1550.0. "the REAL classic" by WMOIS::WATERS_J () Wed Mar 06 1991 09:09

     This is a fact finding mission, for now.

  I was wondering if anyone out there would be willing to take a day
  off on Monday, May 20th to have a tourney on Winni.

     There are a few people already interested in this but I would like to
  see a list of possible attendies before sending in the Application for
  a fishing contest to the Fish and Game. It is a $25.00 fee. We can
  work it into the entry fee.

     So, NOT to up stage the KIVIT Production GALA, let me know.
  You can post it in here.

     Think of it....when all the other poor slobs are driving to work you'll
  be driving north...traffic free...to a day of fishing with one of the best
  fisherman in the area, ME!

						The Legend

   I'll name this tourney when I think there is enough interest.

   There are already 4-5 people intersted.

    Legend,

    	I'd be real intrested in doing this. Especially taking a day off
    of work to do it (even if I have to put up with you). I do have a
    couple of concerns (yeah I know what else is new). The first and most
    important is will the harsh wind N.H. wind mess up my hair (remember
    it's not how many fish you catch, but do you look marvalous when
    fishing).

    	Seriously, are all the N.H. rules straightend out, so I don't have
    to register my boat in N.H., will we have a ramp to use and park
    without paying a fee, and what are the number of fish allowed to be
    kept in a livewell at that time of year? The 20th of May is no good
    for me (first club tourney is on that weekend).

    					your idol,

    Mad Matt can stay home then! May 20th is the day! There will be the
    LEGEND/CAMPING/SCHOOLING/LEGEND'S SECRETS/ Camping trip. You may want
    to attend that one...they'll be elec. outlets for blowdryers.

    The 20th is the day...that weekend is the Salmon/Lake trout derby...a
    few of the guys will already be up there.

    The registration deal is a set..I believe...Don Mac...is it?

    2 fish per man in the livewell...with the permission on the
    state...that's where the application cames into play.

1550.4Who Can ResistWMOIS::SALVI_FWed Mar 06 1991 12:157
          I've never been involved with any DEC/LEGEND tourney, I've
    heard/read so much about "THE LEGEND" and everyone else, how can
    one resist. Count me in!! May 20th is great for us!!

      ps. Is it true that "The Legend" is the best fisherman around???

    >>The registration deal is a set..I believe...Don Mac...is it?

    Yes it is. NH is now reciprocal and boats registered in other states
    are welcome.

    -donmac - don't think I'll be able to make this one

1550.8Suggest Lee's MillsRANGER::MACINTYRETerminal AnglerWed Mar 06 1991 17:4025
    For a launch site, I'd suggest Lee's Mills. It's free, large and out of
    the way.

>>    Oh, wow...Don can't make it!  DAMN!

    Believe me, I'd like to make it. I have to miss our first `91 NHB
    tournament that previous saturday because it appears I have to go to
    a WEDDING!@#$% (maybe one of them will change their mind?8^)

>> Com'on you guys. Can't you take a day off. The company will be fine
>> for one day without you.

    One day sure, but at the moment there's a chance that I'll be on the
    road for the better part of the prior 2 weeks at spring DECUS and
    assorted stuff.

    Additionally, if schedule permits, I was hoping to take the following
    week off as well to spend a week prefishing Winni in preparation for
    our NHB tournament there that following Saturday.

    Anyway, if I avoid the road trips and it turns out that I don't plan
    on taking that following week off, THEN I would try and make the
    tourny, otherwise, have fun.

1550.9Count me inRUSSEL::DOTYRuss Doty, CTCWed Mar 06 1991 19:567
    Yeah, I think I can make it. Put me on the list, and nail down some
    details on date/location/rules. Also, can you dig out some info on New
    Hampster licenses? (As in, where can you get them and what time.)

    Any chance of running the tournament a little later in the day, say
    10:00am-6:00pm? This would allow some of us to make it a day trip (in
    case of difficulties in, uh, "negotiations"...)
1550.13did someone say lunch??CGVAX2::VACHONThu Mar 07 1991 11:2611
    Hey Legend, Are you planning on camping that entire weekend at Winni?
    As Don mention we have a club tourny on the 18th at Wentworth so I
    figured I could stop by for breakfest in the morning plus you can
    pack a lunch for me (ham & cheese..thank you!) for saturday.

    Gee I don't know, take a day off from work to go fishing?? Well....
    Ok you talked me into it.

    You can count on the Bass-O-Matic to be there. If the fishing sucks at
    least I know I will be eating good!!

1550.15****<moderator warning>**** keep garbage notes out!WAHOO::LEVESQUETurning CirclesThu Mar 07 1991 12:459
 Let's keep the "bustin'" replies in the bustin' topic (the same one as for
the "other" spring classic tourney.)

 The network to RANGER is extremely slow right now, and moderating is a "reel"
chore. If I have to get involved, I will be deleting notes instead of moving
them because it's faster. You guys have been around the pond enough times to
figure out what belongs where, so there's no excuse.

 Consider this fair warning.

         This started out as a great idea, then The Legend got involved
      and the whole thing seemed to die, does anyone know who's going?
      Where we're launching from?? What time do we start/end??? Where's
      the weigh-in site????

               Help, need more info!!!!
