TITLE: "NO WORD TOO WONDERFUL: FAITH AND SUBMISSION"
BRIEF SYNOPSIS:
When God reveals his purpose to Mary, Gabriel the
Angel of God is greeted with faith. Mary is chosen
because she indeed is a righteous woman, full of
faith and submissive to the Word of God. This Word,
that she, a virgin, will conceive and bear a son, the
Son of David who will reign upon his throne forever,
is the most miraculous of God's words. Yet she
receives it with faith for "No word is too wonderful
for God."

TITLE: Christ's Humiliation - Our Salvation
BRIEF SYNOPSIS:
* TWO WORLDS:
Adam's World is dying away.
The Son of Man's World, which the author
calls "the world to come", is being born.
In his discussion of "the world to come", there are
* TWO MAJOR CHARACTERS:
The Son of God who was made "lower than the angels" (Ps 8)
and is now exalted again, and
The People of God, who are "the children God has given" (Is 8)
who will be "everyone" (v.9) in the world to come
"about which we are speaking" (v.5).
* TWO IMPORTANT QUESTIONS help us to get the point of the text:
Why was the Son of God made flesh? - To rescue the "children"
What help is his suffering to us as we face our own?
- a sure hope, and a powerful help to the "children"
- of no help to those who cling to Adam's world
* CONCLUSION: The Son of Man's world is greatly to be preferred to
Adam's dying world. Cling to the one who says, "Here am I,
and the children God has given me."
