I think you're looking for topic 14.* ;-)
- and perhaps I should have been clearer; yes, it's an "official" note
(for whatever that's worth) and hopefully a helpful one as Digital has
changed quite a bit in a short period of time. We've likely lost
sight of many folks that made an impact on us.

The base note author has stated that this is an "official" whatever happened
to note. Lets leave this topic for the stated purpose, that being to determine
the whereabouts of former participants in this conference.

Does anyone know how Ed and Rothel LeCompte are? I know that Ed went
to mangle a system for a Christian Organisation, and that Rothel was
pretty crook for a while. And then Ed left, and I left and I guess
Rothel left. Any clues?

| Harry,
Ed and Rothel left at the same time cause Edhad gotten the new job in
Washington state. I don't remember who he went to work for except it
was a christian orgainization of some kind.
Elaine talked to Rothel about 1 1/2 years ago and found out that Ed had quit
the job for reasons that elude me. ( it's the age you know)
I seem to remember there were some negative feelings about the situation.
He at that time was working as a system manager for a school and they were
doing well. I don't think Rothel has worked since they left Colorado.

I don't know if its Australian lingo or something else, but I know I
don't have a clue to what it is, so what does "pretty crook" mean?
:-)
Thanks,

He had me there to, but I just made a stab at it and translated it to
"pretty sick/cronically ill", which was the case.

| Thanks John,
I remember now 'hearing' that they had moved to WA. I was
thinking/praying for them, and just wondered...
Sorry about the 'Strine'. Yes, 'crook' is "broken", or "sick". So
'pretty crook' is as John said "pretty sick/cronically ill" :')
But then, John *has* been to Oz, unlike Leslie - who _almost_ made it
in 1990 {sigh}.
As for Ed and Rothel, I'll keep praying for them as led.

it was Arkansas or Tenessee way...

| Hi All,
Been too busy to get in here much for the last few months, but I remember
seeing this note and I have an update on Ed and Rothel.
We got a Christmas card and letter from them just after Christmas.
They are in Austin Texas. Ed is consulting off and on and they are both
putting a christian directory together for the Texas hill country.
Seth is playing basketball. Must mean he is tall.............
They sounded happy though squeeking by most of the time.
Cheers all,
John I
PS
The Indermuehle's have been fine also. Elaine is great though she lost
&drew's home address and felt bad about it. Laura is soon to be 16 and
on the road by herself. We have the police and state patrol and there
will be special public warnings broadcasted over all emergency channels
during the first 3 months after her birthday. I've been better than ever
since early November when I had my gall bladder removed. Slowed me down
for a while, but now I feel great.

Thanks for the update. Have you got the LeCompte's now address??? I have
been looking for it everywhere it isn't. Please break that record! ;-)
Tell Elaine it's ok about nmy address - it stayed right here in Reading all
the time!!! ;-) Sorry to hear about the missing gall bladder, but good to
hear you're up to speed again. I'll be sure to stay indoors while Laura
gets used to driving on the wrong side - I doubt she'll hit here, but may
as well be on the safe side (which is on the left, of course, here).
God bless

| A Quick correction to my last update and info for &drew.
I was wrong! Shock..... gasp...... (wouldn't really surprise Elaine
She proves me wrong all the time)
Ed and Rothel are not in Austin, Tx. They are in Amarillo, Tx. Not really
a big deal cause they are still in Texas which is a fate slightly better than
having hives while getting a speeding ticket.
Their address:
Ed and Rothel
13400 Eldorado Dr.
Amarillo, Tx. 79111
That's it fer now.... Back to being real.

| Fan Tas Tic John. But then, wives generally have the advantage of close
observation. And if perchance you happened to be right (as you always
are), they can always change the grounds of the discussion. I tread no
further down this delicate path lest I be totally blacklisted, to the point
of having old ladies stand up to give me their seats on the bus...
Meanwhile, Austin's loss is Amarillo's gain. Coincidentally these are both
places I have never been to in my travels, though I have touched on various
points in between. They have had a narrow escape. However, if my script
proves legible, Amarillo - way up there in the pan-handle - may yet receive
a missive in my fist, and decorated with an English stamp... But I'm an
abominable letter writer. Near as bad as I am a snowman.
Thanks John. Now which end of the pen....

That helps a lot. My tongue has now almost stopped hurting, but I no
longer seem to be blue-blooded ... :-( And the paper is less white than of
former times. Now to get the hang of this dot-matrix stuff - I'm not
steady enough to be a laser printer yet.

| Ahhhhh ! Dot matrix is great stuff.
I do tend to start cramping up in my hand about half way through
the "J" when signing my name. But, after I work that out, things go
fine. Is a might tedious though,,,,,, all them little dots.......
takes a real fine point pen, don'tchaknow. ;^)
Now, Inkjet...... That's the great stuff tooo. Does have some
draw back to. Cleaning the different color inks out of your mouth,
and the taste is hard to take.
The trick though is "lip control".
Your Mondayly,
John I

One with a twisted nib is best. Every time it gets under a little
pressure, the dots go everywhere. Not precise enough to match cheque
[check?] signatures, but much more fun.
Remember those days of checking the program output without the device
by working out the dot-matrix pattern? Easier on punched paper tape.

Whew! You were one of the experts! I always choked on that stuff!
