Hi!
We have a potential customer in Spain who is looking for 25
*frames*/sec PAL video input and output. This does not seem to be
given by the specs for either the AV301 or the AV321.
a: is there anything in DEC's Multi-Media hardware pipeline ? or
b: is there a likely (and affordable ;-) 3rd party or
c: will the problem go away with the new Alpha-chip Multi-Media
extensions ?
BTW. Is c: the reason why this notesfile is so quiet?
Thanks,

Most of Digital's multimedia offerings, particularly video capture, are discussed in the BGSDEV::Multimedia_Services conference. The AV301 and AV321 will both do 50 fields/sec capture in PAL and SECAM. This requires software deinterlace of the fields to get frames if you really have to have frames (frame processing is often `bad' for a variety of reasons). If you've got followup questions, ask them in the Multimedia Services conference. Tom | |||||
