Hello, Xposted in NTAXP... I am not sure if this is the proper group for this. I am working a CLD on a Alphastation 400 4/233 running WNT 3.51. The initial customer complaint was scsi bus performance and he felt that SDTR transfers (Fast SCSI) was not occurring. I went to site with our scsi bus analyser and determined that SDTR was happening on the disks in the system but not happening on the tape drives. The tape drives are the DLT4000 by Quantun and a HP DAT drive. The customer moved these tape drives to a Alphastation 600 and the SDTR negotiation does occur to the tape drives. The AS400 was at ARC version 4.45 and was upgraded to ARC 4.49 with no changes. The version of WNT is V3.51 with NO services paks installed. The customer only installed the files needed to support the DLT4000. I am not a WNT expert and I was wondering if someone would explain how and what drivers are used under WNT for the tape sub-system. Also does Digital write the drivers for the Alpha platforms or is this done by Microsoft .. Also does or could the ARC console play a role in this?. We have a 2100 in the office and it is running WNT 4.0. We observed in both cases, during console init and during NT booting, SDTR negotiation to our tape drive (TLZ06). Thanks.. John Gibb

1817.1 | Driver will be available in the NT 3.51 CD | WRKSYS::SUKUMAR | Wed Jan 29 1997 16:35 | 7 | |
Hi, On NT3.51 the current service pack is #5. You can download from the web (microsoft). Now if the tape is mentioned in the NT3.51 hardware compability list, the driver will be included in the NT CD. sukumar. |
