Gracious LORD, we lift up to You this fellowship.  Many of us have never 
met, and never will on this earth, but are united in You.  Some have yet to 
meet You....  Grant that this may be a place of peace, light, and love.  
Where You are seen, and not just the fallen face of mankind.

I lift to You the dear ones mentioned in note 6, who are in need of prayer 
just now.  Brian - we thank You that his condition is not as serious as was 
first thought, but we ask for Your continuing hand upon his body and his 
life, his family and marriage, his job - including the interview of Monday 
- and his move.  Be his peace throughout these things, and work Your 
sanctification within, dear LORD....

For the family Nancy brought before us, we pray my Father.  That You would 
meet them in this severe distress.  That You would be their comfort and 
peace; that You would protect them from vindictive hearts; that Your mercy 
would be shown in and through this family....  I pray also for the 
murderer, that his heart would know conviction and true repentance.

I bring Fran before You Holy LORD.  Thankk You for the recognition - the
diagnosis.  I ask for continued wisdom for the doctors in treatment, and
for opportunities for Fran to know Your loving mercy, even in this
outworking...

    RE: .397  My wife went through a period of adjustment when she stopped
    working to stay home with our children (she had always been in the
    workforce).  I told her that we are dependant upon one another and that
    when we stop being dependant upon each other, our marriage is in
    trouble.  It took a while, but she got over it, taking a part time job
    helped as well.  Our home life improved immensely with her being at

dark situation.  Praising Him for the gleam of light reaching Pam and 
Malcolm.  He has to take us to the end of ourselves and our resources 
before we admit our need of Him...

Graham, may the LORD be your Healer truly and completely, filling your 
heart with an awareness of His loving care, and building up your physical 
resources with His joy...

Phil, praying for encouragement for Danielle, and strength for you, 
standing by her through this traumatic time.  Also, that the LORD would 
reveal His perfect plan to yuor hearts, as the new path opens up before

Thanks for the reminder, Steve .... I was speaking to someone the other
day, who was lacking assurance.  It leaves them prone to say almost
anything, losing their grip on the reality....  And we are all only 
supported by His grace.

    applied for the job, the one that was selected was the one he was
    hoping would get it (after him, of course).

Father, for Phil and Dani - 

         It is because of your great love for us that you have a wonderful, 
         purpose for each of our lives. Your eye remains constantly upon 
         us, and you do not allow anything to happen to us which is outside 
         of your Divine plan.
         
         It is also because of your love that you want us to enjoy every 
         part of our lives, living them to the full, giving you the glory 
         through doing this, and this includes our recreation. 
         
         Praise you that Phil, although falling like a wounded bird, was 
         not more seriously hurt, that your ministering angels as it were 
         broke his fall. Quicken now the healing process, give the medical 
         staff added wisdom from your heart, and may they be astounded at 
         what you will reveal about yourself through this episode.
         
         Minister also your great and loving comfort to Dani as she comes 
         to terms with a double dose of potentially bad and stressful news. 
         May she experience that deep sense of "peace which passes all 
         understanding"

    If you are reading this... remember a dear Brother's wife who is
    similarly been unable to do the things she loves [for her family no
    less].  I told her that when I hurt my ankle and couldn't *do* for my
    children and I couldn't *go* anywhere... God used that time to speak
    to my heart, it was as though I audibly heard, "Be still, my child and
    know me."
    
    Maybe God wants your attention for a while.  I dunno... but I'm praying
    for you.

Praying for Carol and the family, over the MS situation as much as the 
broken leg...  May she know the LORD's presence close beside her throughout 
this time of trila.

Some 30+ years back my mother had MS, and went for a course of trying out
some then new treatment under test.  It was effective for her, with no side
effects, for which we were very grateful, but it was a very testing time
as you'll understand...

dear friends before You, and know that You can take our prayers and use
them to perfect us each one towards the time when time, for each of us
ceases; as we step into Your presence; when we can look back, and say
"Isn't He *wonderful*" - when  we know fully, as we are fully known; as we
see how tenderly and lovingly, yet effectively, You have been working in
and through each of us....  I bring before You the trials and tribulations
each has shared here, and ask for Your personal intervention, reaching into
our hearts and lives, that we may be made more like You here, and that the
enemy would be thrown back in disarray, as the glorious Name of Jesus is
lifted up on high.  Be blessing to our brother Dave, as he guards his use 
of working time, and in his life walking before You with his wife.  Be 
restoration to our brother Jim, in that marriage which crumbled, and thank 
You for signs of Your hand at work there in their children...  But 
especially that Jim's wife would be close to You...  I ask too, for Your 
protective healing for Brian's marriage, and protection for many many 
marriages under stress, that we may lift our eyes to You Who is our 
perfection, instead of feeling disappointment when we do not find it in 
each other.

LORD of Creation, delight us with Your restoration of perfect health to
dear ones in distress, whether it be physical attacks, or other ways on
which the enemy would seek to undermine our clarity of sight towards you... 
Carol, Brian, Mark's wife Joy, Phil's wife, Danielle, and so many others... 

My Father, be comfort to our sister Nancy, that in the burden she carries
for You she may be very aware that You are bearing the weight while she is
but the channel.  That she will know the way of blessing You have for her 
to move forward, and peace about the times of staying still...

LORD, You are such a delight to us!  The pain of parting, whether through 
physically moving on, or because one completes their mission for You here 
is an ache which cannot reach beyond time, because we know that what we all 
look forward to is that completion, when we all stand in your presence, for 
the fulfillment of eternity, whence there is no parting ever, at all.  Not 
only from each other, but not from You either.  To see You!!!! Whatever 
happens, nothing can take away that joy....

 Went pretty well, Andrew, thanks!  We had a nice dinner on my birthday 
 (lobster :-)  and a nice evening.  My oldest son and I had a nice chat 
 during which he indicated he'd love to have Dad home again.  My ex (Kathie)
 and I didn't have much chance to talk seriously that night, however, but it
 was a nice time.  

 I spent a few hours with her yesterday in between church services (I invited
 her to church but she declined) and we had a nice time, and then we had quite
 a chat on the phone last night about our relationship, the Lord, etc.  It
 was a good chat, and I think we are moving along nicely.  She said she wants
 to come to church next Sunday night :-) (she works Sunday morning) and we
 are going to go out one night this week.


 Prayers still graciously accepted.

that these women are able to change, to deal with the stress of their lives,
their frustrations, and disciplining their children without resorting to
physical abuse.  Praying for the relationships between parent & children to
heal, and that the children are able grow into emotionally and spiritually
healthy adults.  So many hurts and holes in the lives of so many people.
I pray that God's Spirit will dwell in you richly giving you wisdom and

for the little life growing, yet so limited.  Asking the LORD for a miracle

Praying with Gil for Roger, and that gleam of hope for his sight.... That 
the LORD would answer his hope with blessing.  And for the friend who heard 
of this possibility, that she will know the LORD's peace in being used as 
an instrument to point out this opportunity, and be ready to leave the 
outcome in His hands, trusting Him for the blessing...

 The boy had the heart surgery last week and apparantly they didn't find
 what they had hoped to find.  They will be doing it again in another month
 or 2.  The family is faced with deciding whether or not to implant a pacemaker
 (depends on the outcome of the second round of [lazer] surgery) or continuing
 him on medication.

 Still a sticky situation.

 years ago we had a somewhat similar situation in our church. While she
 was not the child of an elder, a young woman went off to a Bible college
 and wound up pregnant.  Folks in the church, while not "celebrating" the
 event, were quite supportive of her.  Unfortunately her own family, who
 were not Christians, were not.  She lived with my wife and I immediately
 before the birth of her daughter, and for a few months after that.

 While it was difficult all around, the church folks were quite loving and
 supportive and I didn't hear much about gossipping, etc going on.

David Stone was the VP in charge of Software here at
Digital when he left late last year to accept the Presidency
of a division at AT&T (Communications?).  He had been at
Digital for about 20 years, living in Switzerland when he
headed up something in Europe for 12 years.  He was one of
the few generally believed to have have a good shot at
replacing Ken Olsen as head of Digital.  (Bob Palmer and
the former head of Europe were the other two most commonly
mentioned.)  He is a Christian.  He currently lives in
New Jersey.  He's in his forties (I think).

    Will pray for David Stone, Collis.  May God be merciful to he and his
    family.

    Just yesterday I was thinking about David Stone and what his situation
    is.  Will keep him in my prayers.
    
    Over the weekend, someone was talking about how a Christian can face a
    difficult situation (terminal illness).  The answer was, to see it as
    God giving you the opportunity to be ready (many depart suddenly
    without any "warning").  I pray that David will be ready to meet the
    Lord with joy when the time of his departure comes.

    with David when he was the Commencement Speaker for a Focused Technical
    College at which I was an instructor at Babson College.  He was a very

        I received a phone call from the president of the church Advisory
        board. He informed me they have approved the sponsorship of the Boy
        Scout Troop. They also approved the sponsorship of a Cub Scout Pack
        (the 1st through 5th graders) which has now got to be started.

        Challenging work ahead, but I am extremely excited.!

    We have never been able to determine that.  You see, Cathey's dad was
    an alcoholic, which is partly the cause of many of his medical problems
    right now.  He no longer drinks, but I remember during one visit, after
    he had been attending AA for a while, he spoke freely about God and
    even was quoting some scriptures.  However, some of the things he was
    saying didn't quite make sense and when we tried to pursue his
    statements, he would rattle off some more or change the subject.
    Unsure about his standing with the Lord.

    Nancy, I know the feeling of loosing a dog. Our dog of 5 years either
    ran off or was stolen this summer.. We still have not gotten him back.

    We've since rescued another dog from the Humane Society who has brought
    joy to the family... BUT, Boomer (our other dog) will still be #1 in
    our hearts... Ralph (the new dog) is a gift from God though!

    and distribute them WIDELY throughout the neighborhood. If you have

with this.  You need to go to the police or other authorities because this
is harrassment, and is probably not legal (Shouldn't be legal).  Also, I 
would suggest that you get your home phone numbers changed - (to an unlisted 
number if they have such things), and possibly get you business number changed
as well if they have been calling there.

    Agreed, this sort of harassment is illegal, even in this country.  Our
    considered reaction is to keep praying for the perpetrators rather
    than to go through the anti-harassment channels provided by Digital
    Telecoms.
    
    The calls have been at work for all of us.  Since Digital will not give
    out our home telephone numbers, we are safe from that particular
    trouble.
    
    Since we know the identity of the people involved, should we wish to
    take action the Police would have absolutely no trouble finding them. 
    They are on the social security network, and we have their names and
    sufficient information to allow the police to trace them, even though
    they are itinerants.  We just don't want to do this just yet; as per
    scriptural comments on how to resolve conflicts between (supposed)

    I cried when I first heard that little Jamie Bulger had been murdered.
    The details that have come from the trial this last week have been
    truly horrific. That anyone could do this to a toddler is shocking - I
    find it appalling that two children are said to be responsible. It is

�    Sometimes that part in the bible where it says God doesn't 
�    give us more then we can bear, it seems like times it is.

Maybe you mean 1 Corinthians 10:13 :

"There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is
 faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but
 will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to
 bear it."

This really refers to being tempted, but could also include trials, in the 
sense that Job suffered, where his wife urged him to 'curse God and die', 
in Job 2:9.  God cared enough about Job to refine his soul to the best it
could be.  It didn't feel like God's love while he was going through it, 
but that's really what it was.  God loved Job enough to do His best for 
him.

 I had a nice man-man talk with my son last night..the ol' don't make
 the same mistakes I made chat.  His girlfriend has shown interest in the
 Lord and my son seems to have a desire to get things straight..I told him
 last night that now is the time to get things straight with him and now
 is the time to start praying about his role as a husband and father and 
 to pray for the salvation of his kids.  I left him a tape about getting
 things straight with God and he said he and his fiance will come to church
 Wednesday night...



 Jim still too young to be a father in law and much too  young to be a 
 grandfather.

	For a christian woman working in the Mill cafeteria.

        Her granddaughter was due in March, but decided she was in a hurry
        and arrived yesterday.  Danielle only wieghs one pound and is
        fighting for her life.  I pray that she survives and grows up a
	faithful Christian servant.

    Ron, I think you are right... this is a time of the year in which we
    need to focus on the saving Grace of Christ and give our hearts and
    praises on Him.  
    
    For me, I think my family has been taught that Christmas is receiving
    [kids] and this year I'm seeking to do something different.
    
    A suggestion I had from a friend, which I plan on executing is to make
    Cookies Plates for the elders in our church and couple in their 60's or
    older.  My boys and I will make these up, homemade, put on plate and
    deliver while caroling to each home.
    
    I'm going to have my boys choose a good duty task for one of our
    neighbors, walk their dog, rake some leaves, take out the garbage, mow
    the lawn, whatever they can handle and do well.  
    
    They aren't gifts from Santa this year [there is no Santa and I'm
    beginning to resent what he stands for], they will however, be allowed
    to receive gifts from family members.

    I'll say a prayer for JoAnn. My current manager (not my next manager,
    who is still late for our meeting) has a very sick mother, as well.
    It seems there are so many ill people nowadays....a former elder in the
    Christian community I belong to (who now works with a small community
    in Ft Collins, Col), once talked about his twin brother, a Christian
    leader who died after a long illness in which he was in intense pain.
    No one could understand why he had to suffer so. Right before he died,
    he became extremely lucid, looked up from his bed and said "Now I
    understand" and then died. We'll probably never understand why there
    is all this suffering, but we have to have faith that it will work
    out for the best. I've never suffered the loss of someone very close to
    me, so there is no way I can know the pain that entails, but there
    is someone who does know, and may He comfort JoAnn and those who know
    and love her

My prayers added for so many ... I've been out sick, so haven't entered 
here over the last 2+ weeks.  Now I have been able to review what I have 
missed, and bring all you dear ones before the LORD...

Especially Neil's family, with the ache of JoAnn's situation.  My prayers
are with each of you there, Neil... Am I right in understanding that there
are young children who are struggling with the theat of bereavement?  Hugs, 
bro... and tears.

James, for John & Kerryn, and their knowledge of God's hand setting them 
aside for the time of recovery...

Nancy, for all those affected by this flu epidemic.  I remember one year 
when the kids were small, and the bug had gone round and round us again and 
again...  We hit rock bottom that Christmas...  But the Rock was still  
there.  Sure, it's bad for the kids as they learn to go through suffering.
But its desperate for parents, struggling to cope with the extra load, a
fractious family, and that lurking feverish feeling that says *I* want to
exercise my right to be fractious too ... only to realise that it's all to
teach us we haven't that right... ;-{

perfect and rapid healing, we pray, skill for the surgeon, and grateful 
hearts to You, both in Bob's family, and in the family of the boy who did 
this thing...  Thank You LORD, that though the damage is so close to the 
eye, it did not actually harm the eye directly.  We ask Your protection for 
this family, that You would surround them continually with your arms; that 
the angels would accompany them through the days to come...

	was in labor until she was 7 cm dilated...)

    Wow, now I'm nervous.  This will be #3.  The first was induced labor,
    the 2nd was a 3:00 A.M. surprise with plenty of time to get to the
    hospital.  I just pray I am home when it happens as we now have two

    Just got word that Michelle's surgery has been postponed and will start

    This lady is a great inspiration to many.  Last night at our first
    ladies night out of 1994, Michelle lead the group in many of our games
    and inspirational activities.  I know that at least a dozen of the
    women at this outing, were there primarily because of Michele's
    involvement in their salvation, restoration or encouragement.

	Praying for Timothy and your wife.  My daughter was on antibiotics
	from the first few moments of her life (I was on them, too) due
	to the long time between my water breaking and her birth (60 hours).
	I also spiked a fever a couple hours before she was born, so they
	suspected an infection.

	Emily never contracted an infection, and was allowed to leave
	after 72 hours of observation.

    I've just heard from my Mum that the doctor thinks my brother's chest
    pains are due to stress and anxiety. He's been put onto beta blockers
    (I think these are a bit like tranquilisers) and has to go back to the
    doctor next week for another check over.

    When my dad died last year, a sister reminded me that Yeshua said,
    "Blessed are they who mourn, for they will be comforted."  I had always
    thought of that as distant future - "in the sweet by and by".  But my
    experience was that He was comforting me in the present in what was a
    tremendous blow to me on every level.  The pain of the loss was
    unspeakable, but His comfort even moreso.  I pray you and your family

be the case, according to the doctors. But with the miricles that the Lord has
done with others who have been in similar positions, my hope is he still keeps
faith in that he could be healed. IF it is the Lord's will, then healed is what

    I hope that this does not offend anyone in here.  They are catholic and
    from conversations my wife and I have had with Marianne, it appears
    that they do.  I don't want to imply that catholics are exempt from a
    saving knowledge of our Lord and Savior.  Far be it!  There are many
    catholics that I know (in fact, many of you who write in here) that
    obviously are born-again believers.  I also don't believe that being
    catholic or any other denomination (attending church services, etc.)
    automatically means that you know the Lord.  There are many churchgoers
    (not only catholic) who are just along for the ride.  Playing the game,
    as it were.  Please understand, I grew up catholic.  And although I
    knew who Jesus Christ was and I understood that He died on the cross
    for our sins, I did not come to know Him as my personal Savior until my
    wife and the pastor of the church she attended at the time explained
    what it meant to accept Him as Lord and Savior.  In other words, I knew
    who Jesus was, but I didn't KNOW Him!

    I didn't mention yesterday but attached to the note that she asked me
    to read was a second sheet of paper with a scripture quote (can't
    remember what it was right now).  It indicated, to me, that they are
    both looking to God for strength right now and believing that He can
    work a miracle in all of this.

    Again, I hope that I have not offended anyone in here.  That was
    certainly not my intent.  Please forgive me if anything I said has hurt
    you.  Sometimes I am not able to put down in a note what I want to
    convey.

    Sorry I haven't been in for a while, but I'd like to share something
    with you.
    
    You remember that I asked for prayers for my brother recently - he had
    split up with his girlfriend and had chest pains, so went to his
    doctor.
    
    It's the first time I've known chest pains to be a blessing in
    disguise. While checking him over, the doctor noticed a mark on my 
    brother's face, just beneath his eye. My brother, being a happy-go-lucky 
    sort of person, hadn't really bothered about it. The doctor suggested that 
    he go for tests.
    
    My brother has just had that mark removed in surgery. It was skin
    cancer, fortunately in the early stages, although he has to go for
    check-ups and treatment until they can give him the all-clear.
    
    How he managed to get skin cancer in this country (where I'm beginning
    to forget what the sun looks like :-)) is anyone's guess. The doctor
    did ask him if he'd been in a hot climate, to which he replied "What?
    On MY money?!!"
    
    So, I'm actually thanking God that my brother had those chest pains
    because otherwise he'd never have known about the cancer until it was
    too late.

Julie!  What a mercy the LORD took your brother to the doctor so the skin 
cancer was caught so early!  Praise the LORD!

Ann, any update on your aunt? - also remembering your 13-year old relative, 
and praising over his mother's new job!

Bob - heard from the in-laws yet, on their progress towards Oklahoma?

Graham - remembering Alex before the LORD today again... Also Lori-Ann &

Update on 6.664 - 'hundreds' attended the funeral of the murdered 12-year 
old schoolgirl.  May the LORD speak to them concerning the need for us to 
repent as a nation and individually...

    They drove as far as Dodge City Kansas the first night.. No call!
    
    They drove the second day, to Ponka City Oklahoma (destination), still
    no call.... Peggy had to call her aunt to find out they'd made it...
    
    Geesh, in-laws.... They'll give ya grey hairs sometimes...
    
    Now they just have to do it all over again on Friday... I hope they
    stop in Dodge City again on the way back... Dodge City is the 1/2 way

There are many burdens on the heart from all the prayer requests which have
been flowing in over the past few weeks.  Good to hear where the LORD has
answered.  Updates are appreciated to keep our prayers on target... 

Continuing to remember Todd and Jack, Jim, in their different situations
and needs.  For Todd & Julie's continuing peace and assurance as they face
the greatest reality together, of eternity...  For Jack to find that
forgiveness which surpasses understanding and brings the peace Todd 
witnesses to...

from before creation, and He has never let you out of His care.  He's not
about to now.  Keep us up to date with how He leads you...


Steven, bro .... I guess you're on the way by now (or will be before you
read this), but you have nothing to fear.  God also has your life protected
in His hand.  You don't get to step into His presence until you've finished 
your jobs down here!!!!  

The bitterness of the divorce days changes; the murder threat my reflect a
sore and shamed heart, may attempt to cover over personal guilt, but is
unlikely to result now in action which would have been expressed in the
heat of the moment...  It is God Who has brought this opportunity at this
time; Who has been working over the years in both your heart and hers.  I'm
not talking turning back the clock or anything like that, but forgiveness
and healing.  Even if only one can forgive, it removes from that one, the
burden and guilt of an old wound coming between them and God.  But if both 
can, the relief is immense.

� I think the Lord, has given me a peace about it, but that fear still
� lingers on. 

Hold onto that peace from the LORD, and remember that His perfect love
casts out all fear. (1 John 4:18)

       I am saddened to hear that you may be leaving us, but that sorrow is
    shadowed by the joy and excitement that is in my heart. For the chance
    to start anew, to move on and to change is a vitality that keeps us
    sharp. Phil, look forward! I will not mourn the day I am tapped on the
    shoulder, I look forward to it. The only thing keeping me here is lack
    of faith and trust the the Lord is king of all. (in all honesty) If I
    did not have a family to worry about, I would have been gone long ago
    pursuing my dream to have a farm.

    Wow! Phil!  I'm very sorry to hear your news - but excited for you at
    the same time.  What looks so dark and scary at first is ususally the
    first step towards something better, more challenging, fufilling.  I
    feel the same way PDM does - I would have been gone a long time ago if
    I only had the faith of a mustard seed :-(  Not to diminish the impact
    this change (if it occurs) will have on your life, but I think it's
    easier in the respect that you don't have the worries of supporting a 
    family at this time.
    
    Will be praying for you during this stressful time that God will

    for a technical to layman's perspective, let's say they took the "baby
    carriage" but left that which fills it.  (took uterus, left ovaries) 
    good news because she will have less problems later in life as her body
    will produce its own hormones.
    
    I am not a doctor, nor do I play one in notes.  This is just my take on
    the procedure (they call it a PROOOCEEDURE - from City Slickers), but
    it's a surgery!

them of their past companionship, and restore love between them.  Lighten
their hearts in the joy of what You have given, and make their home a place
of comfort, as they know not only peace together, but You in their midst.
Break the bondage, LORD, and restore the joy of Your salvation as something
they can partake of together....  That the home may be built up into a 
place where You are honoured, and their children see You reflected through 
their parents.  And I ask for special, supernatural patience for Steve, as 
he becomes the man of Your choice through this fire, which refines him as  
gold...

Job 23:10 :	"But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me,
		 I shall come forth as gold."
  

My Father, I ask also that You would minister to Pam's family, reaching into 
the hearts of those who have come through troubled waters in life, to know
the peace of Your salvation in their hearts - the peace that only this can
give, and nothing can take away.  That in particualr, her father and Uncle
Burt would learn to rejoice in the goodness of a God who not only gave them
life on this earth, but bought them eternal forgiveness, and life in heaven.
LORD, many of us will never know them on this earth, but long to see them as 
tokens of Your grace in heaven.

Please grant Pam the right words, and spirit to convey them, to speak 
tender words of healing to their spirits, that they would be awakened to 
Your perfect, complete, overwhelming love, even in times of sorrow and 
sadness, as well as in times of joy and gladness.

Many prayer requests recently, which my heart has seen, but I haven't been 
able to respond to here.  I just wanted to respond about Bernadette, Julie. 
Asking the LORD for His joy and peace in this early home call, which is a 
disaster in the eyes of the world, but a glorious entry into the LORD's 
presence for the one covered by Jesus' blood.

There is an elder at my church, with a young family (he's only about my
age), who has also been diagnosed as having an untreatable cancer recently.

It's a solemn yet exciting thing to know that the LORD has said "Soon!" to 
you.  His face shines the clearer through everything...

went for alternative treatment (with prayer!), and the lady is now 
- amazingly - up and about, and able to take her place at church, though 
the baby isn't born yet.  Hers was back trouble.  They also have a
two-year old.
