Customer has a DEC3000 Model 800 and he is trying to install a
PMAB-BF.
On post, getting ?? TC1 301 TC1 24-PMAGB-BA or
64-PMAGB-BA
System is running AXP VMS 7.1
System firmware was upgraded using 3.8 Alpha Firmware Update CD
I assume the console code is 6.9 since the customer used the
Alpha Firmware Update 3.8 CD.
After DECwindows tries to start, he sees the display/text but has
white lines on the screen.
He has tried (2) PMAGB-BF modules. Both act the same.
What does a -PMAGB-BA and 64-PMAGB-BA mean?
In the WRKSYS::ALPHASTATION notes file note 1842 mentions problems
with SYS$GXADRIVER. Does this apply here?
"DEC3000 300 DECWindows display is 1/4" in height across b"

The pmagb-bf is probably not responding to the mips init command correctly. The firmware detects it as a pmagb-ba and issues a self test command. The 24/64 is the error code that occured during the self test. Error code 24 - indicates vram error 64 - indicates a color pattern error Is this a third party card ? Is it supported on birds? - Sridhar. | |||||
