Teens today are more scared at school than they were four years ago,
according to a new survey.
The writein, answered by 65,193 teens in grades 6-12 shows more than
one-third feel unsafe at school, up from almost one-quarter in 1989.
And about half said they knew someone who carried a weapon to school.
The unscientific survey by USA WEEKEND also found:
* 79% said "stupid things like bumping into someone" were the top
causes of violence, followed by boyfriend-girlfriend disputes and
racism.
* 50% know someone who switched schools to feel safer.
* 43% avoid restrooms
* 27% of girls say they were sexually harassed last year.
Also 63% said they would learn more if they felt safer.
Says 16-year old Kelsia Montgomery of Houston: "You shouldn't have to
worry that someone's waiting to kill you."

Now because there is no bibles and prayer in our public schools, there
is just as much in our homes. For those families that pray together, go
to worship together, the loss at school in insignificant, but to those
poor kids who only got the tiny taste of God from that little prayer in
the morning, it is a tremendous loss. THOSE are the ones we should pray
for. The old saying of the devil works with idle hands is true, because
they are not joined together in prayer, they are now doing so much
more, and not of good deeds.

Something interesting last night on the news...The Sturbridge area was
recently shaken by the discovery of 10-yr old Holly Piraiian (sp) body.
Last night they showed the SCHOOL BOARD meeting where they stopped for
a prayer on behalf of Holly and her family.
Swish that sword....
