  Would like prayer for my son Chris, who has a rather nasty case of the
chicken pox (he's 16).  Last night (Friday) his mother hauled him off to
the emergency room because he was experiencing spasms on his left side and
slightly slurred/stuttering speech.  They gave him some meds and said if no
 improvement to haul him back in today (Saturday), which I did.  Seems things
had gotten a bit worse and I (along with hismother ) was rather frightened
by all of this..while the CAT scan showed nothingn neurological going on,
he still is a bit uncomfortable and obeserving the spasms is not a particular-
ly pleasant experience..

    Our church is hosting a youth party this weekend where the youth will
    be inviting as many friends as they can to introduce them to the
    gospel.  There will be 50,000 of these parties across the country. 
    Please pray with me that these youths will find Christ.  After the age
    of 18 of those who have not excepted Christ 85% of them never will.

She's had major surgery last week - hysterectomy, one ovary removed, bladder 
reconstruction & bowel reconstruction. Neither she nor my friend (Pam) are 
Christian, but my friend has SEEN the power of prayer.

    I guess you mean that statistics on salvation have shown this, rather
    than this being a prediction.  I've found this as well; their hearts
    are hardened and they become set in their ways.

    The situation in Waco with the Davidian cult/ATF standoff 
    remains very tense.  Several hundred officers have been
    called in as well as Armoured personnel carriers and
    tanks.  Sanity and any desires for peaceful resolution
    appear to have fled.  More bloodshed and death are likely
    to occur.
    
    Please pray with me for God to permit a peaceful end to
    the situation.

    Please pray for a co-worker in my office, Rose Sperling.
    
    Rose's mother passed away approximately two months ago and 1 week after
    her mother passed away, they determined her father had 7 cancerous
    brain tumors.  She brought him home with her and just last night he
    passed away.

    Another woman, Andrea Bogle, just found out last night at 10:00 P.M.,
    that her ex-husband (drug addict/alcoholic) was found dead on the
    streets (where he lived).  
    
    Andrea is taking this very hard, as he called her and asked if she'd
    let him spend the night with her last night and she refused.  He  is
    the father of her 2 year-old son.
    
    Please pray for Andrea, her heart is overburdened with guilt.

	Please pray for my father-in-law, Mark.

	He had some heart problems Thursday, either a severe angina
	attack or mild heart attack, and was put in the hospital for
	observation.  On Saturday, he suffered a heart attack, which
	caused some heart damage, and scheduled bypass surgery for
	Sunday a.m.

	They ended up performing a quadruple bypass.  The doctors say
	that things went well.  Mark had not yet woken up when my mother-in-law
	left the hospital last night (which the doctors say is normal).

	Please pray for Mark's full recovery.  Also, please pray for
	my mother-in-law, Terry.  She needs the Lord's strength and
	comfort in a big way right now.   My in-laws are in Florida for
	the winter right now, so we cannot be there to comfort and
	encourage her.  She's a Christian, as is Mark, but with all the
	trials of the past two years, her faith has been tested.

    Prayer requested for my wife, Petria.  [by me, not her ;-) ]
    
    She is having a difficult time at work at the moment, with an office
    relocation and a seminar coming up for which she does the booking
    paperwork.  She's experiencing conflict with her boss, who also happens
    to be her brother-in-law.  He's not Christian.  He's a network selling
    type; (*mw**) only goal is money and more people in the net.  The
    organisation is him, his wife [Petria's sister], Petria, and one other.
    
    Petria is insisting on a Christian moral stance in her dealings with
    customers.  The boss does not have the same Christian moral set.
    
    Petria's health is also suffering; methinks from stress and working
    long hours.

    Please pray for Ann and her family. She is a Christian, with a
    non-Christian husband. They are all deeply unhappy. Her husband is
    depressive, oppressive & possessive. One son is moving out, the other
    has an alchohol problem, and her daughter, a 10 year old Christian, is
    searching for answers. This family is wounded, and they keep hurting
    themselves & each other.
    Please lift them up in prayer, that their ears may be opened to the
    Word, their hearts softened, and their eyes opened to the love which is
    always theirs to claim.
    
    I spent half an hour on the phone with Ann, just listening. She's very
    "controlled" at the moment, but I fear for her and her children. I've
    prayed, but I still want to go home and hide under the bed-covers when
    I think of that family.
    
    Father God, please hold them tight.

    It is with deep regret that I must again ask for prayer for our
    anonymous brother from the previous version of the conference.  From
    the last update I had written, his wife had returned home to the
    family.  Since then, an extreme unwillingness to repent and seek true
    forgiveness and restoration, both to the Lord and to her family, have
    been exhibited, which no amount of counseling has helped.  Because of
    this, in great pain, our brother has filed for divorce as of last
    night. Please keep him, his wife, and their children in your prayers.

    Please pray for two things.  First, I have minor panges of Corpol
    Tunnel in my hand.
    
    Then, pray for my husband Mark and his mother JoAnn-and me too.  She is
    heavy into new age stuff-which includes among other things talking to 
    dead people, channelling, listening to "angelic" voices (in other
    words, little voices in her head).  So many people are doing this that
    she doesn't think its abnormal.   
    
    My husband has a minor problem.  Its his only big hangup.  He's a
    worrier.  Sometimes to the extreme, but Mark and I have been working on
    this.  I help as best I can.  Anyway, Mark was driving over to his
    mothers, a bicycler drives right at him and unnerves him a bit.  Its
    kind of cold today, but Mark doesn't want to fool with driving the
    car, but he wants to put his mind at ease about the bicycler.  So
    decides to walk over a couple of blocks just to check things out.  His
    mother hops in her car, orders him into the car and procedes to tell
    him he has a mental problem.  Now, Mark does have a worrying problem,
    but he's not crazy.  She won't admit to mental problems that she has
    due to this new age stuff, but she lays this on Mark.  He's a very
    sensitive guy and is very upset by this.
    
    Anyway, I could go into more detail, but please send prayers this way
    for us.   I talked to JoAnn but I don't think she's convinced.  If I
    know her, a little voice probably told her he has a problem.  It'll
    take an act of God to change her mind.

    Kevin Manley is 2 years old, he was diagnosed with an inoperable brain
    tumor... His parents are Christians and they have been an incredible
    witness to those around them throught this trial. BTW, Kevin was only
    given 2 months to live and it has now been over 6 months since that
    diagnosis.
    
    They have found a doctor who will operate and try to remove the tumor
    on Wednesday, March 17th!!! Please remember little Kevin and his
    parents in prayer.

    My prayers are with little Kevin Manley.  I've marked my calender.   
    
    In regard to my situation, things have improved since yesturday.  Mark
    still wants to finish learning Lotus 123, but is going to look in the
    want ads tomorrow.  His mother has calmed down, Mark and she talked
    last night and this morning, and every thing is fine now.  They are
    both going to send me to an early grave doing things like this, but
    every things ok. (thank you God).  The first good sign I have seen with
    his mother happened this morning.  She believes (and is taught) that
    you are not supposed to question channelers, etc.  Well, one of the
    channelers told her to go to this dying mans bedside (w/the family's
    permission), gather people with her, and tell him psychically to go on
    up to heaven.  This upset Mark because he didn't feel it was her place
    to do something like that.  Anyway, this morning she said that what the
    channeler said was cr*p.  That angels can take care of stuff like that,
    that she was not the ONLY person that could do that.
    
    Its not major good news, but its the only light I've seen in about 10
    years.   (thank you God).  I don't know if she'll ever disbelieve what
    she believes, but perhaps now she won't believe everything that is said
    to her.
    
    And Mark is in control of his worry's.  And my hand is not hurting this
    morning!  Good things are happening.  Your right Nancy.. what was going
    on yesturday was more than I could deal with.  I was just praying for
    God to give me the right words to say to Mark, and that His will would
    be done concerning Mark and his mom.

    Thanks for the update, I know this is difficult and painful for you to
    endure and to constantly be in the presence of evil spirits ... well, I
    just don't know.
    
    Last week I taught on Acts Chapter 8, the conversion of Simon the
    Sorcerer... you may want to read that, as encouragement.  It's a great
    story, further in chapter 8 is the story of the Eunich and honestly
    that is one to behold as well!!!
    
    God is good, He is faithful to His people.

    When feelings fail and you can't see far ahead, sometimes all we have
    is God's Word, and IT IS SUFFICIENT.  (It's nice to have the assurances
    in our feelings, especially when things press us to near death, but 
    we have the assurance of God's Word backed up by His authority.)

I didn't really know Caitlin. I knew her name. I'd seen her at David's Day 
Care Centre a few times. The other kids didn't really play with her, or she 
with them. She'd actually try to avoid playing or being with groups of 
children. 

Caitlin was autistic.

I'd seen her climbing door frames to get out of the room, climbing 
up like a little spider, one hand and foot on one side of the door frame, 
one hand and foot on the other side of the door frame. She could climb with 
the agility and stealth of a 12 year old.
She loved to climb, and she loved to be out. She'd got out of her parents home 
a few times - the police had been called at least 6 times when she'd 
"escaped".

Caitlin got out of the Centre on Friday. She climbed over 3 sets of fences, 
then finally to a swimming pool fence. Caitlin drowned.

She was 3 years old.

Please pray for Caitlin, her family, her friends and her teachers.

Chele....   that hurts.

I *have* to believe that God has Caitlin climbing round the dwellings of 
heaven in perfect safety and pleasure.....

But I still hurt.  Praying for those whose lives she touched - or who God 
touched through her, through those precious three years....

 Just got home from taking my oldest son Sean to the doctor (he was in
the ER Thursday night) with a nasty case of the chicken pox (which he got
from my 16 year old son)..he's a pretty sick kid right now..worse case of
chicken pox the doctor has ever seen..and he's got bronchitis on top of it..
so I'd appreciate prayer for him, and while we're at it perhaps prayer for
each of my kids and their relation ship with the Lord.  Chris (16) and
Sean (21) both accepted the Lord when they were young (and their mother and
I were active in the church)..and we slid away and so did they..My son Scott
was saved at a chuch a year or so ago, (he's 10)..and now that I've recommited
my life I'm concerned about their relationship with Him (and their mother's)
So I'd appreciate prayer for all of them..

UPDATE ON LITTLE KEVIN....THANKS FOR ALL YOUR PRAYERS, CONTINUE TO PRAY.

Melinda just called with a Kevin update and prayer request.

Because you prayed:
	-  Kevin has gotten bigger; the tumor has gotten smaller.
	-  Rick, Melinda, and Rich are using this as an opportunity to 	   
	   witness and grow in faith.
	-  Lives have been touched.

The chemotherapy has succeeded in shrinking the tumor. So, next Wednesday 
(3/17) they will check Kevin into the hospital for a brain angiogram to 
analyze/identify cells and vessels. They will use drugs to clot the 
affected vessels. On Friday (3/19) he will have surgery to remove 90% of 
the tumor.

Pray: 
	-  That God's plan and purpose will be done in Kevin's life.
	-  That Rick, Melinda, and Rich will be sustained and strengthened.
	-  That God will be glorified through the witness of this family.

	-  Complete Healing to the Glory of God!
    

    .47  Praise God!  I've been praying for that little angel of God's.
    I'll be in continued prayer for him and his family.  Please keep us

    Also, a personal prayer request:  our fifth child is due in late April. 
    Our desire is to have another home birth (with nurse-midwives). 
    However, at this time the baby is in a breach position (feet down). 
    Unless the baby turns (or is turned), a home birth is out of the

  Also cover the requests of Your children according to Your good pleasure
and to Your glory.

        My deepest and sincere prayers are with this couple. I have
        been one of the resent anonymous entries for a prayer request
        for my marriage. As of last Friday I was deeply grieved to
        have to file for a Divorce from my wife on the grounds of an
        Adulterous Affair. We tried a couple of secular counselors
        but to no avail. I tried to get my wife to come with me to 
        a good Christian counselor or my Pastor, but she wouldn't
        go. She still holds in her heart that the Affair was justified
        to finding herself, and is angry with God for letting her
        stray into it and angry with God for putting her through
        all the after the fact pain and suffering. She, as of this
        day that I'm aware of, still unwilling to come to repentance 
        and ask my forgiveness. Sundays she teaches Sunday school
        and sings in the choir?
        
                I can empathize the pain, suffering, hurt and trauma
        that any couple or individual is going through with a crumbling
        marriage with out his divine help and guidance. With out my 
        Christian values, believes, and along with a lot of Daryl's 
        off line help, and support I don't know where or what I would 
        be doing right now.
        
                So, my prayers and thoughts are with them!!!!!!!

Just received a prayer request from Hazza (Harry Woodward-Clarke, ex mod);

    Prayer requested for Paul at Johnson & Johnson and his wife as she has
    just had a miscarriage.   The baby was due in three months time.  It
    happened day before yesterday or yesterday; not sure.  They are not
    Christians as far as he knows, but "Paul is not hostile, if you know
    what I mean."

    Paul probably won't be back to work until next Monday.  Hazza is going
    to try and prepare himself to minister in this situation.
    
    Prayers therefore requested for Paul, his wife, probably their family
    as well, and Hazza as he works for God...

(Hope I got that right from the telephone conversion...)

Thank You LORD, for a fifth blessing in Your image for the Lovik family May
this one be surrounded with Your presence from the womb; turned in Your
time to delight their hearts with an arrival in the faily home, as blessed 
by Your presence... 

For Kevin, LORD, I thank You for rich mercies and tokens of Your
faithfulness received so far, and cling to You for unseen blessings yet to
come.  Ah! LORD, Your love for him exceeds human love - only You know what
warfare is being waged in the heavenly realms here... but LORD, we plead
for Your hand of healing upon him moment by moment, and particularly for
Friday.  That Your hand would be over that of the surgeon, guiding every
move; that Your breath would be in this little lad, who has seen so little 
of the wonderful creation  - the work of Your hands, for mankind to
enjoy...  LORD - grant Kevin great enjoyment in it!!!  for the years ahead,
in Your service... 

My LORD God, I hold Charlie up before you for Your encouragement and
presence in solitude; Your companionship in loneliness; Your love soothing 
away doubts and fears, and Your strength at every turn...  

My LORD precious Jesus, may Your hand be upon my dear brother Hazza to 
minister in this loss.  Grant that Paul and his wife may be opened to You 
with softened hearts through this, and not hardened ... MayYour Name be 
glorified here...

And lastly, LORD, I pray for the unnamed brother who's wife is in the toils 
of the enemy, deluded by the false wisdom of man under the influence of the 
enemy.  LORD, I pray that the spell, the grip, be broken; that she will see 
through the false guidance she is given.  LORD, of Your mercy, draw aside 
the veil for an instant, to grant her a glimpse of what she is losing.  Not 
only a husband, but the blessedness of her walk with You.  Exchanging life 
for death...  My LORD, low the enemy's cover here, and may YOUR Name be 
glorifed...

    Good news.  My husbands aunt Pearl is going to be fine.  She had heart
    problems yesturday, and I don't have all the details, but I prayed a
    special prayer for her yesturday at lunch due to the fact that Marks
    mother was going to be with her.  I didn't want demonic things
    happening around her while she was helpless.  Anyway, I praise you God
    for making her healthy again, and pray that your will be done
    concerning her.
    
    My husband still has a problem with worrying, but is getting better.  I
    know that this kind of problem doesn't go away over night, but I know with
    God all things are possible, and I pray that Mark will let go of this 
    problem that has plagued him.
    
    
    Thanks for everyone's prayers.   Please continue in prayer for my
    mother-in-law and her companion, as they are involved in demonic

    Hey, I forgot to ask for prayer for me.  This sounds silly, but I need
    your prayers in my battle to lose weight.  I'm unable to do it by
    myself.  Anyway, my knee's are going to pot because of this problem,
    and I'm sure my heart doesn't like it either.

Subject: URGENT PRAYER UPDATE                                        

Kevin Gross is a 1 1/2 year old little boy who was diagnosed last June with 
brain cancer with six months to live. His parents Rick and Melinda (both 
long-time former Digital) are Christians who have used this as an 
opportunity to witness their faith and dependence on God. They have also 
depended on your DCF prayer support.

This week is resolution week for Kevin. We asked for your prayers for 
Tuesday: final consultations with surgical team; Wednesday: angiogram to 
seal off "bleeder" vessels in the brain attached to the tumor. Friday: 
surgery day to remove about 90% of the tumor. 

The critical concerns before surgery Friday were: accessibility of tumor, 
bleeding problems, and general danger of anesthesia/surgery. It now appears 
that God has done the advance preparation! 

I JUST RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE HOSPITAL WHILE KEVIN IS STILL IN ANGIOGRAM 
SURGERY!! THE DOCTOR SENT A NOTE OUT TO HER THAT THE TUMOR IS NO LONGER 
ATTACHED TO ANY BLEEDER VESSELS AND IS NOT ATTACHED TO ANY UNACCESSIBLE OR 
MAJOR PORTION OF THE BRAIN ITSELF! 

Please continue to pray and praise God for His awesome power and gentle 
care.

    Praise you Lord for your mercy and love for little Kevin and his
    family.

    Personal friends of mine have probable bad news.  Their third born
    [newly born] child may be retarded.  The boy is having seizures and his
    brain is too small.
    
    I know another couple who had a "challenged" middle child (not severely
    retarded.  I expressed my sympathy one day over coffee with this
    church construction worker foreman and he said, "Don't feel sorry. My
    wife and I look at it that God thought that we were special enough to
    handle the added care for Pam."
    
    While I know that Phil and Anne Kanter are special people, I am sure
    that Len and Peg McLaughlin went through some tough times to come to
    that opinion of their parenting.  Phil and Anne just completed a move
    to Wisconsin (added trauma of uprooting) and are now faced with this
    bleak news.
    
    Pray with me that the Lord will be glorified in all circumstances, even
    through this troubling time for Phil and Anne, and also for their
    comfort and peace during this trying time.

 My son's chicken pox appear to be subsiding, however I found out last night

 prayer..I told his mother last night that a whole bunch of folks from all
 over the country (world for that matter!) have been praying for his recovery
 and return to the Lord..he was asleep so I hope the message gets to him..


 I'd also appreciate prayer for me..I am (again) trying to quit smoking..I
 confessed to the Lord my weakness and am confident that through Him I can
 kick this addiction..but I'd appreciate the prayer.

    Today is the 25th anniversary of the LIVE CAPTURE of *S/Sgt. James
    Michael Ray, U.S Army, 525 Military Intelligence Group - Team 38.
    He was born in Cambridge, MA on 10 Nov. 1949.  His dad and step-mom,
    Charlie and Jean Ray, live in Santa Marie, Calif.
    
    On 18 March 1986, while serving as a radio telephone operator on a road
    clearing mission with the ARVNs near Di Linh in Lam Dong Province, Pfc.
    Ray's unit began to receive heavy fire.  Although wounded by an
    explosion, Pfc Ray engaged by fire a number of enemy who were
    andvancing upon his position.  Despite his efforts, Pfc Ray's position
    was overrun and he was taken prisoner.  *(Promoted during period
    through 1974.)  He was awarded a Purple Heart and Bronze Star, First
    Oak Leaf Cluster, for his actions on the day of his capture.
    
    Other awards he received:  Siver Star for gallantry in action in
    Vietnam during the period July 1969; Purple Heart (First Oak Leaf
    Cluster) for wounds received in action in Cambodia on 30 Nov. 1969;
    Bronze Star Medal for meritorious achievement in ground operations
    against hostile forces in Southeast Asia from 18 March 68 to 30 Nov.
    69.
    
    According to records in his file he was captured 18 March 1968.  He
    died in captivity 11 June 1969, he attempted escape on 4 July 1969.

    There were letters in his file "written" by 'eye witnesses" to his
    death.  The govt hadn't counted on his step-mom, Jean, contacting these
    men.  Gary Guggenberger and Felix Nece-Quinones have both sworn that
    the statements attributed to them are totally false.
    
    In a letter to his folks written 26 Nov. 84, Col. Gerald S. Venanzi
    states:  
    
    "Although no one seems to have been a first hand witness to your son's
    death, it appears evident that someone matching Jimmy's description
    apparently died...
    
    "I have informed the U.S. Army that they correct Jimmy's record to
    reflect that Mr. Guggenberger was not in the same bunker with your son. 
    However, whether or not they were in the same bunker does not bear
    directly on what happened to Jimmy.            
    
    "I hope this information is useful to you in our mutual effort to
    understand what happened to your son while he was a POW."
    
    Gary was not only NOT in the same bunker as the govt claimed, he says
    he never knew Jim.  Felix also says he never knew or saw Jimmy.

    I would like to request prayer for my sister-in-law, who is
    20, unmarried, and.....pregnant.  Praise God she didn't listen
    to Pro-Health (Planned Parenthood) and get an abortion!  She is
    going to raise the baby.
    
    As you can imagine, this came as quite a shock to the family,
    ("nice" Catholic girls don't do this, you know :-))
    
    Mother and Father took it quite hard, but are coming to terms with
    it and are being quite supportive at this point in time.
    
    My husband and I are walking the fine line of "love the sinner,
    hate the sin" i.e., how do we show our love and support for her
    without condoning what she did?
    
    Above all, we want Christ's love to shine through us.  We pray
    for her salvation, as well as that of her parents.
    
    Fortunately, my mother-in-law and I have a close relationship
    and she has talked at length with me about the situation.  I 
    always ask the Lord to go before me and give me the words to
    say - please pray for same to continue.
    
    Also, pray that direction will be given as to if/when she should
    marry the father.

  Have her over for dinner (if that's a comfortable social setting)
and speak of things as they always were.  It will go a long way in
showing her that she is accepted.  Wrappig your arms around her at
this time in now way says, "I condone what you did."  For starters,
we are not in the position to condone nor condemn. 
  If your sister-in-law is contrite about the matter, do everything 
you can about making her feel again part of the family; if she is 
not contrite, do everything you can to show her that you love her 
despite the obvious disagreement over her rebellion and choice (which
occurred before she knew she was pregnant).
  Lastly, prepare for a new member of your *family*.  Whether or
not the other parent is involved, you have a NEW person coming into
this world who needs an Aunt and Uncle to show him or her Who Jesus
is.

As Mark said, the balance of your external attitude depends on her stance.
Contrition or blas� indifference to the deed...  The man in 1 Corinthians 5 
who falls into gross sin is welcomed back when there is true repentance in 
2 Corinthians 2:6 / 7:9.  And if she feels genuine support, she will feel 
less forced into a position of rebellion.

We also need to be praying right from now, for the child who is growing, 
who will come into the world with no father, but a loving, supporting
extended family, for protection even in the womb, from the inevitable fears
of the mother, from prejudices....  This is a total person, who is starting
life with a social disadvantage which can be cancelled out by the work of
God inside......

    This is part of the problem, I guess, is that she doesn't seem
    repentant.  In our society, this is "acceptable".  Many of her friends
    have found themselves in the same situation without the support she
    is receiving.  I think she is confusing our (meaning the family as a 
    whole) love and support as giving our "blessing" or "OK" to the 
    situation.  Whereas if her parents had reacted not as positively
    and supportively, she might feel a little more guilt/shame.
    
    I have come to the point where I am not going to judge her (because
    in my heart I have been).  I know that nothing I can say or do will 
    change her, only God can convict her of the wrongness of her actions.
    I need to do what God tells all of us to do: Love one another. 
    
    And yes, Andrew, we must pray that the baby would not pick up
    any rejection, negative feelings or fear from her.  Even with
    the support she is receiving, I know she is very scared of what
    the future holds.
    
    Also please pray that the Lord would give her the emotional 
    strength and maturity she needs to deal with this.  She is
    quite young, emotionally, for her age and depends on Mom alot.
    (Which Mom likes.)  This is not healthy for either of them, 
    and Mom is quite controling/manipulative.  This could become a 
    problem when the child is born, as Laura and the baby will still 
    be living at home.
    
    When I feel burdened by this, I have to remember that it is not
    MY job to find the solutions to all of this.  This is something I 
    can't fix - only Jesus can.
    
    It really hurts me to see her going through all this.

    You are right dear one that this is God's problem, not yours.  You are
    right again to love her without passing judgement upon her.  
    
    Please consider also that God can care for this child in a way which we
    cannot see - He works invisibly.  Also realize that children have a way
    of maturing a person rather quickly and anyone that has had any will
    testify to this as the truth.  I too have struggled with loving the
    sinner, hating the sin - and I have failed in the past with my own
    family due in part to my erroneous belief that it was up to me to
    ensure that the person knew the wrongness of their actions. 
    Thankfully, God has given us a conscience which when violated, accuses
    us.  She knows what she has done is wrong.  And she probably knows that
    you are conscious of her sin.  Your love demonstrated to her, in spite
    of the circumstances, will make a big impression with her.  Remember
    that Jesus loved us and died for us while we were yet sinners.  That
    truth melted my heart and continues too - the depth of love in it.
    
    As you may know I recently lost my precious daughter to a tragic death. 
    My father, who is a hateful and aggressive atheist, under the full
    influence of Satan attempted to, what would seem almost, crush my very
    heart at my daughters funeral by arguing with me over her casket over
    life and death issues.  My father was talking about all of life that
    she would miss and I told him that life was really full of much pain,
    trial and tribulation and that she would miss all of that and that she
    was with God, in a far better place.  I also told him that the meaning
    of life was to glorify God.  And he wanted to argue with me right there
    over my daughter's dead body, 10 minutes before her burial that this
    could not be the goal of life (glorifying God, that is).
    
    As you can imagine he hurt me terribly by his lack of love or
    compassion toward me.  In my mind if I had said she was now on the moon
    where cheese is plentiful (and she loved cheese) and that life was
    meant to pursue dairy products, and if that brought me comfort why
    couldn't he say "yes, you're right, she is in a better place", knowing
    full well that I was pitifully mistaken.  This is the love I sought. 
    
    To make a long story short, my father's birthday was this week and as
    always I struggled to find a birthday card that was fitting, and my
    first thought was to let him have it for being such an ass.  But I
    prayed about it and I had the absolute certainty (you know, one of
    those spiritual things that cannot be explained) that simply writing
    nothing but "With Love" was enough to point out his failure to him
    (because he knew what he did) but more importantly a simple statement
    of love was a true testimony to God our Father and His reality in my
    life.
    
    Sorry for such a long note and anything that is not clear.  The point
    is we all know our sin.  It is God's love that most often moves our
    heart to repentance.  And we who are His and living His way can express
    His love very well, under His guidance and in His Spirit.

     I honestly believe that your proclamation of faith, in the midst of the
     most trying circumstance I can possibly imagine did more to skewer your
     father's hopeless atheism than anything else you could have ever done
     or will ever do. It was *this* pointed realization against which he was
     kicking, I perceive. It is good to know that you can still sing, "It Is
     Well With My Soul" and mean it. It was written under similar
     circumstances as you are now surviving.

     May the L_RD continue to hold you in the palm of His hand.

Our son Andy was hospitalized in Pennsylvania during the night last
night with flu-like symptoms, chills, low blood pressure, dehydration,
etc. He's on an IV, they're running tests, and that's about all we
know right now. He's due to graduate this May, so has only March and
April left of schoolwork. It's a heavy load so he can't miss too much
of school, either.

Prayers on all fronts would be appreciated.

    Since Caroline's death we are assessing everything in our lives looking
    at what is there as well as what is not there, from a Biblical
    perspective.  Honestly, I believe I will come  to say one day, as Paul
    said, that I count all loss as gain for the knowledge and riches of
    Jesus Christ.  It sounds ridiculous maybe to some and it sure did to me
    until lately.  
    
    Anyway, we are reassessing our purposes and ideas about the role of  and
    our role in the local church (body).   We believe we want to go in new
    directions with a different church.  My desire is that we will come to
    a decision and that our faith will carry us to the *best* place for us
    and for the body.  Will you pray for us in this matter?  No church is
    perfect and we are not looking for such.  We know what we are looking
    for and we know what we believe the Bible says should be the
    characteristics of the local church.  Now, if we can only find one that
    either is what we are looking for or desires to be all that the Bible
    defines, we'll be content.  We don't have a lot of choices in rural
    Georgia.

Yesterday the doctors told my sister, JoAnn Cammers, that there was nothing 
more that could be done concerning her fight with cancer.  The cancer has begun
to spread and is not responding to any of the chemo therapy treatments.  She is
beginning to weaken and has not been able to eat any solid food for months.
This Easter weekend we plan on traveling to Wisconsin to visit JoAnn and the 
rest of my family.  I am not sure what JoAnn's spiritual status is.  Please 
pray.

    Wow, do I understand that disappointment... so very much.  As I read
    your note, I couldn't help be remember the ache deep inside of me when
    my ex would say he would go with me to church and then take it back.
    
    I remember feeling as though I had been violated in some soft way..
    almost as though something I'd done, had caused this *blessing* to be
    removed.  Sasha, I don't know if this below will make any sense at all,
    its a piece of wisdom, I wish had come prior to experience.  I've put
    it in here before and it won't be new, but I pray God can use it to
    help you through a painful time.  You see, we want *so* much to see our
    husband's know Him, and then when something uncontrollable happens,
    such as his denial of going to church, we feel a *little* abandoned and
    powerless.  Please read below prayerfully.
    
    
    	Powerlessness is the epitomy of emotional torture.  Yet, 
    	it is within that same feeling of powerlessness therein 
    	lies the answer.  By admitting that we are powerless over 
    	anything, or another person is exactly where God want us
    	to be.  It is then, that God can do His greatest work within 
    	a person.

    Good Morning all,
    
    This morning when we woke up we got a phone call from downstairs. (My
    in-laws live with us in an apartment there.  Both in wheelchairs.)  My
    father-in-law (77 with prostate cancer and Parkinson's) had diahrea and
    was bleeding internally.  We got him cleaned up and called the
    ambulance.  Sandy is at the hospital with him right now and I haven't
    heard anything yet.  Thank God for great kid's.  They cleaned up the
    mess after Sandy and Lloyd left so I could go to work.(I'm a contractor
    so if I don't come I don't get paid) To be honest with I don't know
    what to pray for.  He is a Christian and he's been so sick and
    miserable that he just wants to die but I just don't feel comfortable
    praying for that because, being his caregiver, I often wonder if I'm
    being selfish in praying for that.rather than healing.  I know that God
    is in control and I sometimes feel that praying that "God's will be
    done" is often a cop-out.  Please, just pray as the Holy Spirit leads
    you.

    Thank you all for your prayers.  I spent most of yesterday at the
    hospital.  Lloyd is completely at peace with the Lord and only desires
    to be home with Him.  He is in *no* discomfort whatsoever.  They gave
    him 3 pints of blood yesterday but he asked that they give him no more
    as he is only bleeding it out again.  We continue to praise God and ask
    that He be glorified through this.  The contrast between Lloyd and the
    other two men in his room is like the difference between night and day.
    Neither of them know the Lord and both of them are mentally gone. 
    Lloyd's physical appearance continues to deteriorate but as he draws
    closer to the Lord his spirit becomes obviously more and more alive. 
    It is remarkable to watch.  What a blessing to share so intimately in
    this glorious homecoming.  Continue to pray that God will minister to
    the rest of the family.  There are those who don't really understand
    what is going on and emotions run high.

    Hi All:
    
    As you may have heard on the local news (Mass.), there was a little boy
    and girl, 4 and 3 yrs. old respectively, who were killed in Templeton
    when playing on a front end loader.  It seems the two were in the
    bucket when the 13 yr. old step daughter was playing with the controls
    in the cab and the two poor little kids were struck down and died.
    
    We here in Boxboro heard this before anybody else.  Our group
    secretary is the aunt of these little children.  She lived down the
    street from them and was like their mother.  Needless to say she was a
    wreck as she got the news over the phone last Friday.
    
    Please pray for her.  Her name is Nancy Gonelli.  We just had a meeting
    with EAP to discuss the tragedy.  As Solomon said, "I saw what there
    was under the sun, and everything was futile."  Especially in light of
    these types of incidents.
    
    Pray for the family also.

    read it to her.  She said "Daddy just said that".  As an aside, her
    sister asked him what he thought about all that has been going on and

	Dave, thanks for sharing that!

	My husband's grandfather Ray is in UMASS Hospital.  He went in
	8 days ago for "routine" surgery, expecting an overnight stay.
	We found out on Easter that he's still there, due to fluid in the
	lungs, something wrong with his aortic valve (got this from a nurse,
	so I don't know the details), and anemia which required a blood
	transfusion on Saturday night. 

	We visited him Sunday evening, and our visit seemed to help lift
	his spirits somewhat (especially when we got Emily to say "PAPA" for
	the first time).  He's been quite depressed over the last few years,
	mostly relating to his age (83) and just generally not feeling
	well.  He is not saved, but we're praying for him.  Like Dave,
	I don't really know what to pray.  His wife is a strong Catholic,
	but I don't know the last time he went to church.  We told him
	we've been praying for him - he said, "I'm praying, too, all the time,
	but it doesn't do any good."  

	I'd appreciate any prayers you feel led to offer.

Dear Family!  You have been so gracious in your prayers for Elaine and me
for nearly three months now.  I praise and thank God that you have been willing
to help me carry my burdens.  I have a large Christian family so you can be
comforted to know that we have not been alone through our trials, even though
you could not physically be present.  But I know you would be if you could and
that is praiseworthy and comforting to me!

Tomorrow morning at 10:30 our child shall be born.  Please remember us tonight
and tomorrow.  Pray for joy for us.  Pray for safety for Elaine and the
baby.  And pray for Elaine that she be of sound mind.  And pray that fear
would not attack us in the night or in the morning.

I'm back from Pennsylvania, where I met with the oncologist.
..The good
news (I think) is that Erik may not have to have the surgery. They
feel confident that chemotherapy will (most likely) do the job. Erik
starts chemo on April 26th, as things stand right now. I'llbe going
out there at that time.

    Many of us know Irena.  Well, her second son Erik had a
    cancerous tumor removed recently.  He's only in his early

    went home to be with the LORD last night about 11:45 pm.  I wasn't
    there but his 3 children were and they literally prayed him out of this

    they were personally escorting him to the gates of heaven.  Praise God
    for His mercy and grace.

    Well, Connie was having contractions for most of the night.  Things are
    going a bit slow today -- probably because she is so tired out.  Pray
    for her to be able to get a little rest (between contractions!) and
    that the labor might really get going.  (For the technically oriented,
    the nurse stopped by the house to check -- she was about 4 mm dialated
    and 70% effaced at 9:00 this morning.  Last birth, she went from 8mm to
    baby in about 5 minutes, though.  I don't want to wait until the last
    minute to call the midwives!)  It is almost certain that I'll have more
    news before the end of the day!

    their families.  
    
    Authorities attacked it with tear gas, it caught on fire, and 4-5
    people may have survived.  This just happened and I'm sure there will

    I would like to ask for prayers for Fran and me. We're scheduled to
    sing a program at my church this Wednesday night. We had to postpone it
    once because I caught something and had laryngitis for a few weeks and
    now Fran has turned up with the same thing - started Friday night. The
    combination of our voices and the music we've chosen for the program
    have the potential to be a very powerful effort for the Lord. Please
    pray for Fran's recovery and her voice and for our program.

    I have several things on my heart to ask for prayer today:
    
    1.  My nephew through my ex-husband was electricuted last
        Wednesday.  Emmanuel was 15 years old.  Rafael's brother
        had 9 girls and 3 sons, all 3 sons have died.  
        Emmanuel was 3 years old when I married Rafael and
        we both were very fond of him.  This death is a tragedy
        to our families.  Emmanuel was a valiant young man, he
        was studious, strong and helpful at home. In Mexico where
        Emmanuel and his family lives life is not easy, the whole
        family worked together to support themselves just for
        basic needs.  They got their first telephone in the home
        6 years ago.  Running water only lasts for a few hours a
        day into their home.  The death of Emmanuel has also caused
        pause for thought to Rafael's own immortality, for this
        and this only am I thankful.  Please pray for the comfort
        of the families and for Rafael's hunger and thirst to not
        be quenched by anything but the Lord.
    
    2.  A previous DEC employee's wife commmitted suicide this past
        February 9th.  He was married for 4 years.  He accepted
        Christ as Savior 3 years ago, she did too.  However,
        she had been anorexic for nearly 10 years prior to
        her salvation.  He is coming over to my house tonight
        for dinner.  Please pray that I can be of some comfort
        and encouragement to him.

Rich Allen was involved in an auto accident Sunday (April 27) afternoon. 
He was traveling south on By-pass 28 turning left onto Spofford, when a 
Ford Bronco hit his Fiat.

Rich is in a coma at Elliot hospital in Manchester. His prognosis is
not good. The cat scan revealed a clot at the base of the brain, (indicative
of brain damage). He has shown no movement and is on a respirator.

His wife is naturally very shaken and is asking for prayers for Rich's 
recovery. It's now wait and see.

Some of the people who work with Rich are keeping in touch with his wife and
will let us know of changes in his status.

    My best friend's brother is dying of aids... she just a call from her
    mother stating the Louie has gone down very quickly in the last 48
    hours and probably won't make it for too much longer.
    
    She has asked that we pray for his suffering to end, he is saved,
    though only recently.  Louie is the man that I have written about in
    here before [previous conference] that began living the gay lifestyle
    at age 25 and was saved though the witness of my friend [his sister].

PAUL MEREDITH REPORTS:

I visited the hospital last night. Rich is still in a coma and on a 
respirator. Fortunately, he has no other major injuries (like broken bones).

He is starting to respond to voices and they believe he opened his eyes
for a couple of seconds. He started to move his legs when I mentioned
biking up a hill (blood pressure and heart rate increases). The nurses
are also trying to get him to respond (light in the eyes and pushing on 
his arm/chest).

All of this is much better news as he is responding to outside stimulus.
His doctor wants to have him "emerge" from the coma before they do anything
else.

Keep the prayers coming.

    I had a telephone call at home this morning before I left for work from
    a fellow Digital worker, who for the sake of anonimity I shall for the
    time being refer to as Susan, although Andrew will know who I mean.
    
    Her husband who is not a Christian, was arrested by the Police a couple
    of weeks ago on a suspected fraud charge, but later released on bail 
    whilst they commenced investigations. When they contacted him yesterday
    to advise him of the potential extent of his liabilities he seemed to
    "snap" (Susan's word) and is now talking, seemingly seriously of
    suicide. I have suggested that she immediately contact the Pastor of
    our church in case he could go and talk with her husband.
    
    That is all I know for the moment, and as I am unable to get into notes
    as frequently as I would like due to other pressures, maybe Andrew will
    be able to post updates on the situation as and when appropriate.
    
    But for the time being "Susan" would value your prayers, espaecially
    over the course of the next few critical days.

    I just got a call from my wife.  It seems that one of the blood tests
    from Susanna may indicate a problem -- something like galactosemia, a
    problem digesting milk.  The midwife said this is the first time
    they've ever had anything show up in the newborn blood tests.  We're
    taking Susanna in tonight to get another test as a confirmation.  In
    the meantime, we need to be starting her on soy milk as a precaution. 
    My real desire is that the new test will show up clear.  Pray for
    wisdom in the meantime, as we need to be taking some specail care in
    case there is a problem.  We'll know the results of the latest test on
    Tuesday.

	When I had a miscarriage two years ago, I prayed to the Lord for
	guidance.  I opened my bible, and found Jeremiah 17:5.  I'd never
	read anything in Jeremiah before.  Here it is:

	"But I will bless the person
	who puts his trust in me.
	He is like a tree growing near a stream
	and sending out roots to the water.
	It is not afraid when hot weather comes,
	because its leaves stay green;
	It has no worries when there is no rain;
	** it keeps on bearing fruit **."  (Emphasis mine)

	That night when my husband got home, he turned to me and said,

	that you and Danese will not cease to bear fruit!

    Well, after the blood test on Susanna came back positive for
    galactosemia last Friday, we rushed over to the midwive's that evening
    to get a re-test in the works (another jabbing of the baby's heel).  I
    made sure that the test got in the mailbox to go out at 7:00 a.m.
    Saturday morning, so that it should get to the lab in Springfield (IL)
    on Monday, and we'd have the results of the test today.  We "stocked
    up" on a 4-day supply of soy-based formula (we're alternating between
    nursing and the formula until we find out for sure....).  The midwife
    called Springfield earlier today -- the lab guy said he'd let her know
    when the results were known.  A little while ago, Connie got a call
    from the midwife, and ....
    
    Springfield hasn't gotten the second test in the mail yet.  If they get
    it tomorrow, they'll have the results available on Thursday.  So, two
    more days of waiting....
    
    Susanna is doing fine at this point.  She was at the pediatrician
    yesterday -- she now weights 9 pounds (90 or 95th percentile!), no
    evidence of any effects from galactosemia (liver not enlarged, eyes
    clear, no increase in jaudice).  So for now, we are still waiting.  If
    the second test is also positive, the pediatrician will do a more
    thorough test to find out how severe of a case she is (whether it will
    mean total avoidance of dairy, or just milk drinking).

          We have now are blessed with five children! PTL!

The police enquiries were apparently based on a very inflated idea of what
the had happened, so there is every likelihood of the case being dropped
(from a non-professional view). 

However the marriage has been under severe strain for a long time, and
'Susan' was planning (for the second time) to move out when the police
called.  This was delayed a few days, to see her husband over the immediate
crisis, but they are now living apart. 

Prayers are still appreciated, for Susan's husband to be aware of the
LORD's working in his life, and for the maturity to be able to support a
wife...

    Then, Father, for Susan, Oh, how my heart aches for this grieving
    woman. May she find her heart filled with your love, with her knowledge
    as wisdom from above and Lord, most importantly that she be intimate
    with You as though there is no-one else in her life.  May she know the
    presence of Your courage and strength in her heart that will sustain
    her through the despair she is currently facing.
    
    And Father for Jeff, I pray that You would find him a place of solace,
    of rest for just a while to regain strength in You.  The trials that
    have been brought his way, Lord, have been difficult ones, but You know
    that and you have found him a worthy vessel for more trial.  I ask that
    his purification be tempered by His love for You.  Give him the fruits
    of your Spirit, wisdom,temperance and truth by which to confront his

    Y'all please pray for Rebecca.  Her doctor told her she has walking
    pneumonia, strep throat and a sinus infection.  She's very tired.

    Thank you for your prayers (again!).  You do know that our God is
    faithful, don't you?!  He has heard the prayers of His people!  My
    father dropped all action and signed the papers, I remained Christlike
    in my words and actions and my mother was calmed.  The fact that my
    father's heart was changed is significant - he is a hard man, plotting
    evil all day long, and quite clever and determined.
    
    I praise God!  My mother has learned a large lesson concerning God's
    provision.

 For some time I've been praying and worrying and wrestling about my kids and
 their relationship to Christ.  While my life has changed, and I'm sure they've
 seen it, they've been less than enthusiastic about coming to church with me,
 though praise His name, Scott, my 10 year old came to church with me this last
 week.

 At any rate, I felt the Lord tell me the other day that I should wait, allow
 Him to work and He would provide the opportunities for them.  Well, last night
 I called my kids and spoke to Chris my 16 year old and mentioned the softball
 game and he said he'd like to come!  No problem, said I, as the teen class
 teacher, the former teen class teacher and youth minister other teens *and*
 the pastor will be there!  Quite an opportunity I would say.



 So, I'd appreciate prayer for Chris and Scott as well as my oldest son Sean
 who has indicated a willingness to help with some construction work at the
 new property for the church!

    ago her mom died.  She just returned from her father's funeral

My wife still has pneumonia and has not yet progressed much.  I have since
come down with a cold.  She see the doctor tomorrow.  I'm off to go make

	How is Danese doing ?

    Speaking of lunch-time activities;
    
    Nine of us here in Sydney participate in a networked Startrek
    simulation game for half an hour at lunch times each day.  It is a very
    social game that stresses teamwork rather than rapid keyboard action.
    It has sprung up from only three players to nine in just the last week.
    
    The department numbers 65, of which nine are Christians.
    
    Four of the nine players are Christians, which goes to show that
    Christians have much more fun...
    
    But despite us saying to each each other that we should keep down the
    amount of time we spend playing; and that lunch time games are only
    between 12:30 and 13:00, last night five of us managed to keep playing
    a game from 17:05 to 19:45.  Heavy.  
    
    We think we should tone it down a bit...
    
    I'm also thinking of starting a lunch-time bible study, since our
    building hasn't got one at the moment.  That'd be a great impact on the
    game; all the "nice" players would suddenly be unavailable for certain
    days of the week, yielding a bit of discussion amongst the players as
    to what on earth we are doing reading a book in a conference room
    instead of having fun...

    It's 10:15pm...

    I'm a member of a male acapella singing group with five members.  The
    group is called Adomen (Greek for We Sing), and we will be singing
    "It's me, It's me Oh Lord, standing in the need of prayer" this Sunday
    at an evening service...

    Prayer requests

    1)  For an ex-member of my singing group, Michael, who turned up at our
    practice tonight and resigned without warning.  We gather he has some
    problems, but he was not prepared to talk about them.  We'll probably
    find out more later.  This was to be the second last practice of six
    devoted to this new song for Sunday.

    2)  For the group itself; we've had to swap a few parts around to cope
    with the loss; there are now only four of us singing the three parts.

    3)  For the wife of the group's musical leader (Pam & David Moffat);
    she is 28 weeks pregnant, and is having to go to New Zealand for a few
    days on work.  She has been home for three days in the last three
    weeks; she just got back from Orange tonight, and has a
    gastro-intestinal infection of some sort.  She had to drive from Orange
    to Sydney; roughly 2-5 hours drive.

    (I wish I'd remembered my new 16 digit randomly generated password; I
    had to write this in my old account in a different site; I'm normally
    AUSSIE::CAMERON)

I thought I'd share a praise and a prayer request today.

Two women from our previous church gave birth to sons
on Tuesday.  Roy and Ellen (assistant pastor and wife)
had an uneventful delivery after last year having their
baby strangled in the umbilical cord the day before
labor.  Much praise!

Mike and Laura had their first child but he has been sent
to Children's Hospital in Boston after some complications.
Apparently, he has an enlarged liver, spleen and heart.
I'm not sure what this all means, but they expect him to
get worse before getting better and will be there at
least 2 weeks.  Much prayer needed.

    I thank you all for your prayers on behalf of my nephew Elvis 
    and parents. The diagnosis was, unfortunately, as we feared
    epilepsy. 
    
    I know the Lord can work a miracle in Elvis' life if He wills,
    but if He doesn't, my prayer is that the Lord gives the whole 
    family the wisdom to care for him in the best way possible, and
    that most important of all, He can allow this situation to 
    work as a way of drawing my brother and family closer to Him, 
    as they know *about* the Lord but haven't received Him as their 
    personal Savior.

Joy saw the doctor today who said she has viral pneumonia *and* asthmatic 
bronchitis.  She emptied out half the pharmacy (I'm exaggerating, but she did
have to take 7 pill plus 2 puffs on an aspirator).

The Doc says that if she gets worse or if she does not improve by
Tuesday, she's off to the hospital.  She'll be seeing the doctor on Monday
morning for progress.

As for the rest of us, I feel better than yesterday so my cold may be
running its course.  The food keeps coming in, and luckily, and woman
brough disposable plates, bowls, and cups, too.  (Phew!)  Despite
what you think, I am NOT an invalid, but they probably have some idea
as to how much our family relies on this one person.

On the hopeful side, if this medication she has now helps, we should see
a dramatic (though probably not drastic) turnaround in a few days.  
She should be up and about in a week and almost back to normal (though
tired) in a couple of weeks.  If...

So keep us in mind when you walk in the cool of the day with the Lord.

    My wife Petria works with a couple of other women for her sister's home
    business.  One of the women, Marlene, has told Petria this morning that
    her new nephew; born in the last few days, is in difficulties.  The
    baby was born a week early and has heart-lung troubles of some sort. 
    He has been transferred to another hospital and is on a heart-lung
    machine.
    
    The family involved has other children; at least one eighteen years
    old.  They are Roman Catholic followers.  Marlene had commented to
    Petria that she's been at Mass twice this weekend.  A priest has "given
    last rights", which we *guess* may mean that people don't hold much
    hope for survival.  Petria knows Marlene; I have not met her.
    
    Prayer requested for Marlene, the families involved, and Petria; for
    she was crying while telling me this over the phone just now...

to know the LORD....

Deb Belliveau and I saw Rich today. He is doing much better. He acknowledges
those in the room and is trying to talk. He smiled at a joke that Deb made.
(that he was getting fat free Thai food in his IV!)

He breathed on his own for 3 hours this morning and the doctor feels he will
make significant progress over the next few weeks as the swelling goes down.

Deb and I were very encouraged by what we saw and that Rich is really
getting his thought processes together.

    Please keep Fran in your prayers.  She's had a severe pain in her upper
    back for about two weeks now which doesn't seem to be improving. The
    pain moves through her right shoulder and radiates down her arm. She's also
    having pain in her left hip. She goes back to the doctor today at 3:45.

Do you use chiropracters?  My wife found them very good for back pain, and 
the sort of thing you describe.

    I don't think her medical coverage will cover a chiropractor, but I
    agree that they're a viable alternative. I'm just hoping it's not a
    disc - she's in an awful lot of pain.

    As the moderator of this notesfile, I am going to abuse my rights and
    do something that may seem inappropriate. I apologize to anyone who
    might be offended.
               
    I found out recently that David Stone has been diagnosed with a very
    serious form of cancer. The news shocked and deeply saddened me. I 
    want him to know how much he has meant to me. 

    I am going to write David, and I would like to invite all of you to
    join me. I will send a package off to him on Wednesday, May 26th. If
    you want to add something, please send it to me on NAS007::MUELLER
    before the end of the day on the 26th. From Wednesday, May 19th, I will
    have a card here for people to sign--sorry to those too far away to be
    able to sign, but you are welcome to send me signed cards (or anything
    you would like to share with him) if you like. My office address is

    I spoke to Fran. Because of the weakness she's experiencing in her
    hand/arm, the doctor's concerned that there may be some nerve
    involvement, and is scheduling her for an MRI, but that could take
    seven to ten days to happen. She continues to be in a lot of pain.

	Please pray for my father-in-law, Mark.

	As you may recall, Mark had a heart attack in early March,
	which led to a quadruple by-pass.  They were in Florida at the time.

	Mark and his wife, Terry, are now home, and we got to see them this
	weekend.  Mark has lost about 40 pounds, which is about how much
	he needed to lose.  He looks very good, but is suffering with
	constant indigestion and nausea ever since the surgery.  He gets
	ill from almost anything he eats, and now rarely has the desire
	to eat.  His doctors are trying to determine if one of his medications
	may be causing the problem.  It's a frustrating situation, and has
	me greatly concerned for his overall health.
	
	We'd appreciate your prayers for Mark and Terry (who are both
	saved).

    I found out from parents that my uncle is holding stable.
    He is not losing more weight.  He is more conversational
    and sleeps less.  They actually were able to take him out
    of the house for a Sunday drive on Mother's Day.

My wife has no appreciable change, which is not uncommon for viral pneumonia.
Antiboitics won't touch it.  I have a cold with lots of phlegm (which I
hope is a sign that it is a cold and not what my wife has; she has dry 
coughs).

We're looking at weeks more of recovery and that's pretty emotionally draining
on her, me, the kids, the church, everyone.  There is something psychological
that illness should take its course and be done with in a maximum of two weeks.
Joy's been sick for 5 weeks, 2 of those with complete bed rest.  Occasionally,
we cry over ourselves, you know.  Most of the time, we take it well and see
God's hand in this anyway.  We haven't complained against Him at all, but
have expressed our desire to put this behind us.

I'm hoping I recover soon (or I'm going to get checked out myself) so I
can better deal with running the home (and I am very thankful for all the
help I'm getting from my church - quite refreshing and humbling).

I would ask that those who believe in God's power and soveriegnty to join 
me in asking Him for His mercy and grace to deal with this protracted illness,
if it is according to His glory that recovery takes a normal course of events.
Mercy for divine intervention would be gratefully received, but in my heart,
God must be glorified first and my desires are subject to His glory.  So please
pray mostly that God is honored through this, whatever course He chooses.

     Dear Fam'ly,

     I've just been TSFO'd. As a contract consultant, especially on
     customer-site, my situation is quite a bit more tenuous than if I were
     a regular, permanent DECcie. Among other things, I will receive no
     severance package. I will receive two weeks pay, as per the contract,
     but that's it. I am scurrying to find other employment. 

     I may or may not be able to respond to your replies or mail, so please
     understand if I don't. I won't be ingratitude, just lack of knowing
     that you even wrote. This is in addition to the other family problems
     which still exist. Frankly, I am more concerned for those issues than
     for the employment situation. Please pray hard! Satan's sifting myself
     and my family like wheat.

     I would very much appreciate anyone's help (and prayer!) with this! 

     I have need of short-term (hopefully) housing. I will accept anything
     from a room in a house to a 1 bedroom apartment. The need is fairly
     immediate - I need to move in the weekend of 05-JUN-1993. I would
     *strongly* prefer something in the Southern NH area, but would consider
     reasonably nearby MA locations, as well. 

     I cannot afford very much money, as I've just been TSFO'd and my final
     two weeks pay will perhaps have to go a ways. In addition, I have a
     (very house trained and quiet) Keeshond (small dog), with which I am
     not willing to part. Finally, I'll need to have some place to park and
     work on my old VW Kharman Ghia (she's tired, and needs frequent TLC).

     Frankly, I understand what I'm asking for is an incredible level of
     mercy from a landlord, but that's about my only choice. If anyone can
     help, I would be extremely grateful. I can be reached through this

    been experiencing severe stomach pains.  

    At the moment the doctor doesn't know the exact cause of my
    problem.  I'm scheduled to have an endoscopy performed tomorrow.

I saw Rich at Elliot hospital Saturday evening, and he was looking better.
He was a little restless.

5/26/93

I talked with Isabel today. They have moved Rich to N.E. Rehabilitation Center
in Salem, NH. The trach tube was removed Monday. He can only whisper at this
time, but they expect him to talk soon. He is starting to eat by mouth.

They've begun his "rehabilitation" at NE. Rich is conscious but has very 
little memory. He had difficulty remembering the number of his children. The 
facility has a strong therapy program aimed at helping him regain his memory.

There are limits on visitors (like only 2 at lunch time) and expressed worry
to Isabel that she might bring "all" the kids as it might confuse him. 


Thanks for all of the support and prayers, they've certainly made a difference.

I saw my doctor this morning, I have a breast lump. She's sending me off for 
an ultrasound scan on Tuesday.
Intellectually, I'm sure I'll be fine. Emotionally, I'm having fits. Paranoids 
DO have enemies.
I probably won't be on Tuesday. (I cried on my manager this morning - tense is 
such an inadequate word)

     Brothers and Sisters,

     The L_rd has moved graciously in the area of employement prospects for
     me. The DEC Internal position for which I previously request prayer is
     still open, and they are willing to interview me for it. Thank you, L_rd.

     More specifically, I will participate in the first (of probably a
     series of) telephone interview(s) *this morning* at 1000, EST. I would
     *very much* appreciate a prayer covering for this interview. While I
     *do* have "a peace that passes all understanding" regarding my present
     and potential future employment situation, I am understandably a little
     nervous regarding this interview. Not only do I believe that this
     postion is "the position I've been looking for all of my career", but I
     am very desirous of being able to provide for my family on a continual
     basis, especially while we are physically separated. 

     I also completely realize that my security remains in Abba, so *not*
     getting this permanent position (the first one I've seriously persued
     in eight years!) would not alter my trust in Him *one little bit*.
     Moreover, I continue to recognize that my significance remains in
     Messiah Yeshua, so my perception of self-worth is not ultimately tied
     into whether or not I receive this position. Nevertheless, I believe
     that obtaining and doing well in this position *would* bring a great
     deal of personal satisfaction to me, would enable me to significantly
     contribute to Digital's business needs, and would also provide a more
     stable platform for ministering to the physical needs of my family.

    Brian Phaneuf had a heart attack last night.  He is currently in the
    ICU at Reddington Fairview hospital in Skowhegan, ME.  The nurse said
    that he is doing very well, and I was able to speak with him this
    morning.  He expects to have to stay there for a minimum of 8 days and
    is understandably scared, especially with the stress of the present
    situation.  Please join me in prayer for his physical and emotional
    healing as well as the healing of his family!

say this to Brian:

	The Lord is close to the brokenhearted
	and saves those who are crushed in spirit.	PS 34:18

Lord, we praise you for the work you have done and are doing through your
servant Brian.  I do not know him personally but believe him to be a very
humble, repentant and diligent man.  Please be close to him now and extend
your care for him; give him strength so that he can defeat the forces working
against him presently.  Quiet him with your love and fill him with peace in
the knowledge that this and every other situation is UNDER YOUR CONTROL.

brother-in-law, Paul.

    A good friend and dear brother in the Lord (Jim) has applied for a
    position in the Electric Utilities division here in Colorado Springs. 
    This position opened up when his supervisor retired and quite a few
    people have applied for the position.  He has an interview tomorrow
    (June 2) at 1:30.  Would you please pray that his interview would go
    well and, if it be God's will, he be selected to fill this opening.

    I wanted to ask again for prayers for Fran. Her MRI was negative, but
    she continues to suffer pain and has weakness in her right arm.
    This morning she has an appointment with the neurologist.

    Lord, have mercy on our dearly loved sister. Bring the peace of healing
    to her. Lord, guide the mind of the doctor today that he may be
    enlighted to the ailment and be able to be the vessel used by you to
    restore health to our sister Fran. Lord, they mercy endures forever!
    
    Father as in all things, 'Thy will be done.'
    

My link to CHRISTIAN is very variable.  Sometimes I have very quick response, at
other times it is vvvveeeeerrrrryyy ssssslllllooooowwww.  Would it be possible
it the prayer topic (and perhaps the praise topic, though it's not as much of an
issue) to separate responses to prayer from requests to prayer, as is done for
the introduction topic and the religion in the news topic?  I would not at all
want to eliminate the "Praying" responses to requests for prayer.  But when my
link is slow, it may take me several minutes to get through them, and I'm
unwilling to NEXT UNSEEN because I don't want to miss any further prayer 
requests.

I know it's a bit of a pain to go to another topic to respond, though if it's
the next consecutive topic it's pretty easy to just do "next topic" and then
respond.  And if this isn't an issue for anyone but me we can just forget about
it and I'll wade through.

Since the numbers for prayer and praise are already set, perhaps this will wind
up being a suggestion for the next version of CHRISTIAN.

    Please pray for my friend's brother who is dying of aids.  It'll be any
    day now that he passes on.  His suffering is beyond words at this time. 
    She's asking that we pray God spare him more of that suffering.
    
    Also, please pray for a family in San Jose, an 8 year old and mother
    lay dead at the hands of a man that *she* [emphasis for whom not
    gender] had an affair with.  He came into their disguised as a burglar
    and shot her, and the 3 kids before the husband chased him out of the
    house! The 2 older children are in critical but stable condition.
    
    The father of this family ended up at my co-workers front door [she
    lives in the neighborhood].  
    
    Please pray for the children who are wounded that they will recover not
    only from the physical wounds, but the emotional wounds encumbered by
    such an event.

Hello all,

This is a cross between Prayer, Praise and confusion.

History
My husband Greg's best friend is Peter. They went to school together. Peter
and his wife Judi have 2 children (one of whom is Greg's goddaughter). P & J
separated, but not divorced. They are not Christians. When David was born, we
discussed the matter of his godparents with our minister, and agreed that we
would ask Peter to be one of David's godparents, with the hope that David
would be used in part as the Lords tool for Peter.
Peter's parents, Malcolm (stepfather) and Pamela, are not Christians either.
Pam has become a very dear friend of mine since David's birth. They both know
of our faith, and have been sceptical until recently. We have prayed that the
light would touch them, we've prayed for healing and been answered.
Their business is in financial trouble, so they're depressed about that, and
about their son and family.
Pam & Malcolm went to church yesterday, and seemed to be open to the lessons.
The only difficulty they had with the lesson was the discussion of the occult,
and of evil. Apart from not really believing in such things, they don't
understand the WHY's. Why is there evil? Why does evil seem to flourish, and
corruption to conquer? Why do the innocent suffer?
I am going to spend a week with these friends soon. I don't have the answers.
I know where to get some of them (ask the Boss ;)), but I'm feeling
intimidated by the scope of all this.
So, all in all, I'd like some prayer please, for Pam & Malcolm, for Peter and
Judi & girls, and for me, and some wisdom....

I'd also like to discuss the "Why's" in a separate note.

    Just a quick update on my condition.

    The endoscopy went reasonably well (not painful but a little bit
    un-comfortable).  I have a duodenal ulcer which had started to
    bleed.  

    Thank you all for your prayers, I'd appreciate it if you could
    continue to pray for me, as a result of the bleeding from the
    ulcer my red blood cell and haemoglobin counts are extremely low

    At the moment I'm taking medicine for the ulcer and iron tablets
    for the blood problems, I'm still feeling pretty weak and tired
    but I'm trusting the Lord to strengthen me and carry me through.

    I bring before you a mixed prayer request and praise.
    
      My wife Danielle received notification late Friday that her job will
    be eliminated as of the end of the month. Danielle has logically
    accepted this and is quite happy to think she will have the summer off.
    
    However, Danielle, emotionally is devastated. To top it off, Danielle
    has jury duty from now, 7-JUN, to the end of the month. Danielle is not
    quite sure how to handle cleaning out her office, staying mentally
    competent for jury duty and becomming comfortable to be a *gulp*
    dependent. (You see, she has worked at DEC for 13 years!)
    
    Her spirit roller coasters and it is difficult for me, (as one who
    lacks emotion), to understand and to know how to act/react/DO NOTHING.
    
    So, although Danielle is essentially happy, and we praise God for the
    blessings He has given us, we also pray that this transition will be
    as painless as possible and that (we) can come to terms with a life
    style change so close to the Big life style change we *Just* went
    through (marriage).

    I'd like to ask your prayers for brothers and sisters who feel detached
    from the body, those who struggle with their identity in the L-rd,
    those who judge themselves so harshly without grounded, balanced
    teaching about G-d's truly unconditional love.  I just talked with a
    brother in the L-rd who doesn't feel like he's a brother anymore (but I
    know he is ;-).
    
    Also want to remind us all that we *all* struggle with fleshly
    temptations from time to time, and though we *should* "yield our
    members to Messiah in us", and "resist the devil [so] he will flee from
    [us]", we sometimes don't.  Thankfully, G-d's grace and mercy is so
    complete, He's given us the answer even for these mistakes in
    1John 1:9.

    A christian brother here at SHR, Dave Floyd, has asked for prayer for
    his daughter Toni Marie (also a believer) and for himself.  She left
    Kansas City for Colorado Springs last Saturday AM and hasn't been heard
    from since.  He said that she is a very responsible adult and that this
    is not like her. He's very worried.

     I would covet your continuing prayer for my impending (final) move from
     Maine back to New Hampshire. Specifically, that the L_rd will give me
     the physical strength and endurance to pack up the entire house in two
     days (Thursday & Friday are all that I'll have to do it in); that
     sufficient help will be there Saturday to load the truck (based on what
     I know, I have every reason to believe that that will be true); and
     finally, that enough people will make themselves available Sunday
     afternoon to unload the truck for me (of that, I am less certain).

     Also, I would most sincerely covet your continuing prayer for the
     complete healing and restoration of myself, my wife and my family. G_d
     is endeavoring in a significant way in our lives, and there is
     observable, positive change taking place in our relationships.
     Sometimes I get too impatient, earnestly desiring to be back with them.
     Nevertheless, I see good things beginnning to occur, especially between
     Robin and myself, so there is good reason for continued hope.

    Urgent Prayer Request ...
    
    My friend's Brother [who had aids] died yesterday.  She is flying to
    New Jersey this evening.  The situation there is real sticky.  Her
    Brother's companion is refusing to use Louis' money to pay for Louis'
    funeral.  Please pray for the family in this very stressful time.  They
    have lost a family member, are grieving and angry.  This combination is
    sort of like bleach and ammonia.

    As some of you may remember, Dan Yackel (what a guy!), has relocated to
    the Atlanta area.  I would like to request prayer for him and his
    family during this stressful time as they have been separated for some 
    weeks now and will be for more weeks to come.  Also, pray that his house 
    will sell (for the price he needs) in New Hampshire as this would mean a 
    relatively quick reunion of his family.

Please continue praying for Malcolm and Pam. I just had a call from Pam, 
Malcolm has been diagnosed as having acute depression - almost to the stage of 
having a nervous breakdown. He hasn't been looking after his diabetes either, 
so is physically ill as well. He is now on medication for the depression 
- they are both VERY distressed.
It also looks like they may have to sell their business, at loss of over $80,000
All their funds went into this - they would be "due" to retire in a couple of 
years. They may also have to sell their house (they're currently building)

Father God, please give us strength and wisdom, patience and faith, that we 
may see your path for us, and walk it with a lightened load, in joy.

    He found out this month that he has cancer. They think it may have

Brothers and Sisters,

I would once again bring my family before you for prayer.

There is much healing going in each of our lives individually, leading up 
to the important interpersonal healing that must preceed our restoration as
a family. 

I would covet your prayers first and foremost for myself, that I would
remain under the control of the Holy Spirit through all of this, that my
fleshly tendency toward impatience would be more and more subjected to His
pruning and discipline. I am currently receiving counseling from a wise and
experienced Christian counselor, who is also counseling my wife, Robin.

Secondly, I would seek your prayers for my wife, Robin, that she would have
the courage and strength to deal forthrightly with the issues and pains in 
her life (most of which pre-date our marriage) that this crisis has brought
to the fore. This is very difficult for her, in that her expressed primary
concern has been been the healing of the emotional and spiritual damage to 
our children. While I understand her concerns, and acknowledge their 
validity and seriousness, I also firmly believe that she is using her 
concerns for the children as a foil to avoid dealing with her own painful
issues from the past (recent, as well as ancient - BC - past).

Finally, I would dearly appreciate your prayer concerning the disaffection
of my children toward me. From information I am receiving admittedly 
second-hand, instead of their growing in forgiveness and pardon for the 
offenses I had committed against them (for which I have previously and 
earnestly repented and sought their forgiveness), just the opposite is 
happening. I believe that this is due, at least in part, to the environment
in which they are living - the family which is currently sheltering them 
apparently has taken great offense at that which I have done, and has, to 
this point, been unwilling to extend forgiveness toward me. I firmly believe
that this attitude, however uncounsciously, is being transmitted to my 
children, and is negatively effecting their healing and our restoration.
Please pray that the Holy Spirit will intervene (I cannot intervene at all -
I am currently being prevented from seeing my children, as I am totally
unwelcome at their home). 

Thank you very much for your on-going prayer support.

    This may seem trivial to some, but I believe God is concerned with all
    his children's needs.  I'm requesting that you keep our family and our
    new puppy in your prayers.
    
    The puppy we gave our kids for Christmas ended up having severe hip
    dysplasia and we were forced to put him to sleep on Saturday.  He
    yelped in pain just from trying to walk.  Having 4 children didn't make
    the decision any easier to implement, and the dog was great to the
    kids.  It was hard on them, but the breeder replaced the pup, and we
    picked up the 7-week old guy on the way home from the hospital.
    Please join me in prayer that this guy will be as good a dog as his
    brother was and that he won't acquire hip dysplasia.

     I want to thank each and everyone of you who have been praying for my
    family and myself. God is so good.  This move and separation from my
    family has been harder than I could have imagined, but God has been
    faithful and gracious, there are many lessons that have been learned
    and still more to follow (I'll elaborate more one day), so I urge you
    to keep praying for us so that the details will come together
    concerning the sale of our house. This Saturday I will be flying home
    to stay for a week and we will be making a decision about an offer we
    have received.
    

 Couple prayer requests.

 I've had the privelege of sharing the Lord with a friend who is quite close
 to making a decision for Christ.  I believe this weekend will be a turning
 point for her and I ask that she be remembered in prayer.


Also, a man I work with has a son who has some heart problems..while not
life threatening as I understand it, he is quite shaken with the situation
as well as a rocky home life to begin with.  I talked with him some about 
the Lord and he seemed interested and I also invited him to church..I know
he could use some prayer also.

Phil Morano (PDM) experienced a mishap on Saturday during one of his skydiving
demonstrations.  He'll be released from the hospital today and is doing pretty
well.  I wanted to put that up front because lots of horrible things went
through my mind when I got the call.

As I understand it, Phil was on an approach to the landing site and came in
over a bank of trees.  The wind will sometimes follow the ground and then
curl up when it hits the trees, but then it curls back down to earth, like
an eddy in a pool.  Phil was evidently too low and caught one of these down 
drafts, which had the effect similar to cutting this parachute strings - 
that is he dropped straight to the ground from about 30' up (about 3 stories)
even though his parachute was fully deployed.  The air gave out, in other words.

Phil said he jumped right up and walked over to the demo truck and many people
didn't even know he was hurt.

Now, Phil has five fractured vertebrae and a broken (?) toe.  He said the
doctor told him he might be paralyzed had it not been for Phil's good
physical condition.  PDM will be wearing a removable brace for the better
part of the summer and the prognosis is 12 weeks for full recovery.
He will not be sky diving this summer.  This is a big disappointment for 
Phil.  As many of you know, he was practising all week to become part 
of a tandem jumping team, and had done very well throughout the week.

Phil's wife is getting tapped by Digital, today too (she was prenotified),
so there is going to be a little concern (though my talks with her show
a particularly bright side to that news; nevertheless, it is a blow to the
emotions).

So, folks, I think the Moranos need a lot of emotional support as Phil faces
not doing something he loves (thank the Lord, he was not more severely injured!)
and Dani as she looks into the future.  Pray as You are led to pray.

  Taking  brief break from vacation to enter a request..after our softball
game last night I found out that a member of our church is under attack from 
Satan..don't know the particulars (I don't think I want to know) but its serious
enough that the pastor ended his vacation early to come home to help deal with
the situation. This is a soul winning, loving, growing church so I guess its
not too surprising.


Please pray for the member, the church and the pastor as he and his wife are
driving home from Alabama, due sometime today.

       Would you kind folks remember in your prayers my Mother and Father 
       who are both fully paid up members (through the redemption of 
       Christ) of His Kingdom.
       
       Background	My Mother is in her 70's and suffers from 
                        Parkinson's Disease, which is a progressive illness 
                        affecting her movements/brain instructions causing 
                        frequent involuntary muscle spasms, and due to the 
                        complicating factor of arthritis in her legs which 
                        is increasing in severity she is restricted to a 
                        wheelchair for any mobility.
       
       			My Father (my earthly one Andrew!!), who Andrew 
                        knows well, has to juggle his time between meeting 
                        her frequent needs, and the demands of running a 
                        small business in order to make ends meet (who said 
                        anything about a retirement age??), dogged with 
                        frequent angina.
       
       Current 		A couple of days ago my Mother passed out for about
       situation:	15 minutes - and the doctors seem to think it was 
                        caused by a combination of the myriad of medication 
                        that she has to take. 
       
       Prayer request:	a) For my Mother's recovery back to her "normal" 
                        situation - perhaps DV for a complete healing.
       
       			b) For strength for my Father to cope with the 
                        additional burdens brought about by this latest 
                        incident.

    My sister Anne, who is currently living in Indonesia, was to leave for
    Australia tonight to attend my brother's wedding on Saturday.  She rang
    15 minutes ago to let us know that the customs people in Indonesia
    didn't let her out because of some mixup with exit-visas.
    
    Anne is a Christian, as is my brother Neil who is getting married.
    Anne's husband Iwan is not a Christian.
    
    They are going to try to get the appropriate exit/reentry visas
    tomorrow...
    
    Prayers welcome for Anne as she copes with this set-back, and for my

    Please pray for my job situation.  I am a contractor tech from an
    outside agency and while I'm thankful for the job that I do have, I
    need a full time position with benefits and a decent wage.  I had a
    mini-interview at an employee referral open house at another company
    last Tuesday.

    Last week I had a problem with my knee, while walking to lunch.  Next
    day I was in the hospital having two different ultrasound tests and
    yesterday I had an MRI.  Wearing a brace now and just a little worried
    about what I must do.  There is a Baker's cyst behind the knee and in
    the upper calf, but something else caused the extreme pain.  Your
    support as we go through this will be appreciated.  Thanks.

    We received a phone call last night from Jason, the son of our dearest
    friends, Jim and Carol informing us that Carol had fallen and broken
    her leg and was at the hospital Emergency Room.  We dropped what we
    were doing and went to the hospital to provide whatever support we
    could.  They X-RAY'd her leg (right) and found that she had broken both
    bones in the lower part of her leg; the front bone, above the ankle,
    and the rear bone, below the knee.  They put on a full leg cast which
    she will have to wear for four weeks and then they will replace that
    with a walking cast for another four weeks.  However, there are a
    couple of possible complications.

    Carol has Multiple Sclerosis (in the advanced early stages) and can
    still walk, though rather unsteady (which probably contributed to her
    fall).  This may slow the healing process.  In addition, since the
    lower break is in an area where there is little muscle, and therefore
    little blood flow, that break may take considerably longer to heal.
    The doctor said that it might not be able to heal properly at all.
    So, in ten days they are going to X-RAY her leg again and check to see
    how it is healing.  If the lower break is not progressing, they will
    have to do surgery to put "a nail" (the Doctor's words) in her leg.
    This would be permanent.

    They sent her home and told her to put no weight on the leg at all for
    the next three days and to keep the leg elevated during that time.

    Finally, Carol has been struggling emotionally lately as the MS is
    slowly taking over and she is becoming increasingly unsteady on her
    legs.  My mother has MS and is confined to a wheelchair and I remember
    well the night that I came home and she had finally given in to the
    disease and climbed into the wheelchair where she has been since (about
    22 years now).  Carol is fighting this as long as she can and does not
    want to give in.  They are reaching a point where they really need to
    move into a ranch style house (no stairs) but financially are unable to
    do so and I know that she is struggling with this as well.

    Please pray for the following:

	- Relief from any pain that she may be experiencing.
	- A quick and perfect healing as only God can provide such that
	  surgery would not be required.
	- A quick passing of time for the next three days while she remains
	  immobile.
	- Patience and strength for the entire family as they take on
	  additional household tasks.
	- For Carol's emotional state, regarding her MS.
	- That God would work out the details regarding their home, that He
	  would provide the opportunity and the means for them to move if
	  it be His will.
	- That God would be glorified in all these circumstances.
	- Finally, as the Holy Spirit would lead you

    In our department of 65 or so, I recently started a weekly meeting of
    Christians.  I got five last week, and eight yesterday.  We've decided
    to present "Christianity Explained" in a conference room for the next
    six weeks.
    
    Prayer welcome for Andrew as he leads these studies, and for the rest
    of us in the group as we have the opportunity to invite people in our
    department to attend.
    
    (I'll be there for the first one only; I'm off for seven weeks from
    10th July 'til 30th August.)

Please Pray for Rod N., one of our Christian salespeople, who was "tapped" 
yesterday. He left today.

As a result of my heart attack a little over a month ago, I will be going in
hospital tomorrow for an angiogram (aka heart catheterization), where they 
inject iodine dye into your coronary arteries via a *long* catheter inserted
into you femoral artery, and take X-ray motion pictures of your heart at work
to determine the extent and nature of the damage and the extent and nature
of any coronary artery blockage. 

Obviously, there are a number of rather significant risks involved with this
procedure. I won't bore you by belaboring them, but would ask you prayers 
tomorrow AM. Specifically, I would ask that you pray for the preservation of
my life during the procedure and that they find nothing alarming as a result.

I would ask for continued prayer, as the results of the angiogram (heart 
catheterization films) concerned the cardiologists sufficiently to forward
them to Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston (a world-class cardiology 
center) for the opinion of *their* staff specialists. It is most 
disconcerting to have your cardiologist remark "will you look at *that*?!?" 
as he is doing your angiogram. They're not really sure *what* the story is,
except to say that I have "very interesting" coronary arteries. 

OTOH, they musn't think that it's immediately life-threatening, else they 
wouldn't have released me from hospital and allowed me to return to work.

You continued prayer for my health and my family's restoration will be very
much appreciated.

I ask for your continued prayers.  God has shown me that my participation in
notes has compromised the integrity of my job and, as a result, the integrity
of my position as a husband, father and priest of my home as well.  I can't
seem to keep out of notes, so as soon as this is posted I am deleting CHRISTIAN
from my notebook.  The others are already gone except for CLASSIFIED until the

    Today, at 3:30 (Mountain time), Carol will be having the X-RAYs taken
    of her leg to determine how it is healing.  This will determine whether
    she will need surgery as noted above.  Please pray for Carol today and
    during this time.  She is somewhat anxious about this.  In particular
    about requiring the surgery and having to start the healing process all
    over again.

    She did tell me last Saturday that she can no longer feel the bones
    moving in her leg.  Maybe that is a good indication that they are
    healing well.

    I have a predicament that is really tearing at my heart... getting more
    and more convicted and needing to discern whether it is self
    condemnation or the Holy Spirit.
    
    If it is the Holy Spirit and not just the immature me, then I've got
    some hard decisions to make.  Sorry to be so ambiguous.. but truly
    trying to get a good direction for prayer set.

    Please pray for my lovely lady Danielle. She is experiencing
    goal/visionary problems. Since she has been laid off, she  has begun
    training for a cross country bicycle tour. She was all happy and
    full of spirit. Today, she found out she will not be able to go. She
    is devistated. Why? becuase she is already feeling *beat-up" by DEC, 1,
    2, She looks around the house and sees nothing but work. 3. She is
    experiencing a low self esteem right now. 4. She has lost some of her
    goals because of work. Oh just whole bunches of reasons, she is just
    feeling so beaten,....Please pray with me that she will walk closer
    to God and that He will lift her up and give her peace.

    Thank you for your prayers about my knee.  Now I must ask that you
    praise the Lord, for the orthopedic surgeon said the progress has been
    so good these last two weeks that he recommends we not schedule
    surgery. He recommends that we actively continue the present treatment
    and increase the pain killers to assist in therapy and he believes that
    surgery will not be necessary.  I do have torn meniscus cartilige and a
    Baker's cyst, but ice (Natures Anti-inflamatory), ansaid (Man's
    anti-inflamatory) and my own effort should do the trick.  Praise the
    Lord!
    

    I just got a call from my mother-in-law and my sister-in-law Debbie is
    pregnant and due in two weeks and she has just been sent to the
    Hospital to do a echo cardiogram (sp) on the baby because they feel
    there is a problem with it's heart.  Her husband is in the Army and is
    out of the country until September.  Please keep her in you prayers as
    you feel led.

    Ok, this is kinda difficult for me, but I could use some prayer.
    When ever I get hurt or injured, I have the mentality - do what ever
    I can until I feel a little pain. So, when I hurt my back, I layed
    around for a while until there was no pain, (about a week). But AS
    SOON and there was no pain, I began to get on with my life as "normal."
    I would work on my cars, (crawling under, over whatever), work
    in my garden, (crawing around chasing weeds), do some paint scraping,
    (we are going to paint our house soon), cut down a tree, (I really
    like playing with the chainsaw and chipper shredder), but all these
    activities "can" be strenuous. I would not generally push myself
    beyond pain, but sometimes, I can not gauge <pain< from >pain>, if you
    know what I mean.
    Anyway, here I am four weeks into my back injury and I have been doing
    fairly well at not being too stupid. But then,...
    
    I must have done something last weekend that my back nerves did not
    like. Therefore, they are in protest and have have made my left leg
    a little numb. (sort of like when your doctor shoots novacaine in
    your gum before drilling 8^) ).
    
    So to make a long story short, I called my doctor and he has ordered
    something called a bone scan. It involves radioactive isotopes and
    a cat scan kinda thing. The procedure is, they shoot this isotope
    stuff into the "affected area" and two hours later, look at all the
    bones in that area to see what they are doing, if they have moved,
    if they are healing , etc.
    
    I go for this procedure tommorrow morning at 1030 and then go back
    at 1330 for the exam. Please pray along with me that all the bones
    are where they should be, that they are healing correctly and that
    this "numbness" is a temporary side affect of having fractured a
    couple (ok,ok 5) vertabrae. Also I could use your prayers in my general
    healing. My muscles are doing pretty good, but every once in awhile,
    I feel my mortality, 8^) maybe just plain old age, - I am subject to
    that lately...
    
     This is difficult for me to ask this, why? Because 
    	1. It admits that I am stupid enough not to "vege" around and
    	   heal at God's pace.
    	2. I have been hurt in the past much worse, and back then the
    	   doctors told me, the faster you are up and around, the quicker
    	   you will heal. (Ok, ok, so they were Army Doctors, but, hey
    	   I listened to them and adopted that mentality seeing that it
    	   did have some merit.)
    	3. I hate having to ask for help.

Please pray for Dewayne Geraghty, who fell from his bicycle last week,

    Would appreciate your prayer support as I have lost my job.  Not sure
    yet whether I and the rest of my peers in the same spot will be
    eligble for TFSO.  The three of us will be eligible to interview for
    two new positions (slightly revamped, at a higher level) being opened.
    
    While there are many mixed feelings (having worked for Digital 12
    years), I can't say that surprise is one of them.  The Lord has been
    doing a wonderful work in my heart this summer.  Just two weeks ago, I
    was in talking with my pastor concerning Bible schools.  And just two
    days prior to the notice that my job was going away I had given up to
    the Lord my "hold" on Digital, if you will (kind of hard to explain).
    
    First and foremost, I've prayed that I would not sin against God in
    this.  Secondly, I've prayed that I would clearly discern his voice and
    follow his leading to where I'm headed to next.  Should it be to remain
    in Digital for a time, in another position...so be it.  Should it be to
    move on and head back to school, so be it...God's will be done.
    
    Would you keep me in prayer, as the Spirit leads?  I may not be able to
    get back into Notes on much of a regular basis during the next few

 A man that works for me has a son that will be undergoing heart surgery
 in 2 weeks.  It isn't life threatening, but of course it is scary for 
 all of them.  I've talked to him about the Lord a few times, and invited
 him to church (he lives in the same town I do) but thus far haven't got
 too far.  I've suggested that maybe a couple of us from the church stop
 by to visit he and his wife and son and so far, while he seems to be interested
 he hasn't been too crazy about the idea of a visit at home.


 So, I'd ask that we pray for him and his salvation along with his family,
 that the door would be opened for a visit, and for the son and the surgery.


 The man's name is Donald and his son's name is Jeffery.

 A great opportunity for my son Sean came up tonight..a man in the church owns 
 a car/truck repair shop that is doing some work on our church bus (paint 
 removal and repaint) and he said tonight he could use some volunteer help..so
 I offered up Sean..So, the guy said sure bring him on over and I'll pay him
 $x/hour!  The neat thing is the shop is all Christians, and Sean's heart seems
 to be softening more every day, so I'm praying that this may be what he needs


 Look like the job will last for 2 days.

    Hampshire is supposed to close at any time - but he doesn't know when!

in-law and 3 children have taken the plunge and moved here from 
California.  We need prayers for so many things, but for now, please
pray that they find jobs and that we all survive being 7 in an
apartment.

    Hi folks,
    
    As I just told Chele, I just hung up the phone after 2 hours of heart
    to heart ��conversation with a male friend of mine from my church. 
    This man is an incredible witness, surrendered his life to preach, is
    33 years old and has manoma cancer in his lymph nodes.  He had the mole
    removed 5 years ago, but just recently discoved in the nodes themselves
    marble like knots.  He had 27 lymph des removed and the last node had a
    spot on it that had the doctor concer��ned that it could have already
    spread to vital organs in the body.
    
    He's about the most dedicated person that I've ever met when it comes
    to sacrificing for the Lord.   Ed is a Captain of a Bus Route that goes
    into the East San Jose to pick up families to bring to our church in
    Santa Clara.  He calls into the neighborhoods of these kids 5 nights
    a week, ministering to the different needs in these families.  When Dad
    has been put in jail for xx crime, or DWI, Ed may get called in the
    middle of the night to bail Dad out.  He's a computer engineer here in
    Silicon Valley and earns a very decent living, yet he lives in a 1 room
    efficiency apartment th is in one of the worse areas of our city... the
    rent is cheap and he pours his living back into those bus kids and
    their needs.
    
    Ed told me about this a month ago, buthe vowed me to secrecy.  Myself
    and one other person was all that he told about his then possible
    health problem.  He has given me permission to put this prayer request
    in here.  
    
    Pr that his body is healed as a result of this operation.  Also pray
    for his brother, as his brother now has melanoma on his chest that has
    hopefully been detected early enough to remove without further cancer
    resulting.  And for his brother's wife who has�� lump in her breast the
    size of a marble.  She will too be going in for a biopsy within the
    next week.
    
    Both his brother and his brother's wife are expecting their first child.
    
    Ed and I have become very close as his bus route pulls in 50% of my
    Sunday School Class that I teach.  We s��hare outings and visit
    together at times and I've grown very fond of him. I sense a great
    encouragement in him as he submits his life, very literally, to God.

 I mentioned earlier that the son of a guy that works for me here 
 is having a heart procedure done early next week and that the whole
 family is in need of salvation.

 Things are getting a bit crazy in their home and the man came to me
 this morning a basket case..he had to head home for a while but will
 be back..perhaps we can continue to pray for he and his family..for
 the operation on his son and for salvation for them all, and healing
 of the wounds at home.  His wife is not receptive right now, but I
 believe he is and will spend some time with him later today..

    Update on my friend, Ed.  He's running a fever tonight and not feeling
    very well.  Please continue to pray for him.
    
    I don't know if you remember, but a while back I mentioned in one of
    the topics [maybe in here] about two Mom's that I attend first hour
    Sunday School with came in with hurt arms and hands from having hit
    their kids.  Their two girls are in my second hour class that I teach. 
    Tonight one of the Mom's came to me and told me that her daughter has
    been placed in foster care, because of abuse.  She left bruises on her
    daughter and the counsellor reported her to Social Services.
    
    My heart went out to her and her daughter.  It's an awful situation for
    both as the women stood their sobbing like a baby.  She smelled bad, but
    she wrapped her arms around me tonight and I didn't pull away.  This is
    exactly the targeted audience for the class I want to have in my home. 
    I've decided to name the class, "In God's Image".  Please be in prayer
    as this much needed ministry begins.

Last Wednesday, after serving dinner at the Framingham Salvation Army, Bethaney
came up and asked for prayer. She is old and scared as she suffers from 
Parkensons, Authritis, and Osteoprosis. She feels like she is a freak and is 
losing hope. She professes to be a Christian but needs a personal touch from
God in her life.

Please help me lift her up before the Lord

Hello everyone,

            This is a prayer request for a brother in Christ Jesus.  His name is
Roger and he is currently a drummer of a Gospel band.  When Roger was born he 
received too much oxygen while in his incubator, and damage was done to his 
eyes.   Slowly over time as he grew up he has lost most all of his sight.  I 
believe the condition is called RLF.  
            A friend has found out about some new breakthroughs in lazer 
surgery which may be able to help him regain some of his sight back, and he will
be going to Boston to have this done.  I've met Roger once, and he's a wonderful
young man, and an inspiration for us all.  
            I'm requesting that Roger be remembered in your prayers, and also 
 the friend who told me about this, as she is worried/nervous/excited as
anyone can imagine.  So please join me in prayer that the Lords' Will be done.

    Last week we heard from a couple, Danny and Kimber, that are friends of
    ours.  A little while ago, they found out that the child Kimber is
    carrying is anacephalic (missing the upper brain).  These children will
    die shortly after birth.  Most are never born, because once discovered
    to be anacephalic, the medical community pushes abortion quite
    strongly.  Danny and Kimber are very committed Christians, and abortion
    was immediately dismissed as a possibility.  They have a very
    supportive doctor, who has previously delivered anacephalic babies on
    three occasions.

    It is a sad commentary on the medical profession when you see how some
    of these "professionals" view anacephalic babies.  For those that are
    born, many want to use them for organ donations even before the baby
    dies.  Danny read one article by a doctor who stated that he considered
    the anacephalic child to be less than human, saying that he would have
    a harder time removing the heart from a living baboon than from an
    anacephalic baby.

    Danny and Kimber are standing strong in their faith, believing Romans
    8:28, "And we know that all things work together for good to them that
    love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."  Their
    desire is that God would be glorified in whatever happens with this
    child.  They believe that God can heal and work a miracle if He
    chooses, but above all, they want His will to be done.

    When at a concert by the Haven Quartet last year, they read a letter
    from a woman who I believe had a baby in the same situation.  As a
    Christian, abortion was out of the question for her, and she committed
    the situation to the Lord.  Toward the last months of her pregnancy,
    the ultrasounds showed some changes in the baby, and the result was
    that she gave birth to a perfectly normal baby girl.  The medical
    community had no choice but to admit that God had worked a miracle.
    (I shared this story with Danny and Kimber.)

    Pray for Danny and Kimber to continue to know the Lord's strength
    during this trial, and that they will be a witness to the Lord's
    all-sufficient grace.

    Mini update and prayer concerning my job situation:
    
    Thanks to those of you who have communicated with me offline during
    these past few weeks.  The time is short (although I still do not have
    an exact date) to secure another position within Digital or be TFSO'ed.
    My guess is mid-September at the latest.
    
    This has been an interesting process and one that has shown the Lord to
    be close at hand, comforting and supporting me during this time.  It's
    also served as a 'faith check-up', if you will.  My friend calls this
    kind of experience 'the great *dross* revealer'.  And yup, I'm sure
    seeing things in my character that need afixin'.  It's also been a
    special time, in that family and friends have gone above and beyond to
    encourage and support me. (sniff,sniff...tears of joy)
    
    The Lord is also building within me dreams and visions for the future
    (not sure if short or longer-term); it's exciting and challenging.
    
    I would appreciate (read=covet!!) your prayers next week as I go on a
    round of interviews in the Storage group (in SHR).  Again, I ask that
    the Lord clearly open or close this door.  This will most likely be my
    final chance to stay within Digital.  May His will be done!

    Prayers for my mother's sister.  She lives in California and after a
    year of battling some unknown illness, it has finally been given a
    name.  She has cancer of the lymph nodes.  My mom is really upset about
    this.  All the tests that have been done over the last 8 months said NO
    CANCER, but a test done last week shows the disease.
    
    I was able to purchase airline tickets for mom (due to the blunder in
    the Herald newspaper last May) as a birthday gift to visit my aunt 
    next week - it couldn't have come at a better time.
    
    I know that the fervent prayers of the righteous will net much.  I am
    asking that my aunt be healed thru the radiation she will be
    undertaking and that my mom will "do her a world of good" during the
    visit.  It's been too many years since my aunt has seen any of her
    sisters or brothers - and it's about time!!!

    My wife just fot a call from her gyn, it turns out her latest PAP was
    slightly abnormal.  They are going to repeat in 3 months.  I don't know
    what this means (any info would be welcome) other than it could be just
    inflamation or it could be (worst case), cancer.  PLease offer up a
    prayer or two so that my lovely wife is alright.  Today is our 8th
    wedding anniversary.

	I've got two requests today...

	Please pray for my boss' son.  From what I've heard, he fell out
	of a shopping cart yesterday.  My boss left work early, and isn't
	in yet today.  

	Secondly, please pray for my father-in-law Mark.  He had a 
	malignant tumor removed from his bladder last month, and his
	doctor just informed him yesterday that the cancer has spread.

	We don't know to what degree yet, though it sounds as if they
	are concentrating still on just the bladder itself.  

	Mark will be going back in for more tests in early October; they
	have to wait for the bladder to be fully healed from the August
	surgery before they can run the tests.

	Please lift Mark up in prayer, believing for complete and total
	healing from this cancer.  Mark has had a rough year, starting
	with a quadruple by-pass last March while in Florida.  He was just
	beginning to feel well again when the tumor was found.

	Please also pray for his wife Terry, my husband's mother.  Her faith
	is being sorely tested these last few years, with my husband's surgeries
	and vision problems, and these life-threatening illnesses of her 
	husband.  She needs all the strength the Lord can give right now.

    Yesterday afternoon, I had been out. On my way back, I saw them walking
    toward my house... They tried to avoid me, but it was to late. I
    brought them to my house.... Then got hold of their parents...
    
    It appears they had planned this for some time. At first my son had not
    let this fact out (protecting a friend and all). In talking to my son,
    he said Ean and Scott would have run away anyway, so he suggested they
    go to our house... {long story, edited out}... anyway, he made the
    suggestion so they would be safe.. 
    
    BTW, this "son" was my older son.... These kids are amazing!

    I have a prayer request for my wife Danielle. I ask that you pray for
    her emotional stability and abiltity to cope with many unfortunate
    things happening around her.
      This weekend turned out to be disasterous for us. It started out
    ok, but then it quickly deteriorated into a mess. Saturday, we wanted
    to get some house work done, but there was need of us to be at the
    stable to help out. This took most all of the day. We were not able
    to accomplish any of the chores and tasks we had planned for that day.
    (Now that may sound not so bad, but these chores and tasks needed to
    be done prior to us leaving for our vacation this weekend.)
    Sunday starte out ok, but again it turned out sour. Danielle and I went
    to Boston to visit my mom. The day went pretty good, but I could see
    the apprehension grow in Danielle and the day drew late. - Again our
    chores and tasks were forsaken.
    (First pain)
      My Mom's car was hit (just parked) and my mom was sadded bitterly,
    she had just got her car painted and now the door was scratched badly.
    There was a lot of consolling needed to enjoy the remainder of the
    visit.
    Monday held its own terrors - Danielle and I went for a bicycle ride
    early Monday morning. When we returned home about 1300, we had a
    telephone message telling us of an accident that occurred at the
    stable. - So, at 1330, we rushed off to the stable and was there till
    well after 1730. Apparently Danielle's horse was kick by the another
    horse (the stable person's animal), and did significant damage to the
    left rear leg of Danielle's beast. The accident required X-rays and
    stitches. 
    
    Danielle spent most of yesterday and last night
    at the stable [mostly crying - cause she can not stand to see her horse
    in pain]. The stable owner's horse kicked her horse in the rear leg.
    The kick caused some 12 stitches and a bone chip. For a little while
    the thought of possibly having to put the animal down devastated
    Danielle. None the less however, Danielle, who does not deal with pain
    well, was crushed and angry that her horse was hurting. She was angry
    and so was I, because this event need not have happened. As it turns
    out, the stable owner did a fool harty move that put Dice (Danielle's
    horse in jeopardy.)
    (Danielle has owned Dice for over 10 years, to say she is attached to
     the animal would not do the relationship justice.)
    
    When we FINALLY got home, we got another telephone call, (in between
    all the telephone calls coming from the stable, and vet and stable
    owner (apologetically). As it turns out, her grandfather was brought
    to the hospital because he had some type of obstruction in his
    digestive track. Her grandfather is 90 years old and the initial
    outlook does not sound good.
    
     Well, to make a long prayer request short, I ask that your prayers
    go to help Danielle cope with the STRESS of this weekend's events
    and of course to pray for her horse's healing as well as her
    grandfather's.

 His mother died on Friday and he's a basket case and it sounds like
 the rest of the family is the same.  He also needs Christ, but hasn't
 taken the step.

    From my bible study group last night...
    
    Steve asks for prayer; he's a university student and his father died a
    few weeks ago, from an illness that has been progressing for some
    months.
    
    Trish (final year highschool student) asks for prayer; she is being
    prevented from attending our weekly bible study by her parents who say
    she has to spend the time on school work.  She has been obtaining
    results in the top three in her school, so we in the group feel that
    her parents are being a bit picky.
    
    I ask for prayer for the leaders of the Digital Christian group here in
    Australia.  We are receiving numerous condeming letters from two
    individuals over in Western Australia that asked for money as a result
    of reading an article about our group in one of the monthly
    denominational newspapers published here.  The leaders met, sought
    advice from a missionary organisation, asked that the couple meet with
    their local pastor, and asked the pastor to let us know if the request
    was genuine.  The pastor was unable to assure us of this, and so we
    declined the request.  Since then we have been receiving letters
    addressed to the leaders individually (via Digital) with no return
    address... I received this one yesterday;
    
    " James, Thanks to you mob of Christians if you are Christians we are
    in Adelaide on the welfare system, instead of picking rockmelon in
    Katherine.  We spoke to some Christians on Sunday who said you couldnt
    be Christians Look up John 6.37. I will never turn away anyone who
    comes to me. Where we went to church on Sunday is a good church - the
    Rector is going to be the new Bishop of Wollongong Rev. Dr. R.J. Piper. 
    The people in this Church are real Christians.  We are allowed to earn
    so much every fortnight on a pension.  We rebuke you. Mrs Jones. "
    

Please pray for my father-in-law, Gordon, who had a "mild" stroke yesterday. He 
will be in hospital until at least Monday. He is not a believer.

I'd like you to pass this request along to the DCF.  One of the managers that I 
support, Bob Matusiewicz, has recently been diagnosed with cancerous tumors on 
his spine. It took a few months to find out the extent of the disease as he was 
being treated by a chiropractor for what he thought was back strain.  But when 
the treatments didn't relieve the discomfort and the symptoms became more 
severe, he sought another opionion. After the cat scan and MRI, the cause 
became apparant. Amazingly, despite the severe pain, Bob is in good spirits and 
continues to be optimistic that the cancer will go into remission and that he 
can return to work on Nov. 1.  For the past month he has been undergoing a 
series of radiation treatments.  Next week they will begin chemo therapy. We 
know that with God all things are possible through prayer.  We have seen the 
miracle in little Kevin's remission and recovery.  Let us all agree to lift Bob 
and his family in prayer during this stressful time.

    Please pray for my father.  He called yesterday night to tell me that
    he had a severe stomach cramp, and that the doctor wanted him to go to
    hospital.  He refused because there is no-one available to look after
    the cat, telephone answering machine, fax, house and mainly because my
    mother is in Scotland right now and if she heard about it she'd be
    either most distraught or home in a flash...
    
    He says he had this same symptom 20 months ago, which was solved almost
    immediately by antibiotics.  
    
    He is not christian, and would not ask for prayer.

    I've not written much in here as my life has been very difficult
    lately, but I need your prayers so desparately now. The person whom I
    was seeing is seeking to cause me harm. He was in counselling and I
    thought he was getting better, but I found out over the weekend that he
    was back to doing the horrible things he used to do. Luckily for me, he
    chose another Christian woman to try to "get to know better" and she
    and I talked about what he said to her. The details I won't go into,
    but it was scary to hear her say the thing she was saying that he said.
    We both confronted him at his work place on Monday, 13th. He denied
    most of what was said. During the course of the conversation, I brought
    up the fact that he had been doing immoral things at work. He admitted
    same and was fired on the spot. He then came back to the house we had
    been living in and I got very very angry. I know, it isn't what I
    should have done but I was angry and hurt and scared. After our fight
    at the house, I took out a restraining order against him. When he
    appeared in court on Wednesday, he pretended to not know how to speak
    english and insisted on an interpreter...  There are a lot of details
    I'm leaving out, it's just too horrible to explain. But I'm very afraid
    that he will come after me. He has many guns and pistols, the  judge
    would not remove his gun permit because he has never used his weapons
    improperly. So, he's armed, without anything to lose but his freedom
    which doesn't seem to mean much to him, and he's angry at me. 
    Please Please pray for myself and my son and the girl he almost got to. 
    We all need Gods protection now. 
    Thank you and praise God for bringing this woman to me.

    I ask a prayer for a friend. She is the daughter of our church elder.
    Her name is Kelly, a lovely flower. She is 18 years old. She has had
    a life only around christians. Well as fate would have it, she went to
    a school Maine. Being away from her family and friends, she must have
    tried to taste the fruit of the 'wilds'. She is now pregnant. I am
    shock and stunned. This is sooo unlike this little child I saw grow up.
    - Anyway, Wednesday she told her parents, (I suspected some time
    earlier because I saw her 'putting on weight'). This sunday, she is
    going to address the congregation with her sin.
    
     - My prayer request is that people look past their judgements and
    accept this progical child. - Allowing myself a momment, I guess I am
    very angry at her, the guy and myself and all those in church that will
    learn of this event and think negatively. Please pray that the one
    place she should be accepted for who and what she still is (a child of
    God), the her church body. I guess I have a feeling the whispers will
    start, this get me very agitated and even angry at those who I preceive
    will be non-christianly. So I ask that you pray for my deliverance from
    my unprofitable and sinful thoughts too.

I've been in read-only mode for awhile in the conference, but I need to ask
for your prayers...

I've a non-Christian friend who is married in, um, and "open" marriage...
Meaning the husband and wife can go off and have affairs openly. Well,
something has happened and from the little I know it appears that she has
ruined their marriage. This is a long distance friendship, and I she sent
me e-mail last night around 3am. She didn't tell me much except that she
ruined her marriage. The tone of her message kind of worried me.

Please pray for her, that she might begin to realize her wrongs and come
closer to God. And please pray for me to be able to say the right things
to her when I am finally able to speak with her.

         Hi Paul,
         
         Thanks so much for your support and kind offer re: Notes 
         conference.  Here is an update on the situation, that can be used 
         for NOTES, if you wouldn't mind.
         
         Since the last entry on Notes, my husband and I have separated and 
         I am filing for divorce, as he has no wish to reconcile the 
         marriage.  He is now working and has a good job with a company 
         car.  The biggest problem at the moment is sorting out our 
         financial responsibilities.  My husband has refused to present a 
         budget or payment plan towards any joint bills that are affecting 
         me.  He's broken several appointments with our bank manager and 
         not paid other joint bills.  The bank manager and another creditor 
         have contacted me with court summons because they've not received 
         any money from Jamie and the amount I'm paying, they don't feel is 
         enough.
         
         So once again, it just feels like the responsibility of it all is 
         on my shoulders.
         
         When I speak to Jamie, he says he has a very long list of 
         creditors for his own private debts - many of which he is having 
         to pay under direction of the Fraud squad.  His file is still open 
         for investigation, but basically the Fraud Squad have said nothing 
         of further significance to him.
         
         
         So I really don't know what the answer is, but the whole situation 
         is feeling very overwhelming.  Basically, at this point I can't 
         afford to miss one hour of work (I work as a contractor); because 
         every penny is needed -- having no time off is taking its toll, 
         also.
         
         
         I've started doing party plans and a network marketing business on 
         the side to earn extra cash.  At the moment the returns from that 
         won't help significantly until starting around December/January.  
         At which time the returns will be quite profitable.  But its just 
         a matter of A) surviving until then, and B) The Lord's blessing 
         that the networking grows.

    This evening, our church advisory board will discuss and deside if the
    church should sponsor a Boy Scout Troop (troop 256). This troop, of
    which I am an adult leader, has been meeting at the church during the
    summer months, due to the normal meeting place being closed for the
    summer (the local school)... During the summer, the troop desided to
    ask the church to become a perminent sponsor of the troop.
    
    I pray the advisory board will see the positive impact the Boy Scout
    program has on the youth. I pray they will see the Boy Scout program as
    one way to compliment Christian life in the lives and hearts of youth.
    I also pray they will see this as an opportunity to draw our scouting
    families, who may not have a church family, closer to Christ.
    
    If you believe in the Scouting program and it's connection with
    "reverence" in youth, PLEASE pray with me that our Advisory board
    approves this sponsorship and partnership with youth in Christ and
    youth in our nation/community.

Heard some news that made me very sad last night (it
was constantly on my mind the whole night while I
slept).

David Stone is not doing well at all.  He's been in
the hospital for a few days and has had some problems
breathing.  In case you don't know, he has cancer in
a place where there is no cure - and now they are
afraid it may have spread to his lungs.  He may not
be able to go back to work (as President of some
AT&T division).  It sounds very serious.

 My visitation partner's wife will be undergoing stomach surgery
 Wednesday morning at 930...I know she and he would appreciate
 prayer..

 My visitation partner's wife got out of surgery a couple hours later than
 expected, but is doing fine.  He (Reggie) called me a little while ago and
 gave me the news..now we'll need prayer for her recovery.  The hope is that
 this surgery will correct a problem that has been plaguing her for some time.

    My mother returned on the 21st after assisting my aunt thru her
    radiation and then returning her to ICU.  It was a difficult time, 
    but mom knows she was there to help and give care to my aunt -
    which is one of the biggest ways my mother's family shows love.  Upon
    my mother's return, two other sisters and two brothers flew out there
    to be with Myrt - she went back in to the hospital on the 17th and
    remained in ICU until her death Saturday, the 25th.
    
    Prayers for the children and grandchildren she leaves behind, as well
    as her sisters (5) and brothers (3).  Myrt was not a christian and none
    of her children are.
    
    Prayers also for my aunt Muriel (who is a christian) who found out last
    week that she too has lymphoma - and for her care and healing.

    My wife, Cathey, got a call this morning from her brother about their
    dad.  He is in a nursing home in Oklahoma City and has been having some
    problems.  Apparently he has had a few mild heart attacks over the
    summer (that she hadn't been told about) and is having pain from poor
    blood circulation.  The doctors have decided to perform surgery
    tomorrow and attempt to open up some of his arteries to increase the
    blood flow.  There is a possibility that he may not survive the surgery
    according to the doctors.

    Please pray for Cathey's dad.  His name is Ed Chappell.

    Pray also for Cathey as she waits through the day tomorrow to hear some
    news.

    Please pray for my dad, Fabio, 77. Over the past few months he has 
    developed high blood pressure, high blood sugar and for the past few
    weeks seems to have problems with his liver. He's undergoing tests 
    all this week. Until now, he had been an extremely healthy man 
    (thank God!), but now it seems like he's getting everything at the same
    time. He doesn't look good and it saddens me, but the thing that has me 
    mostly concern is that he's not saved. Please pray that the Holy Spirit 
    can convict him of sin in his life, and that he can turn his life to 
    Christ, before it is too late.

I was upset yesterday to hear about a couple who are acquaintances of mine. His
wife was pregnant, and went for the ultrasound at 16 weeks. They found that
their child had no scalp, and no brain had developed. They went for a second
opinion to a Christian doctor, and he backed up the first doctor's opinion.
They chose to abort the child, seeing as the child would have died at birth.
They are both really struggling with their faith at the moment, both at why
God would allow this, and at having to _kill_ their baby.. None of the leaders
have given a solid right or wrong here, and I think that this is not helping
ease the pain..

I personally support what they did, but there aren't many who are supporting 
them at this point..

Please pray for Mario and Donna. Pray for God's peace, His strength.

    You might want to get the couple hooked into a post-abortion counseling
    program through a local Crisis Pregnancy Center. My girl friend does a
    lot of post-abortion counseling that helps people deal with all these

 On the way into my building after church tonight I bumped into a neighbor,
 who's family (as well as he) I have come to love very much (and who has 2
 of the sweetest little girls in the entire universe) and he was telling me
 he has been diagnosed with some liver problems and at this point the doctors
 aren't quite sure what it is.  They don't think its anything life threatening
 and there is some confusion as it appears that the labs involved may have 
 mixed up some lab results..anyway, I told him we'd get our worldwide prayer
 network all cranked up for him..His name is Mike Herbert,and he is a Christian
 with a wonderful witness...


 So, I know he would appreciate the prayer..

    Hi guys,
    
    I feel sorta funny putting this seemngly trivial prayer request in, but
    I want to be able to tell the boys that I did, for them.
    
    About 4 or so months ago something very special came into our lives. 
    Due to someone elses misfortune, the boys and I received more then we
    ever bargained for, another family member, Sheba, our dog.
    
    Sheba has wormed her way into our lives and brought us so much love,
    special moments and rounded out our family.  Last night I ran an errand
    before church and my babysitter and her family left my house after me
    without securing Sheba inside.  Sheba is now gone, lost, and I have to
    go to the pound at lunch today and pray that she is there.
    
    My children are heartbroken, didn't want to go to school so they could
    *look* for her and be home just in case she found her way back there.  
    
    Thanks for your prayers of comfort for the boys and for finding this
    very special part of our family.

    has been answered.  My pup's (still a pup though bigger than most dogs)
    hips were checked this week and this one is doing fine.

          
    There has been a major earthquake in India with over 6,000 people
    reported dead so far.  
    
    Please pray for them, and for their remaining loved ones, especially 
    those living abroad.

shortage of wood.  The number is so large as to be unthinkable
and unimaginable, but consider your flesh and blood family, 
then begin to multiply slowly (i.e. double, then double, then double,
until your head spins or you reach nearly 1000) each time thinking
of that many flesh and blood people killed.

    Last night, at Church, our prayers of intercession were focused on
    Angola. 
    
    Our minister said that she had received an urgent prayer request from
    the Baptist Missionary Society to pray for Angola, the scene of what
    the UN is calling the worst war in the world today. It's a civil war
    between the Government, elected last year, and it's Opposition, who
    refuse to accept the election results. Since that time, millions have
    died and many have resorted to eating the dead to survive. Many more
    are totally reliant on foreign aid.
    The Churches are overflowing as people pray for God to save them.
    
    Please add the people of Angola to your prayers.

    Saturday, late in the evening, I returned home to a message on my
    answering machine. My mother was taken to the hosital with a resistant
    viral pneumonia strain. She has not been feeling well and infact has
    been to the hosital twice in the last month. This time she is expected
    to remin the the hosiptal's care for a week. This pneumonia has already
    taken a toll on her. She has lost alot of weight, her skin tone is very
    pale but her attitude remains fiesty. I would ask for prayers that the
    Lord deal well with my mom.

    Wanted to let you guys know I'll be out for a couple of days, the
    doctor has scheduled me for a emergency surgical operation.  Not life
    threatening, but I'm a baby for pain... please pray for me.

    An update on Ed Chappell...
    
    Folks, Cathey's dad needs your continued prayer.  The surgery that was
    supposed to happen last week was delayed and he still has not had it.
    However, he has had a couple of more mild heart attacks today and is
    now in the hospital.  The doctors have placed a temporary pacemaker and
    are waiting to put a permanent one in at some time later.  I'm not sure
    why the delay.

    Apparently, while he was in surgery for the pacemaker, they ran some
    tests to check his circulation and have determined that there is
    nothing they can do to correct that.  The bad part is that he is in
    great pain in his legs because of this.  In fact, they have him
    restrained and a nurse keeping close watch on him.  My guess is that
    unless the Lord intervenes here, he is not going to make it much
    longer.

    Your prayers are greatly appreciated.

ways over the last couple years..perhaps we could pray for the Lord's
hand not only with Scarlet, but with Tom and Patti..

I just received word that the son of Ron and Karen Martin (members of
our church) has committed suicide.  It is difficult to pray for someone
you don't know, but please pray as you are led.  I did not know the
son, and know Ron and Karen as acquaintences, but it kind of leaves one
dumbstruck.  I wanted you all to help me bear this burden "as the friends
of the paralytic bore him to Jesus."

The wake was yesterday, the funeral at 10am (less than an hour from now).
In my prayer time, I have asked the Holy Spirit to comfort after the
ceremony and crowds are gone, and Arthur is buried in the ground.
This kind of thing leaves a numbness; a crying until tear ducts are dry,
yet strength is saved to endure the three days of burial rites we westerners
deal with.  And after that, when the crowds recede, darkness and quiet
loudly become companions of the bereaved.  It is during this time,
when the ticking of a watch may be heard and life becomes surreal
because it has brushed against death that the Voice of comfort and
solace is most needed.

Suicide is so often irrational; God is God and we are not.  As you are led, 
please continue to pray for those who grieve the loss of this 19-year old
young man.

(Other information is that Arthur was married with one child and one
on the way.  He leaves a very young widow.  He leaves three siblings
(mostly younger ones) as well. Art and his wife and child were living with 
her mother at the time, and Arthur took his life in that home.  So you can 
see, the trauma is multiplied.)

I'm off to the funeral.

    Please pray for the wife of my brother in law's nephew, 
    Ana Nu�ez (in her 30's) She's been in a coma since Tuesday from a 
    gun shot to her head (the police is investigating how it happened). 
    The doctors tried to operate immediately, but have given no hope to
    the family, since the bullet caused brain damage. Right now, only 
    a miracle from the Great Physician could heal her. So please pray
    for the Lord's will to be done. Also pray strongly for the four 
    children that she would leave behind, from ages 10 to 1, that the
    Lord would comfort them. This is the most heartbreaking part,
    the innocence of the children expecting their mother to get well
    and come back home.   
    
    I'd appreciate your continued prayer on behalf of my dad. He's still
    undergoing treatments.

         Monday 25th October 
         Thanks for your concern regarding the weekend bombing events.
         
         Andrew and I both arrived simultaneously at the bike shed this 
         morning, Andrew having tried to see his son off (complete with his 
         own bike) back to university, from Reading Station. Until they 
         reached the road-block they were unaware of the overnight 
         incident. Andrew would value prayer as he tries to work out some 
         alternative method of getting his son back to where he should be, 
         preferably complete with bike (obviously the coach is not an 
         immediate preference).
         
         Yesterday I talked with a friend of ours, now in his 70's, who 
         runs a telephone counselling ministry in Belfast - his office is 
         based in the Shankhill Road Mission, just 1/2 mile from the 
         fishmongers shop. His flat is just 50 yards the other direction 
         from the blast. In a prayer letter sent out a couple of weeks ago, 
         he talked of very real Satanic opposition to his work, including 
         death threats. Praise God that he was spared from this incident - 
         he was elsewhere at the time of the explosion. Please pray for him 
         as you feel led, his name is Geoff.

         As an update to .506, my friend past away Sunday afternoon.
         Those of you that have felt led to pray, please continue to
         pray specially for the husband and four children. It has been 
         said that a friend of the house was cleaning a gun in their home 
         and that's how the accidental shooting took place. Her four 
         year old was present at the time, so you can imagine the 
         trauma.

    Julie and Gary Jones didn't front. I have got some professional advice. 
    We should treat them as though they are normal. That is, they are 
    harassing us and therefore it should be a police matter. 
    
    John Rienitson, (Minister is Derby) has been received "anonymous" phone 
    calls at various times, including 3am. They consist of STD pips and 
    then hanging up. Telecom have a trace on his line and they are able to 
    follow their movements all around Australia.
    
    I suggest if any of us receive any more calls they we warn them that 
    they are harassing us and if it continues we will place the matter in 
    the hands of the police. We could try to get them to either Banks House 
    or Concord Hospital but I understand our chances of getting them to do 
    this are slim.
    
    If we do give the matter to the police, then we should follow it up to 
    ensure they receive the medical treatment they need.
    
    Please ring me if you want to discuss further.

    Please can we all pray for Ireland? Seven more people were killed on
    Saturday whilst drinking in their village pub. This brings the horrific
    total to 24 murders last week alone.                       
    There are a number of peace initiatives going on. Please pray that God
    will intervene and bring peace amongst the carnage and also pray for
    those affected by the violence.

    
    Please Pray for my friend Helen who's father died quick at home
    Monday. He died of a heart attack. It was very quick and the family
    are very upset. 
    
    I will be going to the Wake tonight.

Last November a boy of 2 was abducted from a shopping centre, taken 2 miles
to a railway, and brutally murdered.  Two boys, now 11 years old, are being
tried in the courts for this terrible crime. 

At the time it occurred, the nation was hit by shock.  Now the details are
coming out, it is sickening. 

Please pray that this will make people aware of the horror of sin, and that 
it will turn people to repentance. 

The bereaved parents and family need our prayers, especially through this
trial. The boys who did this deed [and their families] also need our
prayers. 

He has covered all our sins...

    Please pray for my uncle (his name is Andre.)  He is my father's 
    older brother.  Apparently he was in a serious car accident this 
    morning and was airlifted to UMass Medical Center in Worcester, MA.  
    We don't have any details on how serious his condition is at this time.  
    The hospital and my family have been unable to contact his wife, 
    as we don't know the name of where she works (she recently changed jobs).
    The hospital called my mother, as she has the same name my aunt, who
    also worked for Digital at one time. (Both my parents work at Digital.)
    
    I don't know the spiritual state of Andre - I believe he accepted the
    Lord at one time, several years ago, but think he's fallen away.  Maybe
    the Lord will use this to draw him near again.

    Andre is in ICU at UMass Medical (Worcester, MA).  He has several
    internal injuries, pulmonary contusion, broken ribs, blood on the
    brain - he's in pretty rough shape - he was unconscious, luckily
    he is now semi-concious (and not in a coma).  There is still too
    much swelling for the doctors to determine the extent of his
    injuries.  Please remember him in prayer.

 I would appreciate prayer for my son, Chris.  A few months ago he seemed
on the way to returning to the Lord, and then a few days ago he cheerfully
informed me  that the whole idea of praying before meals, going to church and
reading the Bible were "offensive".  The "wisdom of the world" educates another
one.


I determined not to push it, though hearing him say that was like a knife
to my heart.

    I'm entering this prayer request for a friend. Her husband's best
    friend was in a serious car accident several days ago. He's in a coma,
    on life support; both arms are broken, with twenty-nine additional
    broken bones and a head injury. Thankfully, a cat scan revealed that
    there's no brain damage. His name is Mike Lee and is wife's name is
    Mariah. They've only been married about six months.  Please pray as you 
    feel led.

    I felt sick this morning... probably an airborne viral infection that
    has been going around our department... I've got a camp this weekend
    with 40 youngsters... I'm praying for health...
    
    And I think my wife (Petria) may have just quit her job in the past two
    or three hours... or decided to quit soon... pressures of (IMHO)
    failing management by her superior... who also happens to be her
    sister's husband... and recently said he'd become a christian...
    
    Petria doesn't like confrontation... and I'm on her side so I can't be
    terribly objective about it...

 My son Chris just called me.  A friend of his was seriously hurt in a 
car accident last night.  I'm praying for the young man (John) and his
recovery, but also that perhaps the Lord will use this as a way of getting
Chris to focus on Him, and perhaps rethink his feelings.

    Request for prayer for the minister at the Derby Anglican Church, Rev.
    John Rienetson (sp?), in Australia.  He and his family have been
    receiving abusive telephone calls from the person mentioned in my
    previous notes.  The minister failed to intercept the most recent call,
    so one of his family members received the abuse instead.  Graeme Marks
    (who spoke with him) tells me that he is likely to ask for police
    action soon.
    
    This is the minister that we Christians in Digital Australia asked to
    evaluate the request for funding that we received.  For some reason he
    is receiving more abuse than we are, though it could be that we are
    only available during business hours.

    to work for a decision as to her future employment within an hour...
    it's 08:34 here and she will get there around 09:30...
    
    She's quite churned up at the moment, even volunteered to drive me to
    work in order to avoid thinking about the meeting.  I sat with her in

    I just want to thank everyone for their prayers for my 
    uncle, Andre.  He got out of the hospital yesterday - it's 
    going to be a long road to recovery (the doctor's say about
    6 months), but it should be a complete one.

         Thanks so much for your prayers .... The charges against Jamie 
         have been dropped and his name completely cleared.  He seems as 
         well to attribute this to God and says that he's been praying.
         
         The main points of concern for me at the moment are that Jamie 
         make some effort to pay our joint bills which he hasn't, but which 
         he has told me has/will have the money coming in.  But he's 
         frequently made promises before and then not done anything about 
         it 
         
         My situation at the moment is that I'm very much struggling to 
         make ends meet and covering these bills all on my own, so that if 
         he can help it would make so much difference.
         
         Also, I desperately need another vehicle (car), as mine at the 
         moment is very broken down ...... please could you pray for God's 
         provision in this matter as well ... as I've needed to rent cars 
         recently and that's really put me behind.

As a practical ($) suggestion, maybe a taxi would be cheaper than
daily/weekly rental rate until the Lord supplies another vehicle?

    Last night, a school mini-bus, returning from a concert in London, crashed 
    into a maintenance vehicle on the motorway and burst into flames.
    Ten of the children and the driver were killed. I think four children
    are still in hospital with serious injuries. They are all from the same
    Roman Catholic secondary school in Warwickshire and obviously the whole
    town is shocked and very upset. I heard the headmaster of the school
    break down on the radio this afternoon and children have been turning
    up at the school for lessons in tears. 
    Please remember those affected in your prayers. 

    An update on Mike Lee: He's still in a coma, but is surviving off
    life-support. The broken bones have been set and surgery revealed no
    internal injuries. Your continued prayers are appreciated.

Greetings to everyone;
	My prayer request may not be a life threatening as others in this note,
but I feel it is just as serious. I work in Digital Shrewsbury Two, Mod 7. In 
the year that I have been here, God has granted me the power to discern, that 
the enemy had laid claim to this place as its' own, and I have been attacked a
number of times. My heart goes out to the people whom I work with, many who
come from Southeast Asia. I have spent time praying, and crying about these
people who have been blinded by the enemy not to receive the truth about Jesus
Christ. I need help, I cannot do this alone. There are many things that have
brought about a 'unclean' place to work, people, the type of music they want to
listen to and other things. I would like to gather with anyone else in SHR who
wants to pray with me once a week or so, and others outside who can pray for us.
I only desire to "fight the good fight", and bring the Lord into this place.
In Jesus' name I thank you.

    Someone told me last night that they had heard on the news that there
    has been a military coup in Nigeria.  The ruling (up until last night)
    military dictator (I think his name is something like Babangida) was a
    very corrupt individual -- when his preferred candidate was soundly
    defeated in the last elections, he declared the election void.  The
    economic climate in Nigeria is very bleak -- food is scarce, gasoline
    is scarce, inflation is out of control, etc.  The matter of who
    controls the government in Nigeria can have a strong effect on the
    freedom of the Christians there.  The pro-Islamic faction has been very
    active in trying to get control of the country, and even to turn it
    into an Islamic nation, which could result in Christianity being
    illegal and severely persecuted.
    
    There are many dear Christians in Nigeria that could use our prayers.

    I wonder if I could ask you to pray for my young sister, Kerry. She
    came to live with me in June, after a lot of upset at home (for which
    she was mostly blameless) and really has had a rotten time during the
    last couple of years (not related with the trouble at home, by the
    way).
    
    Anyway, she didn't come home the other evening and, after worrying
    myself sick, I checked her diary. I found that she was staying with a
    friend and forgot to tell me (relief!!!), but I noticed a reference the
    day before to her being sick after a meal. I've noticed a lot of things
    in the time she's been with me - she's lost weight (she always was
    fairly chubby before) and she was reluctant to eat meals: only picking
    at anything I made her and she has been ill with tummy pains and
    sickness. The reference in her diary suddenly seemed very important and 
    I'm afraid I sat and read the book right through.
    
    There are a number of references to her being sick: actually making
    herself sick throughout the diary, and I'm afraid she may be anorexic.
    I have no idea how to handle this. I cannot possibly tell my mother
    in case I'm wrong and Mum has had a lot to cope with recently anyway.
    
    Please could you pray for my sister as I try to find out how I can help
    her? She is 16 years old.

 My former wife called me at 1 this morning to inform me that my oldest
 son Sean and his girlfriend are engaged to be married =:-O  They aren't
 rushing into it, however.  I'm praying (still) for his relationship to
 the Lord and for Heather's salvation.  



 Jim too young to be a father in law.

    I left christ about 10 years ago and it was the biggest mistake of 
    my life. Being with Christ was the best high I every had. I've 
    been making a lot of excuses over the last 10 years not to go 
    back to Christ. It's time for me to stop making excuses. I'm trying 
    hard to make it back. Please pray for me to except Christ as my Lord
    and Savior.

    Mike Lee's situation has worsened. The doctors have stated that there's
    nothing more they can do, and that if he does come out of the coma,
    he'll never fully recover - only a miracle can save his life. The
    family continues to pray for a miracle - their faith is unwavering.

    Folks, reading replies by Nancy and Bob (hope you guys don't mind me
    using your names here) reminded me of something.

    Christmastime for many is the most depressing time of the year.  I seem
    to recall hearing one time that there is a high incidence of suicide
    during this time of year.  I believe that much of it is related to the
    commercialization of Christmas and the pressure put on by society to
    get the biggest and the best and outdo everyone else.  Of course, I
    believe that the real source of this is Satan himself doing everything
    he can to take the joy out of Christmas and get people focused on other
    things.

    Consider the following:

	- The first Christmas without a loved one who died this past year
	- The first Christmas without a spouse because of divorce
	- Excessive bills that prevent you from getting the things the kids
	  want
	- Not enough money in general to even have a basic Christmas
	- Elderly who are in a nursing home and will have no visitors
	- You fill in the blank...

    Folks there are lots of people out there who are hurting during this
    time.  Let's remember to pray for them, that they might find the true
    meaning of Christmas.  And for those who already know it, but are
    having trouble enjoying it, that their joy might be renewed abundantly.

    Please pray for my sister, JoAnn Cammers, who has cancer. The doctors
    indicate that she only has a few weeks left to live. They are surprized
    she has lasted this long. She is in a lot of pain, and cannot eat
    anything. Pray that she might find peace and comfort. Most of all pray
    that she is ready to go (spiritually).
    
    Also, are their any good books for children concerning death and dying?

    Prayer welcome for a couple (John & Kerryn) staying with us right
    now... they were visiting Sydney from Melbourne were staying with some
    friends of ours (David & Pam).  These friends of ours are moving to the
    UK in a couple of days or so (simplified explanation) for five years
    while David learns to be a minister in The New Church.
    
    John & Kerryn (from Melbourne) went out and had a look at one of Sydney's
    major beaches (Bondi - pron. Bond-Eye) last Sunday, and stayed on the
    beach for two hours.  It was overcast.  They got severe sunburn; one of
    them even fainted later that night and had to go to hospital via
    ambulance.
    
    They're not well enough to go back to Melbourne yet; they look like
    roasted lobsters and have to spend most of the time drinking water,
    applying soothing creams, and washing in soapy baths.  They had planned
    to be gone on the train a few days ago, but the doctors recommended
    against it.
    
    Anyway, they are staying with us now, because David & Pam are rather
    strapped for time, have moved most of their possessions via boat a few
    months back, and, most importantly, they don't have a bath...
    
    This sudden lack of privacy has been interesting for Petria and I ...
    ;-)

    Our Christian School is in the midst of an Asian Flu epidemic.  My kids
    are home, both of them with high fevers and body aches, vomiting,
    etc...

    I heard something kinda neat last night.  There is a small fellowship
    of believers similar to ours in Annandale, VA -- just outside
    Washington, D.C.  The brethren there have a burden to be an influence
    for God to the leaders of our country.  Well, I just heard that on
    December 22, their gospel quintet will be singing at the White House
    for a staff reception.  Yow!  The opportunity is a real answer to
    prayer.  The occasion is a real request for prayer. :-)

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

In September I shared a prayer request about some decisions that I would be
facing over the next few weeks and months.  I have now reached and made one
of the major decisions that I was facing.  From 1st July 1994, I will no longer
be a Digital employee.  The group I work for is being streamlined and I was 
giving the option of moving to another group within Digital or taking the
package (things work a little differently here in Germany with regard to the
package). 

For some time, I have been convicted that the Lord has called me into full-time
Christian ministry.  I am currently in the process of selecting a seminary to
prepare myself for the Lord's work.  I would greatly appreciate it if you
could join me in my prayers for God's wisdom as I make the next step.

       I have a request for my wife's family about six to eight weeks 
        ago my wife's uncle died from liver cancer,which they dis-
       covered in Sept.of this year.He was her dad's oldest brother.
        They just arrived yesterday to spend some with us, when they
       found out that my father-in-laws youngest brother with pneumonia
        and conjestive heart failure,and nephew was run over and killed
       by his mother in a farming accident,when he fell out of the back
        the family pickup.So they don't whether to stay here in 
       Albuquerque,or go back to South Dakota.

    Prayers needed for my son, my wife and right now myself...
    
    My son has gotten himself into some rather serious trouble, in school,
    thus getting suspended and having to appear in court to answer charges
    related to his offense..
    
    My son needs prayer to help him to learn why what he has done is so
    serious..
    
    My wife needs prayer because she was so angry at my son, I'm afraid she
    will forget her Christian teaching and verbally abuse my son for a very
    long time... WHICH will not help my son to learn/built something
    possitive from this experience.
    
    I ask for your prayers because I have to have the strength to work
    through this myself... I need to understand why he made this major
    mistake... He and I both know he knows better... In fact, he already
    admitted to me that "dad, I made a real big mistake this time, didn't
    I".
    
    My son will have to appear in court to answer these charges. He will
    have to face his school mates once he can return to school. I fear
    though, worse than all these, he will have to endore my wife's verbal
    wrath...
    
    My son's name is Billy and my wife Peggy...!
    
    Lord help my son Billy in his time of need! See my wife through this.
    Show her that our son is not a monster, but a boy who made an error in
    judgement..

         His wife has had alot of medical problems and now his 15 yr.
          old daughter has runaway from home to live with a girlfriend.
         She has also quit school and wants nothing to with the church
          or Jesus Christ.My friend just found out her girlfriend has
         been kicked out of her folks house and now they are looking for
          a new place to live. He sent her to counseling but it didn't
         help.He says,she is just very rebellious about anything and
          everything,and he told me that he is at the end his rope and
         he knows there is nothing else he can do except pray for her.
    
         So I ask that you please pray with him also as I do the same.

 I'd like to ask for prayers of comfort for my friend Ron and his wife
 Marilyn.  Ron is blind and Marilyn is not in the best of health and as
 a result of her health problems she is no longer able to care for their
 parrot, Buddy, whom they have had for ~15 years, and they had to give
 him away.  They are very happy with the man to whom they gave him, but
 they are quite upset about having to give him up.


 I praise God for the blessing these folks have been to me in the short
 time I've known them, and I know they would appreciate our prayer.

Pastor Grant from Fitchburg Assembly of God is going into Worcester today for
his heart surgery, which is scheduled for tomorrow. Please pray today and 
tomorrow for him and for his family. They are a wonderful family of dedicated,
faithful Christians.

LORD, we ask for a completely successful surgery. Give supernatural skill to 
the doctors, and a rapid recovery to your servant Pastor Grant. We ask
and believe, in Jesus name. Amen!

And.. Praise God for the gift of His SON !  May you all enjoy a blessed
Christmas, full of Peace and Joy!

    Your prayers please.... For my 14 year old son. Yesterday morning he
    and my youngest were skateboarding with some other boys. While resting
     on the grass, at the school (school not in session), when without
    warning, one of the boys picked up his skateboard and smashed it into
    my oldest son's face..
    
     My son spent the afternoon in the emergency room. Found out he has a
    triple fracture of the cheek bone. There are three bone spirs which
    threaten additional health problems. One is dangerously close to his
    optic nerve, another close to percing his sinus area and the other at
    this point I can't remember it status.
    
    Anyway, pleae pray for my son, that he will recover from this latest
    insident. Also pray for the family of the boy who delivered the
    damaging blow.. 
    
     Our initial reaction, yesterday, was to file a formal charge with the
    police.. Last night, the boy's father called me to inquire of my son's
    condition and to offer to do what ever is necessary to rectify the
    situation.
    
    My wife and I haven't dropped the charges with the police yet. We have
    decided to discuss it with my son and let him make the decision. We
    reminded him of his summertime insident and how we had wished for the
    opportunity to work things out family to family and weren't given the
    opportunity...
    
    I do think he has decided to drop the charges and work with the family.
    That is once he can feel up to talking about the event.

    I just want to update you on my sister Kerry's situation.
    
    She is going for counselling at a local Youth Counselling centre. They
    have an eating disorders clinic on Fridays and I'm hoping that maybe
    she might go to that later on. At the moment, of course, she denies
    that anything is wrong.
    She WAS doing well with eating meals - I made sure she had a main meal
    every day and also had something before she left for work.
    Unfortunateley, what I didn't realise is that she weighs herself every
    day and she was VERY upset to find that she has put a few pounds back
    on. I was tempted to throw them out, but have been told that she could
    see it as a declaration of war. She is still eating every day, but less
    than before and she worries about the weight she is sure she's putting
    on.
    
    Finally, she is going pop in to visit my mother on Christmas Day -
    whilst my father is there. She hasn't seen him since the upset in June,
    so it could be rather traumatic. I will be there and my Mum says that
    if he really can't stand it, he'll just have to go for a walk or
    something.
    A lot of people have suggested that he might soften up with the
    Christmas spirit. I don't think so. As an atheist, he hates Christmas.
    I'll just have to hope that he's regretted sending my sister away.
    After all, my Mum hasn't exactly been nice to him since then :-).
    
    Thank you all for your prayers. I have received a great deal of loving
    support and help and I'm very thankful to God for this conference.

    Folks, I ask for prayer for two families here in Colorado Springs.

    The first is the Tagliere family.  Last April their son Carmine was
    shot and killed during a traffic altercation.  During the last three
    and a half weeks the trial against Vernon Smalley has been in progress
    and yesterday the jury returned a not guilty verdict on all counts (2nd
    degree murder and manslaughter).  The Taglieres attend a church where
    my family used to go and my wife worked with Mrs. Tagliere in the Awana
    program there.  I cannot imagine the thoughts and feelings and pain
    that they must be feeling right now, just three days before Christmas.

    Folks, I have to confess, I can't understand how the man could be found
    not guilty on all counts based on the information that I have heard in
    the news.  However, the jury heard all the information presented and
    made their decision.

    Pray also for the Smalley family.  I have no idea about their standing
    with the Lord.  However, amidst the relief that Vernon will not be
    going to jail, their must be some terrible feelings of guilt about what
    has happened.

    May the Lord bring comfort and peace to these families at this time.

    I'm asking prayers for a co-worker Rosemary Hernandez, her husband
    passed away last night after suffering a third heart attack in his very
    short life.  They have 3 young children.

for an EEG next week.  The doctor *suspects* that there may be some potential
seizure related activity going on...

    I have several prayer requests for my family. My oldest brother's wife
    has obtained a legal separation from him. They've been married 16 years
    and have two children, Joshua (six years old) and Christina (ten years
    old). My brother's name is David and his wife's name is Sharon.  I'd
    appreciate prayer for their marriage and for the children. My mom is
    taking care of the children quite a bit and is also looking after my
    grandmother, who is ninety-two years old, and whose general health and
    mental faculties are beginning to fail. So I'd appreciate prayer for
    the two of them. And we got word yesterday that my other brother, John,
    who lives in Florida, was admitted to the hospital with internal bleeding. 
    We won't know more until sometime today, but his situation is fairly 
    critical.  And my cat, Shadow, is not feeling well. So, if you would,
    please keep us all in your prayers.

i have a prayer request.  i'm looking for a prayer team.

today, i agreed to take on the task of creating a regional
men's conference in san jose, california, for may 14, 1994.
this one day seminar will highlight men's issues and provide
a mechanism for christian men to walk closer to Jesus and
more actively apply their christian walk to their lives 
outside of sunday service.

i will be seeking a team of men to split the responsibilities
of this task after the first of january.  i have now secured
the principle speaker and location.  the agenda and additional
speakers will come later.  the target is to bring 800-1300 men
in the san francisco bay area together for training and to
provide them with solutions to take back to their individual
churches.

now, those of you who know california, know how threatening
this may appear to many very vocal, non-christian elements.  
i expect i will also experience spiritual disruption and barriers.

therefore, my request and really the most important and first
thing that needs to be done:  i would like for any of you who 
would to commit to join a prayer team to seek God's intervention,
protection and will in this endeavor. 

if you are willing to join this team and commit to add this 
request to your daily (or whenever) prayer list, please write
to me at JULIET::CLABAUGH_JI or JIM CLABAUGH @WRO.

i'll commit to you to provide periodic updates on the progress
and requests for specific prayer needs.

    An update on my son's situation...
    
    Yesterday, he visited the plastic sergeon and eye doctor. Both informed
    us that my son will NOT need sergery nor will he suffer long term
    effects. The bone spurs have already started to mend back onto the
    cheek bone. As a matter of fact, the eye doctor has indicated that my
    son's sight has actually improved, as my son use to have to wear
    glasses (though he never really wore them) and now has been told they
    may not be needed anymore... PRAISE THE LORD!

    Please know also that I am praying for all named in prayer requests. I
    appologize for not listing the names, but am praying just the same. I
    hope to be back to full noting mindset next week.

    Prayer Request:
    
    Your prayers for Bill would be deeply appreciated.  Bill is one of my
    colleagues in the Technical Consulting Center in Merrimack, NH. As some of
    you may have heard on the news last week, a five year old boy was
    attacked by a dog on Christmas day and died from injuries sustained by
    the attack.  Unfortunately, this was Bill's little boy.
    
    This will be a rough year for Bill and his wife no doubt.  Be praying
    for Bill and his family at this time.  Pray that the love of Christ
    will be evident to them and also that this trial will draw them closer
    to God and each other.  We'll never fully understand why God allows
    things to happen.  We can only accept by faith that through this
    experience, God will be glorified.  
    
    Just as King David, Job, and others have proclaimed, May the name of
    the Lord be praised!

 My son Scott had his EEG this morning.  We won't know the results until
 Friday.  I feel a sense of peace around this whole thing, but nonetheless
 it is a little frightening.  None of the symptoms he has exhibited over the
 last week or 2 have resurfaced, and I'm encouraged by that.

    I'm afraid the "Happy Christmas Reunion" wasn't.       
                                                                      
    My sister turned up in the afternoon and my father walked out without
    so much as acknowledging her (AFTER he'd finished watching the
    programme on the television, mind!). 
    
    I hadn't realised just how much I'd wanted it to be OK again until he
    did that, so I'm feeling a bit disappointed at the moment. Kerry was
    really upset the next day and blamed me for getting her to go, but I
    know that it was him she was really shouting at, not me, so we both had
    a much needed cry and made up.
    
    I just don't understand him at all and I don't know if I can or ought
    to encourage Kerry to make the effort again. I suppose it's up to him
    now. I don't want her hurt any more.
    
    Apart from that, we all had a happy Christmas. I got my Mum that
    Dracula video - she loves horror films and she's been waiting for it to
    be released on video ever since we saw it at the cinema. 

    
    Please pray for my Aunt Judy and cousin Heather.  My Uncle Bob
    died yesterday after a 3.5 year battle with cancer.  I just found
    my original note in Christian_V4 note 1174.0 posted in July of 
    1990 asking for prayer for him.  He has battled a long time.
    
    He made a miraculous comeback this past spring at the point where
    the six months the doctors gave him in 9/92 were to expire.  My 
    cousin is a junior at college, just starting her spring semester
    today.  She is an only child and was very close to her dad.
    
    Prayers for my family appreciated.

    My wife, Michele, went to the hospital last evening.  She was quite
    sick yesterday and started having contractions last night.  She is 
    diabetic and she is not due until March 25th.  She will be in the
    hospital at least until tomorrow as they are trying to stop the labor
    and keep her blood sugars in synch.  Please pray for her and for our
    new child, that God will bring him/her into the world healthy in body
    and spirit.  Thanks to all!

  It would appear that a delicate time in the life of my son Scott (11) is
  near.  He has said he wants to live with me and his mother and I got into
  a rather interesting discussion last night (with her sharing some rather 
  suprising opinions on my church and pastor).  The temptation is to start
  a "war" between us, but I am not going to give into that.



  I would appreciate prayer for the wisdom of the Lord for myself and Kathie,
  as well as her salvation/restoration and the protection of Scott through this
  ordeal.

    Friends Shirley and Ren lost their 18-year old son Kenny due to an accident 
    over the New Year's holiday.  Kenny's funeral is this afternoon.  Any

    I've already prayed for them and will keep them in my thoughts.  
    
    That is another thing I have to be thankful for - me and my sisters are
    very close.  I could never imagine losing one of them.

    I've got a prayer request to ask of you all.
    
    Yesterday evening, my Mother was attacked by man who has apparently
    been stalking her for some time now.  She was in her own *back yard* at
    the time...a fenced in back yard (6' wood fence).
    
    I thank God that she managed to somehow get away after he attacked her
    from behind (she was taking the garbage out).  Apparently she was
    spooked enough by this guy following her to constantly carry a small
    canister of tear gas with her (God promted me to send this to her over
    a year ago), which she somehow managed to use while still dazed.  The
    man was big, and she would have definitely been raped and perhaps
    killed if she hadn't been able to use it.
    
    She is in reasonable shape physically, though from what I hear she
    probably has a mild concussion (he threw her on the concrete), but this
    type of attack is one that leaves other scars and a great fear of the
    future (he was not caught...still loose).  There is no doubt that this 
    animal will try again, as this is the *second* time he has attacked
    her (God protected her the first time, as well, by sending a man in her
    direction that scared the attacker off).  You can imagine how shaken up
    she is, and you can imagine how she will not be able to live a normal
    life until this man is caught (I use the word 'man' loosely).
    
    By nature, I am a very easy going and non-violent person, but after my
    sister called me and told me of what happen, I must admit to certain
    unChristain-like visualization of me castrating this scumbag with a
    dull knife.
    
    I ask that you pray for my Mom, that God comfort her and protect her
    from this madman.  I also ask that you join me in prayer for the
    capture of this man, as well, so she can live a normal life.
    
    My Mom is a very kind hearted person, a nice a person as you could care
    to meet.  It's horrible that someone would do such a thing to her. 
    
    All I can do is pray for her as I live 1000 miles away.  While you're
    at it, pray for me, too.  I've had some pretty vile thougts about what
    I'd do to this guy if I ever caught him.

    Hi Folks,
       I need prayers for myself and for my doctors(and I use that word
       lightly).Ever since this May I've been suffering with neck,shoulder,
       arm & hand pain,my primary care doc said it was carpul tunnels.
       Even after looking at x-rays that showed two compressed virtabre
       in my neck.He gave me the braces for carpuls and muscle relaxers
       and sent me home.I wore the braces for a month an a half and 
       nothing changed and the pain got worse.
    
    
      So I went to see my chiropractor who gave me some relief.He then
      looked at my x-rays and told it looked like I had 2 herniated disc's
      in my neck.He then suggested I go back to my primary care doc,and
      get a referral to see an orthopedic doc and I did so.My primary
      care doc.said that the chiropractor was full of it,but he would 
      set me up in physical therapy and send me to see a rheumatologist.
      The rheumatologist concurred with the findings of chiropractor and
      he gave me more muscle relaxers to take on top of the ones I'm
      already taking,which has done absolutely nothing for me at all.
      So as the pain has gotten worse & worse and I finally ended up
      going to urgent care,and they decided that I should have an MRI
      done.I did that last night and won't know the results for at least
      a week.The MRI increased the pain to the point that even doing 
      away with myself sounds good.And I don't normally think that way
      and haven't in a number of years.So please keep me in your 
      prayers.

    I am asking prayer for the salvation of my ex-husband. An opportunity
    has arisen in which I will give him the plan of salvation either
    tomorrow evening or within the next couple of days.  My target is

    I am asking for prayer for myself in my job search.  Digital gave me my
    TFSO notice yesterday, effective January 28.
    
    The two things that concern me most are (1) I am the sole provider for
    my family (wife and 2 preschool children), and (2) difficulty in
    communicating on the telephone (crucial in a job search) due to my
    deafness (I use a telephone amplifier, but hearing speech is still
    difficult).
    
    Also, I thank God for all of you for enriching my spiritual life
    through this notefile.  I know that we'll all recount the wonderful
    times at the Big Feast, and praising the Lord forevermore.

    Please pray for the College and Career group I am involved with.
    
    The group has been around for about a year now, (me for the past 6
    months or so of it) and have grown to the point where it makes sense
    (and we sense God calling) for us to specify some exact leadership
    roles/positions/etc.
    We are having a meeting tonight to talk about what these roles would
    be, the responsibilities of all associated with the group.  Please pray
    for the group, that the transition to "official" leadership would go
    smoothly, and that we would be more efficient as a result.
    Please pray for me, as I'll be leading the meeting (specifically, that
    I would be humble, and not assume that I know the only/best way of
    doing things, and that I'll have time to prepare more for the meeting.
    I feel like this group is the reason God brought me here to MA.
        
    People outside the group that I've talked to about this have been
    excited and encouraged to hear it.  I had been praying that God would
    move in this way, and the other night in study, during some evaluation
    time, someone else brought it up.

    I have 2 prayer requests - both for co-workers.
    
    First is Audrey, she is hospitalized with bacterial meningitis and
    is expected to be there for 2 weeks.  This sweet lady is a christian
    and she and her family have experienced their share of health problems, 
    as well as financial burdens.  I don't think she has health insurance.
    Please pray for a quick recovery and a solution to the financial 
    problems currently plaging her.
    
    Secondly - an attorney's daughter - in her late 20's, was found 
    dead in her apartment.  Cause of death is undetermined.  Please pray
    for comfort.
