Quick. Who has documentation on "The Forum"? A co-worker announced via e-mail to the entire hub group that he was going to give a 5-minute presentation in a conference room here in LKG. I went, and he began speaking of a weekend seminar that "changed his life". I asked him to identify the responsible organization, and he mentioned a name of what I think was the sponsoring organization. As I was hastily searching my memory for associations, I spoke up again and asked, "is this not Erhard Seminars Training (EST)". He confirmed. I immediately counter-challenged the audience to visit my office tomorrow for counter-cult reference documentation. I have documentation on EST, but I vaguely recall receiving additional material online. Something about how it was renamed "The Forum" and is now making inroads in the business/industry environment. Can anyone help me out further? My resources here are good, but somewhat dated.

Oh man, Garth... it's been a long time since I've heard about EST...
It must've been renamed, but I don't know a blasted thing about it.

I can reference my book of cults tonight, but that's the earliest I can
get to it. I recall that John Denver is heavily involved in EST and
that they believe they can become gods as does the LDS church.

I talked to the same person. He gave me a brochure that gave the name of the organization as "The Landmark Forum" (not merely "The Forum"). Garth and I found nothing suspicious or objectionable in the fancy glossy, but Garth says apparently they're trying to be much more subtle, and obscuring their real purpose initially. Amazingly the brochure was as clean as a whistle. I did not recognize the company that is sponsoring the seminars, nor did I recognize any of the endorsements. Eric | |||||
