I have an as255 and reloaded arc from firmware cd-v3.8 Upgrade went ok, but when powering up the system it is coming up with press F2 for setup. When pressing F2 it reinit and than again press F2 to enter setup. This machine run unix before without problems. Replaced motherboard and new board come up with three chevrons. Set os_type NT and update arc again. Ended up with same problem. Are we doing something wrong or is there a problem with 3.8 CD? Tried to reset flash using sw 1,2 but no luck. Every new idea is welcome Ben Palo Alto CA

Problem is fixed. We worked over the weekend and this was a unix system with a vt420 console. When updating from srm to arc it looks the console mode is graphics now. We used cntrlB for setup with the vt420, but never get it working. We connected a vga screen and it works fine right the first time. This is not in the user guide or release notes so if you changed firmware be sure you use a vga screen. Ben Palo Alto CA |
