Hi, I have a similar need to disable the sound card that came with the system, except mine is a Alphastation 255. It looks like the sound card that came with the system is integrated into the motherboard bec the mic and speaker connectors are sticking out at the rear of the motherboard. Unless I'm mistaken I don't recall seeing a little ISA-like card that can be pulled out. Pls tell me if it's card to plug out or a jumper setting in my case, just so long as I can disable the card. Don't ask me why I want to do this - THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT! Rgds, Bernard [Posted by WWW Notes gateway] | |||||

Hello, if memory serves me right, >>>iconfig -i will initialize (reset) ISA config, which will remove the sound card from the configuration. The console script >>>add_sound will re-add it. tzi |
