One of my customers has reported a problem whereby the dongle on
their Alphastation 255/300 sometimes isn't seen. They're running NT.
Is this likely to be the same problem? If so, is there a better fix than
having to attach a printer?
Thanks,
John

You're not using a Digital Personal Workstation, but this might be
relevant.

| Thanks for the reply.
The customer isn't using Autocad - though I suppose the dongle
might have come from the same supplier.
I'm surprised that there's a patch from Autocad if the problem
is "an unusual grounding problem".
I'll take a look at the PW patch.
The customer mentioned the problem only seemed to affect an
Alphastation 255/300: they have older 255s (233 MHz?) which
work OK - but maybe that's because they're running old versions
of NT.

1396.7 | two separate issues | WRKSYS::HOUSE | Kenny House, Workstations Engineering | Tue Mar 25 1997 13:55 | 8 |
| re .6 ...
I wrote .5 to describe a separate issue (AutoCAD problems with dongles)
from the Multia grounding problem. Sorry for any confusion. I
understood the AutoCAD patch to only affect AutoCAD operation, but I
don't know that for sure.
