1582.2 | Directions | SOFBAS::SULLIVAN | | Fri May 03 1991 11:07 | 17 |
|
Directions are a little tricky but here goes...
495 north (or south depending on where you are) to 93 north
1 exit to River st. exit. Take left at lights at the end of the off
ramp. Follow this road about 2 1/2 miles and you'll see a Dunkin
Donuts on the right. Just before the Dunkin Donuts is a sort of fork
in the road you'll need to bear left. Follow this to the end (It's a
residential area) about 1/4 mi. Take left follow and follow the
main road about 1/8 of a mile you'll see a little playground
just after the playground is a left take it's the ramp.
There is another way from 495 through Lawerence Center I don't know
it. If someone does, please post it.

About the river.
Water is clean this time of year.
Current can be moderate to swift-
Hazards- Stay in the middle and your fine! The barrels aren't out
yet to the right of the ramp. Be carefull! There is a dam there!
When your drift fishing near shore keep your big motor out of the
water there are alot of rocks near shore just under the surface. Your
boat won't hit but your motor might find them.
When you find a spot, motor in to like 100 ft from shore then use
your trolling motor.
Lot's of river to fish we won't be crowded

A couple of things!
1) 6 fish limit - Here's why
We are going to be using a Norbrook pocket type digital scale.
Many of us have these. They are very accurate. I will have a basket
to put your fish in. I will weigh your big LM and SM seperate then
place them in a fish bag (with holes in to let the H20 drain out)
and weigh them all. The norbrook will tar (zero out the bag).
Remember this is for FUN!!
Short fish! - Here's the deal. I will give you 1 (one) courtisy
check per team. If you have 2 fish that are close and I check 1 and
it's OK and the other fails (I will do everthing in my power to
make it measure) you will incur a 1 pound penalty plus the loss
of weight from the short fish.
Dead Fish!
We will NOT penalize you for dead fish. However, Please try to keep
them alive and kicking. For smallies on a hot day I bring a bag of
ice and keep the water in my livewell Kooooool! This really works.
Smallies will be in about 60 degree water. You put'em in the well
on a hot day and the livewell water can get up 70 +. Just a hint
from us Pro's.
The Norbrook weighs up to 10lbs !! If your stringer is over that
we'll weigh 1/2 and 1/2 and add accordingly but the way you
guy's have done lately I think your all set.
New starting time!! 7:30am will be the new start time though try to
get there by 7:00 so we can start on-time. We will finish at 3:00pm.

The weather was Great! The Wind was tough but all of us had a great
time!!! The Andries brothers wipped our butts Cents-less. I sure hope
they recovered from that rooster tail!!. Swivel you injuries were
minor. I had to tow Surrette in from 7 miles up river after he ripped
his prop off. Seeing WE ran the tourney we allowed a 1/2hr towing
time adjustment. Your all a great bunch of guy's!!! We'll do this
again! Congrats to all!
