A couple of Nova Shalom groups have been started in our church with
rave reviews all around. However Sandy and I won't be able to get in
one until September. They are limited to 7 couples and the course
lasts 14 weeks. However, I have been informed that we are invited for
the next go round. From what I have heard it is a course to put
marital roles in biblical perspective and encourages prayer between
husband and wife.

There will be a Nova Shalom Outreach at Holden Chapel on
Saturday, June 12, at 7:00 pm.
It will last until 9:00.
Jamie and I plan to attend.
If anyone is interested in attending, send me mail today and I'll
send you directions.
I believe the next 13-week session starts in September.

I just noticed that I never put in a note describing
Nova Shalom.
Here are some excerpts from their flyer:
Worldwide vision:
"... Nova Shalom groups presently minister weekly across the United
States and on all six contintents. Couples are actually discovering
that a `marriage made in heaven' is really possible on this earth.
It is our goal to see a strong, powerhouse home founded on Jesus
Christ in every neighborhood of every nation around the world before
the return of our Lord Jesus Christ."
Powerhouse Homes:
"Nova Shalom ministries works with the local church to heal and
strengthen marriages. It is our firm belief that every couple has an
assignment from the Lord and it is our desire to help build them up and
equip them for the work of their ministry as a one-flesh team. We
believe when the homes are strong, the churches are strong. ..."
Nova Shalom is for people in Wounded Marriages, Stale Marriages,
and Stable Marriages.
Again, from the flyer:
" Nova Shalom groups are open to any couple willing to work together
on their marriage. Groups consist of a maximum of seven couples, two
of which are leadership. The groups meet weekly in a home for
thirteen weeks..."
The thirteen weekly scriptural topics are:
1. Covenant
2. One-flesh
3. Roles
4. Sowing and reaping
5. Forgiveness
6. Faith vision and Trust
7. Praying together
8. Agreement
9. Gifts of the Spirit
10. Sex
11. Spiritual Warfare

| For those who can't make it on June 12, there is another Nova Shalom
Outreach at Pleasant St. Baptist Church in Worcester on Saturday,
June 17 at 7:30 pm.

We start our 13 week session tonight, exactly 8 years to the day
after I first met Jamie.
I'm fairly excited (and Jamie admits he's slightly nervous!).
By the way, I changed the title of this note. Nova Shalom has
become Marriage Ministries International, as they endeavor to
go into Arab nations, and felt that Nova Shalom might not be
accepted.

There are two Marriage Ministries International Outreach
nights planned in the next week.
At an Outreach night, couples that have recently completed
the program give testimony of how the program has helped
in their marriages.
In order to enroll in a Marriage Ministries group (ie. 13 week
session), you must attend an outreach night.
The schedule nights are:
Saturday, January 8th, 7:00 - 9:00 pm, Triumphant Life Church,
Worcester,MA
or
Monday, January 10th, 7:00 - 9:00 pm, Holden Chapel, Holden, MA
I can provide directions. Please contact me via E-Mail if you
need them.
BTW, Jamie and I will be one of the couples at the Jan. 10th outreach.

Last Saturday's outreach was postponed, and will be held
this coming Saturday, January 15th, at Triumphant Life Church,
Worcester, MA
The outreach at Holden Chapel went very well last night, with
around 10 couples attending (in addition to us "graduates).
I'd really like to encourage anyone even remotely interested
to attend an outreach. Attendance is *not* a commitment to
join a group.
Next groups will start in the March-April timeframe, and are
scheduled to end before school ends.

I checked with the 800 directory and found no listing.
I am not in the north east and would like to investigate this
ministry.
