1838.0. "PB2GA-JB windows too large" by CHR27::YEUNG (im2bz2p,ru?) Tue Feb 04 1997 11:22

My customer got a 4100 for Alpha/VMS V6.2.
It has the factory installed PB2GA-JB (S3 TRIO) graphics adapter
and my customer uses a VRC21-WA display.
He complains that all the windows appear way too large.
For example, the CDE login box takes up the whole screen,
and he couldn't fit a DECwrite page on the display.

He claims he has changed DECW$SERVER_DENSITY and
DECW$MONITOR_DENSITY in DECW$PRIVATE_SERVER_SETUP.COM,
but it did not make any difference.

Any hints?
Are there any DIP switches to set on the board to fix this problem?
No documentation was included with the graphics board, where can I get a copy?

Thanks

Tim

Look at SYS$MANAGER:DECW$SERVER*.LOG to see what the thing is comming
    up at (resolution, etc).

It's coming up at 75 DPI, but all the windows are too large to be usable.

Thanks.

Odd, it should be set to 100dpi.

It doesn't matter whether I set it at 100dpi or 75 dpi,
the windows are still too big.

Thanks
