Hallo my name is Goran Enge I'am not shure this is right note to put this question in, if not could someone tell me where. Our customer has a ALPHASERVER1000A 5/300 and problem is when he do a power up or init >>>init ff.fe.fd.fc.fb.fa.....f4 Probing hose 0,PCI . . . . eb.. Processor correctable error through vector 00000063 EI_STAT:fffffff0c4ffffff EI_ADDR:ffffff003052272f FILL_SYN:0000000000005b00 ISr:0000000100000000 . . and so on about 40 times with the EI_ADDR:ffffff003052272f increasing then continuing selftest ea.e9........ V4.7-169 832 meg of system memory Bank 0 256 mb (64mb per simm) Bank 1 256 mb (64mb per simm) bank 2 256 mb (64mb per simm) Bank 3 64 mb (16mb per simm) Machine then boot vms 6.2-1H3 no error reported. My cuestion is what does this mean ? Is it safe for customer running this machine or is it necessery to do some activity like swap memory or ? Regards G�ran Enge

Use the WRKSYS::MIKASA conference for questions about the AlphaServer 1000A. The errors seem to be corrected single-bit errors in Bank 3, but the folks over in the MIKASA conference would know for sure. They'd also know whether this is a firmware problem (possibly requiring an upgrade) or a hardware problem that should be fixed. -- Kenny House |
