    I just started attending a Bible study on Colossians. We will be taking
    a look at Paul's refutation of the "Colossian heresy." Anyway, this all
    got me thinking about other heresies in the history of the Christian
    church, like the Nicolatians and the Gnostics. There are many
    similarities in the false belief systems. 
    
    I plan on looking down through church history and listing the main 
    components of each heresy to compare it with the others. The only problem 
    is that my knowledge and references on the matter are very limited. 
    
    Can anyone here point me to a decent reference work on heresies in the
    Christian church, or supply me with some general info to get started?
    
    Please note that this is an info request for personal study and should
    not be taken as license to declare someone else's beliefs or church as
    being heretical.

	Gil,

	I have a pretty good collection of historical writings, church history,
and some good books on heresies that entered the church, where, when etc.

Since we live close by I'd be willing to share with you my library if it
would be of interest to you.
