than he already is.

Upcoming events to be held at Jubilee will be Marilyn Hickey's
Revelation Encounter, and Kim Clement, will also be here for a
prophetic seminar. I'll enter comments/info as I can.

    Bob,

I totally agree - however let's not forget to ask God where He wants us
to be missionaries! We're all called to _A_ mission field - are we sure
that it is where we are sitting right now??

I was at a Wycliffe open day about a month (or so) ago. They do Bible
translation for tribes who don't even have a written language. - starting
by learning the language so they can define it phonetically. Then they
have to write primers and persuade the people that it's worth learning to
read, gradually moving on to [portions of] the Bible. Incidentally taking
in the culture, to guard against any bad behavioural or linguistic faux
pas....

Lots of ground yet to cover, and lots of prayer relevant. It's as we are
open to pray in an informed way, that we become more sensitive to the
LORD's call for us to be part of the answer to our prayers. Our mission
field surrounds us, wherever the LORD put us.

I find Revelation 14:6 interesting where an angel 'flying in mid-air' has
"the eternal gospel to proclaim to those who live on the earth - to every
nation tribe, language and people." shortly before the end, as though
possibly the fulfillment of the last step will be hastened by the LORD...

Incidentally, there are signs that the enemy is trying to prevent the
fulfillment of a number of prophecies, in his desperation. But he is
doomed to failure, as he is doomed in every other way...

    re: .1

    Ben,

Yes, you're right. The mission field is everywhere, from the home, to
work, to strangers in the street. Helen even said there are some right
here in the USA who haven't heard the gospel. Although I think the
number is greater of those who DON'T want to hear about Jesus.

    re: .2

    Andrew,

You could be right about the Lord hastening the end by the angel
mentioned in Revelation. Since God already knows the day, and the
hour, there is nothing anyone can do to change that. That includes
any effort the enemy can try. Yep, he's a loser. Eternally so.

Romans 11:25
For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye
should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to
Israel, UNTIL THE FULNESS OF THE GENTILES BE COME IN.
