Hello,

 I try to get info about SCSI-Cluster with an Alphastation 255

Scenario:

Does this configuration work as SCSI-Cluster ?  Operating system is VMS 6.2-1H3

In the VMS 6.2 and 7.1 Cluster Manuals Alphastation 255 is not mentioned 
( Table A-2 ).
Articles concerning KZPAA controllers in Alphastation 255 do 
	not mention SCSI-Cluster.

KZPAA controllers work in Alphastation 255 connecting external SCSI devices.
KZPSC controllers do not work in Alphastation 255, as I found.

    KZPAA does not have the hardware capability (target mode SCSI) to
    support clustering.  Your configuration is illegal.

Also, any
AlphaStation or AlphaServer system except the AlphaServer 4000,
4100, 8200, and 8400 can use embedded NCR-810-based SCSI adapters
or optional KZPAA adapters to connect to a multihost SCSI bus.

In fact, the KZPAA was the initial test device for SCSI clustering,
for a long time it was the *only* supported device.

The VMS cluster manual shows many supported configurations using KZPAA
and embedded 810 adaptors.  Your config is legal with KXZPAA adaptors
as long as the cables are 1.0 m or shorter.  It won't work with the
embedded 810 due to cable length.

You can get longer cables by using SE <-> Differential convertors, as
described in the SCSI clustering section.
