1726.6Icon problems on AS255/V7.1CSC32::D_BROWNDave Brown CSC-VSG/INTDRVMon Apr 21 1997 13:1416

    	AS255/300 with ZLX2-E (TGA2) running V7.1

    	I'm having this same problem - revealed icons being smeared. Not a
    cable or monitor problem, single clicking on the smeared icons clears
    them and they stay clear as long as the icon is selected. But as soon
    as the icon is deslected, they smear again.

	The icons are not only smeared if covered and then revealed but also
    if an icon restoration passes over another icon.

    	Are there any fixes for this unique to the AS255, ZLX2-E, or V7.1?

    	Thanks,

    	Dave
1726.7fixed in next releaseWRKSYS::RICHARDSONWed Apr 23 1997 13:537
    The workaround for this hardware problem will be in the next Open3D
    kit, which should appear this week (check the OPEN3D notes file for new
    pointers). The workaround does the same things as setting the system
    logical DECW$FFBDODMA to 4; it turns off DMA writes for EV4-based
    systems when using an 8-plane TGA2 graphics card.

    	The Open3D V4.1 installation fixed the problem. Thanks!
1726.9new OPEN3D kits for VMS have the fixWRKSYS::RICHARDSONThu Apr 24 1997 13:144
    See the OPEN3D notes files (notes 3.44 and 3.45) for pointers to the
    VMS releases that have this fix.
