598.0. "Another goodbye..." by POWDML::SMCCONNELL (Next year, in Jerusalem!) Mon Oct 03 1994 11:11

They asked Him - which is the greatest commandment in
	all of Torah?

	And He said:

		Shema Yisrael
		Adonai Eloheynu Adonai echad....

	Hear - o Israel - the L-rd your G-d the L-rd is one!
And you shall love the L-rd your G-d with all your heart,
with all your soul, and with all your strength....

And the second is like it - you shall love your neighbor
	as yourself.

Upon these hang the Torah and the Prophets.

Beloved,

After 11 years here, my last day as a "digit" will be October 7, 1994 (very
nearly 11 years to the day after I started here as a full time 'TAG' - a
word that will warm the hearts of you old-timers from New England ;-).

What can I say?

Thank you for everything - the challenges, the support, the questions, the
answers, the debates, the agreements, the love.

Love one another as He so perfectly loves us. How does He love us? He
laid aside all that was His, considering you and me to be worth that cost.
How often I've failed to love others with the kind of gracious splendor
He's lavished on me!

Be watchful - primarily by watching Him who loves you. With your eyes
focussed upon Him and your flesh yielded to Him - what victory you'll know!

Be discerning - not all that sounds good really is. There are many wolves
in counterfeit sheep-suits. Their goal is to get you to doubt Him, His
Grace and His Word. But you, His beloved sheep, *know* His voice - so be
discerning. Whatever you do, do it in faith - trusting Him to accomplish
in and through you all He has planned for you from before the foundation of
the world.

The Bible says the old you *is* dead - that you *were* raised up with Him
and are now seated with Him in the heavenlies - that the old you no longer
lives, but the Messiah actually lives in and through you.

Does it feel that way all the time? I doubt it. But it is true, and I
don't doubt that at all!

"Oh - that's just the way it is in the Bible."

Well - yes it is. So which voice will you trust - the voice that says
nothing's really changed, or the Voice that says you are a beloved new
creation in Him? The same Bible which tells us about our new nature in Him
also says we're not to lean on our *own* understanding (for now, we see
through a dim mirror....), but in *all* our ways, we are to acknowledge
Him - acknowledge His presence, His authority, His will.

Follow the Good Shepherd. Love Him with all your heart, soul, and
strength. Love one another. Love your neighbor as yourself.

If you ever would like to visit Congregation Melech Yisrael, call our
office at (508) 792-0822 - we currently meet on Saturday mornings from
about 10:30 - 12:30 at the Mt. Zion Assembly building on Rte. 70 in
Boylston. But call the office first because we're looking for our own
building in Worcester (your prayers would be appreciated...).

Thanks for your friendship, fellowship, and many many wonderful memories.
I *truly* will miss you, dear family.

L-rd bless you and keep you,
L-rd make His face to shine upon you
			and be gracious to you,
L-rd lift up His countenance upon you
and give you His perfect peace.

						In Yeshua's Name,

    Steve,

Thank you for your encouragement, both in the notes here, and in
E-Mail. You will be missed here, but surely, you will be a blessing to
those whom you meet in the future G-d has planned for you.

598.2May you find that He has prepared the way...ICTHUS::YUILLEThou God seest meMon Oct 03 1994 11:4023
Steve,

You're wonderful! I look forward to meeting you in heaven when we shall
laugh together, with a purity of joy that can only be known there, over how
our wonderful LORD worked; how He let us be a part of the expression of His
love, and how little we understood it. And how all things came together
for His great, great glory. And meanwhile down here, our little minds are
delighted and overwhelmed to the point of being utterly blown, by the
lightest breath of His Presence.....

The fellowship has been so precious, and the memory of it is something real
as well. I shall take it with me ;-) knowing that it is only an
anticipation of when we shall walk together with Him in the eternal gardens
of His heaven, where He is the sun and temple.

He will accompany your every step, until faith is replaced by the sight
which fulfills our every desire. When we see him, we *shall* be like Him.
Wonderful and humbling to think that He sees us like that already -
enthoned in glory.... We're just learning to see with His eyes, as well as
walking with His feet, speaking with His words... ;-)

I've heard this Hebrew blessing before (my pastor says it just about
every Sunday). Does it come from a certain ceremony or did the priests
    extend it from Temple services?

I don't know if you are still around. Well, I've been getting
a log of calls from customers in Iowa today. I don't know
if that means anything to you but whenever I talk to someone
from Iowa, I think of "The Music Man" which makes me think
of you 12 (yes, 12) years ago! I figure it was a sign that
I better say my official good-bye or so-long or well, I'll
see you sometime when I come home and the old gang can get
together. I wish you and Sue the best and will be praying
for your happiness and growth in the Lord.

my last entries in this file.

Praise the Lord, that each of you is here, that the file exists and
that you will be able to continue His work through this medium. I will
miss all of you. I want to thank each of you for the caring and
sharing that is so evident in this File. While I am sad about leaving,
I am anxious to see what He will provide in my next job. I will be an
"Oracle" instead of a "Digit", which will be hard to adjust to after

On December 12, I will be meeting with an employee leasing company
(unless they've seen fit to terminate me instead). On the 12th,
this company will make its pitch to hire me and extend me an offer.
I will have one week to accept the offer or be terminated from Digital
without TFSO compensation. Not long after that (certainly before the
new year) I will become an employee of another company. It may or may
not see me sitting here at this desk, at this workstation, doing the
same work I'm doing now, but being paid by a new company. If I
continue my work, I will not know for how long. I expect to have
a clearer picture next week.

Mark, that clearing house would be foolish not to extend you an offer.
The real question is wether once hired by them, would you stop looking
