1928.0. "X protocol error with Pro E v18" by ZPOVC::MIKEYUN () Tue Apr 15 1997 19:01

    Hi,

I encounter the following error when running Pro E v18 for the first time
after rebooting on AlphaStation 500/400 with UNIX 4.0a, Open3D 4.2 and
    4D40 graphic card.

Xlib: Connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: Client is not authorised to connect to server
An error has occurred. The following chain of information is available:
    error1: /Arg/X Display/
message: unable to Open X display
errno: 57 : Socket is not connected,
    display name : :0.0

After I stop/start the network and restart the apps, I have the
    following message:

X protocol error : BadValue ( integer parameter out of range for
    operation)
    request code = 51 (X_SetFontPath)
    resource id = 1077338880
    minor code = 0
    major code = 2
    Error Opening Display

Apart from the "X protocol error" message the second time round, I am
able to start Pro E application successfully.

This is the first time i am installing Pro E. Is there some setenv that
i missed or perhaps patches ? BTW, I started off with UNIX 4.0B.
    Pro E hang during installation.

    thanks in advance,
    mike yun

You need to read the installation guide -- the X Font path error
is covered there -- you'll need to create a soft link.

See also the WABG configuration guides:

first error sounds like you're trying to run Pro/E by logging
in as one user then doing an 'su' to another user. First user
isn't allowing the second user to acess the DISPLAY...

second error is a link that needs to be added - it's in the
    Pro/E install guide.
