Several of us are planning a day this weekend (June 22/23) - possibly at the south end of the Cape Cod Canal. We'll be in two or three 17' Whalers, would like to be casting for bass or bluefish. Four weeks ago orange Rangers produced many blues. Any current advice on location or hardware? Thanks for any suggestions. Fishing only once or twice a year, it is difficult to keep up with what's working. Jack

One spot that's been known to produce Blues and Strippers is right by the end of the canal by the Maritime Academy; where the big ships dock. You'll see some rip around there. I've used lime green surface lures (pencil type and others) as well as orange and yellow. They seem to like a nice hair tail. One other attraction that's proved successful is to put a piece of pork rind on a trailing hook. For live bait try eels. |
