170.0. "The call has come, at last" by EVMS::GLEASON (Only Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.) Tue Jun 08 1993 17:45

    Dear brothers and sisters,

My last day with Digital will be this Friday, the 11th, by my choice.
This is something to which I've been looking forward for about a year,
during which I've been seeking the Lord's will and timing, and His call
    has finally come.

Since February (I think) of 1991, you've been something like an
extended family to me, which I have valued greatly because at the
time, I had just lost my family mostly because of my own sin. It was
during the pain of that loss that I completely gave myself over to
the Lord, and He showed me that He had an even larger family for me
    to join.

To say that the last 2 years have been miraculous is a serious
understatement. He has begun transforming my life, helping me to
realize that through Him it is possible for me to be who I've always
wanted in my heart to be, for that is who He created me to be. The
child which has been bottled up within me for so long is finally
beginning to trust in His protection enough to emerge. It's been a
long process thus far, and it's nowhere near completed, but the Lord
    is in control.

During my comparatively short walk with Him, I have seen miracles,
healings, spiritual warfare -- more than that, I've been used to
perform all of those things, and more... Words of wisdom and
knowledge, prophecies, interpretations of dreams... For some reason
He has seen fit to show me all of these things. But most
importantly, He has impressed upon me time and time again that,
though all these things are real and are necessary for today, they
must only be done as He specifically guides, and only by His agape
love, which is by far the greatest gift of all. For if a person does
any or all of these things but does not have love, he has nothing,
and Jesus will not know him on the Judgment Day. Only His love can
cover the multitude of sins of which we are all guilty.

One other thought: Jesus said that signs would accompany those who
believed. To my fellow children of God I would ask: Do you believe? Is
Jesus really the same yesterday, today, and forever? As Paul exhorted,
let us seek the greater gifts, not to glorify ourselves, but to build
up the church and glorify Jesus, who alone is worthy of glory. Let us
show the world the power of His love, which never fails, so that we
might be known by our love, which we receive from Him to give to
    others.

I will greatly miss you, the DCF, and the other ministry
opportunities that have arisen over the last couple of years. Lord
willing I hope to stay in touch somehow. God bless you all.

    With love in Christ,

				*** Daryl ***

    Daryl,

I want to publically state how much I've appreciated your personal
friendship and ministering. You've touched my heart through the Spirit
of God in some very sore areas... areas I never felt safe exploring
    before.

I believe God can work through you in a mighty way and will testify to
the Spirit's ever presence in your life. A willing recipient. A
lesson for us all, I believe. Thanks for opening doors, that had been
only slightly ajar, for listening to my woes, for being my true friend
and saying things that I *needed* to hear, not what I wanted to hear.
    :-)

You have a special place in my heart Daryl. I pray God allows us to
stay in touch. I'm looking forward to what God is going to do with you.

    Your friend and Sis,
    Nancy

    P.S.
"He was a man full of the Holy Ghost, and many people were added unto
the Lord".. Acts, KJV :-) My prayer for you Daryl as revealed.

I've been wanting to reply here, but I'm really at a loss for words...
But since tomorrow is my last day, and I may not make it in here again,
I want to at least try to find the words.

I'm touched, deeply; I've already felt so blessed for the privilege
of sharing in your lives that it's almost hard to receive all these
additional blessings, if that makes any sense. I can only give them
to Him (which is a blessing in itself) and thank you from the depths
of my heart. I feel unworthy to receive them, because I'm accustomed
to being content as a servant just doing His duty in obedience as the
Lord leads; just the privilege of serving Him is thanks enough for
me. I have a lot to learn yet, and someday I'll figure out how to
balance my own unworthiness with Christ's ultimate worthiness. :-)

Again, thank you all, from the heart. I will miss you and be
thinking of you (which means I'll be praying for you), and I do
expect to find a way to remain in touch somehow.

    With love in Christ,

Time to add my name to the list. I heard officially that I'm to be
TFSO'd either 6/21 or 6/28 (management hasn't settled on a date yet).
After 14+ years with Dec, it's time to move on. The good news is I have
several offers of employment from our customers. The bad news is I'll
miss so many people, especially those in this file.

I'll miss you so much! You were supposed to come down here first!!!!
Any chance you'll be making it down anyway?

Another loss to our conference. :-(
