| I believe it is the 1st Saturday in May. Not 100% sure about
that on Champlain, but that is the date for a smaller lake in
VT, so I assume its the same for Champlain. Season is closed
March 15 to 1st Saturday in May.

| Ron,
I looked it up in the F&G book and you are right about Walleye
season opening on the first saturday in May. The minumum length is
18" and the daily limit is 5.

| Thanks for the responses ! I will be up there this coming weekend,
hoping to catch my first one for the season. I had good luck last year
on opening day and hope to go for a repeat.

| Well, no luck on the walleyes but we had plenty of luck with the
lakers. We caught four lakers over the weekend two were reasonably
small 19" or so. But I did get 2 that weighed 5.8 and 5.2 lbs., we also
caught one small (keeper) salmon. Very few walleyes were caught and from
what I saw were shorter than allowed (18") but still kept.
