Hi, I have been studying Daniel and am wrestling with Ch. 8, particularly the horn which comes after the four horns. I was wondering if anyone can recommend (or lend me!!) any book which accurately and in detail speaks of the history surrounding the life of Antiochus Epiphanes. I'd like to see how well he fits the prophecy. Anyway, please recommend if you know of any books. Just reply here or write me E-Mail. Thanks and God Bless, Tony

Josephus has a very detailed and horrific account of him, but perhaps not the kind of life-history you're looking for. I'm also assuming you've read the Maccabees books... Try a call to CBD, or, I'm sure any decent library would have plenty of data.

Thanks Steve. And no, I have not read the Maccabees. By this, do you refer to 1 and 2 Maccabees of the apocryphal? Haven't read Josephus either! Tony

> > Surprises me though. The KJ writers did up the Maccabees??! > The KJ translators translated the entire bible; it was illegal to produce a copy of the KJ bible which did not contain all the books that the Church of England used. /john |
