We are trying to sell workstation(s) to an IBM customer. Last week, we ran his benchmark on an AlphaStation 500/500, and it gave excellent results. Now we got a second benchmark. However, all our workstations are gone to the local DECUS event. Can anybody compile the attached code, run it on an AlphaStation 500/500, and send me the results (to [email protected]) or post them here? Compile & test should take less than a minute or two. The source file is attached. Yossi, Why not quote the new PWS-au. The 500 MHz PWS-au is almost as fast as the 500/500, even with only 2 Mbyte cache. SPECfp = 19.3 vs 20.4. It's much cheaper. --RS | |||||

BTW, while doesn't matter to the code in .0, the 500/500 has an EV56 chip in it. You probably want to use "-arch ev56 -tune ev56" instead of "-tune ev5" for other benchmarks to take advantage of any byte/word operations. -John |
