Customer Runs Alpahstation 200, ZLXp-E1, 64MB and UNIX Aplication is ARCinfo. He change OS to NT and found real performance problems. To build up a screen costs about twice the time compared to UNIX. He tried to double memory but that did not change anything. He tried to use a Matrox Millenium this also did not change anything. He tried a 4D20 but also without any change. When he looked at the performance monitor in NT his processor is continuous for 100% in use. Is this a known problem? Thanks in advance, Tom van der Zwet [email protected]

If the customer is already looking with perfmon, might as well ask for a bit more info. What happens if you add in %Interrupt Time, %Privileged Time, %User time? How does this compare to what the Unix C shell reports if you say vmstat 5 for system vs. user time? The version of ARCinfo on both platforms would probably also be a crucial piece of info. |
